This paper examines the criteria provided in the United State’s Endangered Species Act, the European Union’s Habitat Directive, and the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List. The interplay between these lists creates barriers to conserving and protecting global biological diversity, resulting in a need for more international cooperation and collaboration
