The article is devoted to the analysis of the role that environmental education and upbringing play in the formation of eco-friendly awareness and thinking. The author outlines that at the moment, it is becoming clear that it is impossible to overcome the ecological crisis exclusively by technical means. It is also noted that the creation of a system of environmental education and upbringing is one of the most important ways to overcome the environmental crisis. The result of the work of such a system should be the formation of a developed eco-friendly awareness among all age and social groups. Theoretical bases. The features of environmentalism and the principles of eco-friendly awareness formulated by N.F. Reimers are reviewed; the main requirements for modern environmental education are analyzed. Special attention is paid to ecological culture in the philosophy of ecology. The scientific and educational projects in the field of ecology aimed at the exchange of experience and practical skills between the older and younger generations are described. As part of the course "History and philosophy of science" at the Institute of philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences, postgraduate students of biological specialties are taught a course on the basics of bio-and ecophilosophy to develop a holistic worldview in the field of science under study. It is concluded that environmental education contributes to the development of eco-friendly awareness, ecological culture and eco-friendly thinking, which is the most important condition for overcoming the environmental crisis and the harmonious coexistence of humanity and nature.

The environmental crisis, known as the ecological crisis, is becoming more widespread. It demands our care as human beings who assume the role of khalifah on earth to actively participate in preventing more massive environmental damage. Man can’t live alone without the support of various resources that exist in his environment. However, the awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting the natural is still lacking. Environmental education is expected to be a vehicle to educate the general public and learners, in particular, to better understand the global environmental crisis phenomenon and foster an attitude to be more concerned with the environment, by internalizing religious values. Building an ecologically-based religious spirit should be conducted simultaneously and sustainably at all levels and compositions of the community especially Muslims, given that the ecological crisis has a universal impact. Recognizing the role of human as a caliph who is in charge of safeguarding and managing nature and the consequences of damaging the environment in terms of Islamic perspective is expected to arouse public awareness to participate actively in maintaining, managing wisely and preserving the surrounding environment. Keywords: environmental ethics; environmental education; conservation; Islam.

ABSTRACTThe relationship between man and the environment is dealt with in a fragmented way in the fields of law, education and in the discourses of social organizations – the humans are out of the medium, assuming the role of supervisor, predator or restrainer. This perception would reveal today a “collateral effect” that is being described as an “environmental crisis” or, as we propose here, “a crisis of massive literacy”. To attest this hypothesis, we performed an exploratory analysis based on the Socio-cognitive Linguistics. We argue that the oral processes are organized around the “short distance” between the “cognizant” and the “cognized”, while, in the written process, the language is interposed “between the cognizant and the cognized an object, which is the written text”. This phenomenon would explain the broad reanalysis of a cosmogony in which the Western man perceived himself as “the center of the world”, understanding himself as a being clearly distinguished from nature (Descartes), a being “outside the world”, that reads this same world as a “book of nature”, as Galileo says. To change this perception, as the contemporary environmental education wants, it would be necessary “to acquire a living sentiment of the unity of the human knowledge”, which means to transform the formal education.RESUMOTanto nas leis como nas propostas educacionais ou nos discursos das organizações sociais, a relação do homem com o ambiente é tratada de maneira fragmentada – o homem está fora do meio, cabendo-lhe o papel de fiscalizador, predador ou controlador.

The article states that at the moment in Russia the legal regulation of relations on the formation of environmental education and the upbringing of environmental culture is declarative, fragmented, not ensuring the creation of a system of continuous, systematic and purposeful formation of a respectful attitude to natural resources. The author discusses the prospects for the implementation of the constitutional authority of the Government of the Russian Federation to create conditions for the development of the system of environmental education and the upbringing of environmental culture. This power, along with others, was introduced into the Constitution of the Russian Federation by the Law of the Russian Federation on an amendment to the Constitution of the Russian Federation of March 14, 2020 N 1-FKZ. In the conclusion of the article, it is argued that in order for this power to be implemented, “to move away from declarativeness” and to lead to a qualitative increase in the level of ecological culture of the population, the Government of the Russian Federation needs to develop with the obligatory involvement of the scientific and environmental education community and adopt the concept of environmental education, which assumes continuous, systematic and purposeful formation of a respectful attitude towards nature, and, on its basis, to propose a system of legal, financial and organizational and technical forms that provide executive and administrative activities not only to create conditions for the development of environmental education and the upbringing of environmental culture, but also their real implementation for the purpose of environmentally safe sustainable development of Russia and the entire world community.

The article describes the changes taking place in culture and education of the 21st century in connection with the civilization search for ways of sustainable development. The role of environmental culture as a platform for the formation of a sustainable development culture is considered. The problem of developing methodological approaches to ensuring the continuity of the formation in general education of the foundations of a culture of sustainable development based on ecological culture is actualized. The conclusion is made about the new mission of environmental education as education for sustainable development, which forms the prerequisites for the development of the foundations of sustainable development culture. A comparative characteristic of environmental culture in its classical understanding as a result of natural-scientific ecological education of schoolchildren, and ecological culture for sustainable development, as the integration of cultural results of all general education, is given. The essence of culturological, cultural-creative, value-worldview, integrative, semiotic-hermeneutic and institutional approaches to ensuring the continuity of the formation of ecological culture and culture of sustainable development is revealed. The development degree of these approaches and the pedagogical means of their implementation in the general educational process are analyzed. It is concluded that the application of the identified methodological approaches requires a rethinking of the theory of constructing the environmental education content, its sources, criteria and indicators of its results, primarily personal

The year 2017 is called the year of ecology, because the state of the environment is constantly deteriorating and requires a serious attitude towards itself. The lack of proper environmental education entails misunderstanding and the inability to adequately assess the catastrophic ecological situation that has developed. The article analyzes the components of the university environmental education in Russia: a scientific one, including the theory and methodology of the issue of environmental protection; normative, studying moral, legal and aesthetic issues; value, considering ideals, ideas, goals and defining nature, as a primary value. The problem of environmental education for economists, financiers, managers in the conditions of the “new economy” has been studied. Conclusions are drawn about the need for comprehensive environmental education, which includes economic, social and educational aspects for improving the ecological culture of the society, with a special role of the educational aspect of environmental education.

This paper will draw on Catholic resources to examine the impact of population and consumption vis-à-vis reproduction in the developed world as it relates to theological/ moral obligations to the earth. By examining both natural and artificial means of procreation, an assessment of “green” reproduction can be made. I will explore contraception as an option for limiting natural procreation, and the avoidance of assisted reproductive technologies [ARTs] as a way of preventive artificial reproduction. However, both family size and carbon footprint must be scrutinized for ecologically sound consumer practices in accordance with biblical principles to ensure the global magnitude of the ecological crisis is examined; therefore the role of consumption that stems from procreation will also be discussed. The paper will conclude by envisioning alternative parenting options as they relate to ecological practices, and I will assert that all things considered, on the continuum of ecologically oriented reproductive choices, non-biological parenting and thereby a reduction in procreation and consumerist practices is the most ethical and ecological solution to the environmental crisis that surely escalates with each birth.

The article considers the main stages of the education system development, revealing the presence of an ecological component in it, reveals the relationship between environmental culture and environmental education. It is established that the education system still does not include as particularly important goals of personal knowledge and skills that shape its environmental culture, although the role of the latter in the formation of the value system of modern society is becoming increasingly important. The key to the formation of ecological culture is the education system, which, accumulating the achievements of science and practice, is able to change the way of life, human activity and society as a whole in accordance with the changes taking place in the biosphere. The effect of advancement in environmental education includes a number of basic characteristics, the implementation of which will result in an increase in the overall level of environmental culture. Environmental education is initiated by UNESCO (“Planet Survival Program”), the process of “landscaping” receives a theoretical basis and implementation in pedagogical practice, the credo of which is “to prepare people for dialogue with nature”. The public, concerned about the weakening of public attention to environmental education, is taking steps to change the situation to strengthen general environmental training in secondary and higher education, as an integral part of raising the level of environmental culture of the younger generation. It is proved that the family is the main center of society, the ecological component of which can be realized as parents, other family members are open to environmental problems. Preschools are designed to continue to perform the same function. With a favorable course of the process up to 5‒6 years, children form an idea of the relationship of natural phenomena with human activities. Underestimation of the role of this stage of the educational process distorts the perception of environmental problems in the future. New opportunities are concluded in the next stage of environmental education ‒ school and university. This is the main unit of the environmental education system.

The objective of this literature review is to understand the complexity of the environmental issue in a context of civilizational crisis generated by the scientific paradigm and the prevailing forms of knowledge. From this research, the objective is to evaluate the pedagogical exercise and the role of the environmental education in the supreme task of forming a cognitive, ethical, political, and historical subject capable of taking the new planetary challenges on. The structural order of this essay focuses on a critical reflection on the environmental crisis; it also questions the restrictions of the environmental education, and, from the complexity, the reasons for trying to incorporate new fields of study with a transdisciplinary approach. This paper analyzes the structural causes of the discourse of development as factors that generate the social, political and environmental conflict in Colombia. These causes are reflected in an institutional crisis, absence of the State, and, therefore, in governability; for which education makes possible a pedagogical exercise in a critical formation that leads to a configuration of democracy and public management. The exercise of power, the decision-making and the role of human subjects must be accomplished in a conscious and ethical way (integrative values). In order to achieve this, an ethics of development is essential to understand and assume responsibility for environmental issues. It is understood, then, that the development supports an ethical dimension promoting sustainable interactions between the society and the nature.
