The article presents data on the causes of the formation of various types of bezoars in children, traces the causes of their complicated course in the form of bezoar disease. Modern issues of diagnostics, methods of treatment and formation of foreign bodies of the digestive tract in children are covered in the article. A clinical case of a giant trichobezoar of the stomach and duodenum in a 14-year-old girl is presented and analyzed. in a histological examination of the gastric wall.

Timely diagnosis of Ewing's sarcoma is an actual problem of our time, since this tumor is characterized by fairly rapid growth and aggressive course. According to literature data, it ranks 2-nd among all bone tumors, second only to osteosarcoma, and is 8.64%. This review article discusses the possibilities of radiation research methods in the early diagnosis of this tumor on the example a clinical observation of the extra-skeletal form of Ewing's sarcoma.

Gastrointestinal foreign bodies in children are a common reason for emergency surgical care. Among the foreign bodies of the digestive tract, special attention should be paid to neodymium magnets, known for their strong magnetic abilities and high resistance to demagnetization. The usual age of hospitalized children with intestinal magnetic bodies is 2–4 years. Swallowing neodymium balls can be accompanied with perforation, fistula, intestinal obstruction, peritonitis, shot bowel syndrome; septic condition with fatalities. The article presents a clinical case of swallowing 17 magnets by two-years-old boy for a long time. The child was hospitalized without anamnestic date of foreign bodies to the digestive tract. Intestinal magnets were diagnosed radiological. Early surgery with gentle tactics was used. The child recovered. The research was carried out in accordance with the principles of the Helsinki Declaration. The study protocol was approved by the Local Ethics Committee of these Institutes. The informed consent of the patient was obtained for conducting the studies. The authors declare no conflicts of interests. Key words: foreign bodies of digestive tract, perforation, magnets.

The severe course of chronic pancreatitis (CP) in children is rare. More often it is caused by hereditary factors and abnormalities of the bile and pancreatic ducts. Cases of the development of pancreatitis against the background of systemic inflammatory diseases are described. Therapy of a systemic disease can aggravate the course of pancreatitis, and the general serious condition of the patient does not allow for the necessary surgical treatment. The article describes the clinical case report of a complicated course of CP against the background of juvenile idiopathic arthritis in a 17-year-old girl. The effectiveness of intraluminal endoscopic methods of treatment (wirsungotomy and stenting of the main pancreatic duct) for relieving exacerbation and complications of CP has been demonstrated.

Foreign bodies in the gastrointestinal tract in children is one of the most challenging clinical scenarios which pediatric surgeons and gastroenterologists face. Previously published materials demonstrate that 80% of foreign bodies pass spontaneously through the gastrointestinal digestive tract without any harm to the child’s health, while 20% require endoscopic and/or surgical intervention, since delay in treatment can cause serious life-threatening complications. The present review discusses prevalence of foreign body ingestion in children. It also describes in detail controversial aspects of current diagnostic and treatment modalities.

Background. The LoeysDietz syndrome is a rare autosomal dominant connective tissue disorder characterized by the pathology of the cardiovascular system in combination with various anomalies of the musculoskeletal system. In modern literature, there is neither any information about the frequency of pathology nor any algorithm of examination and treatment for patients with this syndrome. Clinical case. The article presents a clinical observation of a 7-year-old patient with LoeysDietz syndrome with a genetically confirmed diagnosis. Discussion. This article provided a literature review, examined diagnosis issues and differential diagnosis, and presented the clinical picture of the syndrome. The main symptoms of LoeysDietz syndrome are artery aneurysms (most often in the aortic root), arterial tortuosity (mainly the vessels of the neck), hypertelorism, and bifid (split) or broad uvula. However, the combination of these symptoms is not found in all patients with this disease. Conclusions. The article emphasized the importance of a genetic verification of the disease, as well as a multidisciplinary approach to treatment with mandatory dynamic monitoring by specialists such as a cardiologist, neurologist, orthopedist, and pediatrician, which help prevent the development of complications and increase the life expectancy of this group of patients.

One of the most serious problems of modern medicine is sepsis. The number of patients undergoing this complication is 20–30 million (WHO) annually and has no tendency to decrease. Sepsis is characterized by severe multiple organ failure due to a violation of the response of the macroorganism to an infectious agent. Moreover, it is dangerous with high mortality. Sepsis often develops in patients with immunodeficiency conditions, which primarily include pregnant women. The article presents a clinical observation of a case of periostitis in a pregnant woman complicated by a septic state.

Genital herpes affects all population groups. 98% of the adult population worldwide have antibodies to the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1 or 2). This viral infection is a significant medical and social problem. HSV can lead to a complicated course of pregnancy, causing miscarriages, premature birth, intrauterine fetal death, systemic viral disease in newborns. There is evidence that HSV has a connection with malignant tumors of the prostate and cervix, contributing to their development. This literature review contains modern aspects of epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, clinic, diagnosis, treatment of genital herpes, including its recurring forms with valacyclovir (Valvir). Indications for hospitalization of patients with genital herpes were noted and the prognosis of this pathology was determined. The tactics of managing pregnant women with this pathology is presented.
