The article proposes an efficient line detection method using a 2D convolution filter. The proposed method was compared with the Hough transform, the most popular method of straight lines detection. The developed method is suitable for local detection of straight lines with a slope from -45˚ to 45˚.  Also, it can be used for curve detection which shape is approximated with the short straight sections. The new method is characterized by a constant computational cost regardless of the number of set pixels. The convolution is performed using the logical conjunction and sum operations. Moreover, design of the developed filter and the method of filtration allows for parallelization. Due to constant computation cost, the new method is suitable for implementation in the hardware structure of real-time image processing systems.

SUMMARY By utilizing the addition theorems of the arctangent function and the logarithm, we developed a new expression of Bessel’s exact formula to compute the prismatic gravitational field using the triple difference of certain analytic functions. The use of the new expression is fast since the number of transcendental functions required is significantly reduced. The numerical experiments show that, in computing the gravitational potential, the gravity vector, and the gravity gradient tensor of a uniform rectangular parallelepiped, the new method runs 2.3, 2.3 and 3.7 times faster than Bessel’s method, respectively. Also, the new method achieves a slight increase in the computing precision. Therefore, the new method can be used in place of Bessel’s method in any situation. The same approach is applicable to the geomagnetic field computation.

We construct a new method for inextensible flows of timelike curves in Minkowski space-time E14. Using the Frenet frame of the given curve, we present partial differential equations. We give some characterizations for curvatures of a timelike curve in Minkowski space-time E14.

Vision system is an important part of the whole robot soccer system. In order to win the game, the robot system must be more quick and more accuracy.A color image segmentation method using improved seed-fill algorithm in YUV color space is introduced in this paper. The new method dramatically reduces the work of calculation, and speeds up the image processing. The result of comparing it with the old method based on RGB color space was showed in the paper. The second step of the vision sub system is identification the color block that separated by the first step.A improved seed fill algorithm is used in the paper. The implementation on MiroSot Soccer Robot System shows that the new method is fast and accurate.

In the unseeded image-based techniques for river surface flow measurements, advection speed of surface textures composed of surface ripples or floating objects is measured by image analysis. However, the methods would yield erroneous information when the surface texture is affected by gravity waves propagating in all directions. In order to improve the measurement accuracy, such wave effects have to be subtracted in the image analysis. For that purpose, a wavenumber-frequency analysis was applied to a space-time image (STI) generated in the space-time image velocimetry (STIV) analysis and succeeded in eliminating the wavegenerated pattern contained in the texture in STI. It was made clear that turbulence-generated texture propagates at the speed of surface flow.
