The article is devoted to the problem of socialization of an individual in the process of studying a foreign language, which is a part of multicultural education and is considered as an important tool for a person’s adaptation in a multicultural society. The leading idea of the article is the assertion that foreign language as a discipline has a huge socializing potential, as in the process of studying a foreign language, not only in terms of the active development of inherent capabilities, abilities, initiative, independence, take place, but also, in terms of assimilating and activating the generally accepted in a society socio-cultural rules and moral norms, which play a crucial role in the process of socialization. Since the main goal of the educational process in foreign languages is the formation of high communicative skills, its contribution to the process of socialization of a person is indisputable. In this sense, the following characteristics of the learning process in a foreign language are important: the focus on communication, respect for the identity and culture of other people, the focus on social activities, the acquisition of social experience in solving life and social problems, and the creation of its own system of life priorities. The communicative method of teaching foreign languages is based on the fact that the learning process is a model of communication. The learning process in foreign languages is based on the linguistic partnership, creative collaboration, constant motivation of communication, based on a combination of such interconnected factors as activity, creativity, autonomy, individualization, which contribute to the intensification of cognitive and educational processes. That is, organization of training in the form of communication is the main methodological task of a modern teacher of foreign languages. It is this specificity of the discipline "foreign language" that is capable of effective implementing educational socialization, helping to complete the formation of the students' ability to communicate, co-exist and cooperate in the professional activities of people of different ethnic groups, the formation of a rich experience of social and cultural communication, which is a solid base for the involvement of learners to the global values of civilization.Key words: socialization; foreign language; multicultural education; polycultural person; professional socialization

Working with English learners for many years, gives you the opportunity to encounter linguistic obstacles that they face while learning English language as a foreign language. Additionally, teaching for 13 years and observing the learning process, it enables you to recognize the students’ needs and at the same time, detect linguistic mistakes that they make, while practicing the target language. During my experience as a teacher, in terms of teaching and learning verbs in general and its grammatical categories in specific, it is noticed that Albanian learners find it relatively difficult the correct use of verbs in context and even more confusing the equivalent use of verbs in Albanian. Since verbs present an important part of speech, this study aims to investigate several differences and similarities between grammatical categories of verbs in English and Albanian. As a result, the Albanian learners of English language will be able to identify some of the major differences and similarities between the grammatical categories of verbs in English and Albanian; overcome the usual mistakes; gain the necessary knowledge regarding verbs and use them properly in English and Albanian.

This manuscript aims to present possibilities for developing mobile and smart platforms and systems in teaching and learning the English language for engineering professionals in different engineering study programs. Foreign language teaching and learning processes are based on traditional methods, while in engineering and technical sciences, teaching and learning processes include different digital platforms. Therefore, the following hypotheses were stated. (H1) It is possible to develop a software solution for mobile platforms that can have a higher level of interactivity, and it may lead to better learning outcomes, especially in the field of adopting engineering vocabulary. (H2) Implementation of the developed solution increases motivation for learning and leads to a higher level of satisfaction with the learning process as a part of the quality of life. (H3) Students who have digital and mobile platforms in the learning process could have higher achievement values. This manuscript presents software application development and its implementation in teaching English as a foreign language for engineering and technical study programs on the bachelor level. Foreign language teaching to medical students depends on solving various institutional problems. In this sense, its effectiveness is a variable which influences the level of education at the university. Effectiveness of academic education depends on two groups of conditions- one is the purely material aspect- the place and conditions in which education takes place, the financial resources and the second one includes the psychoemotional aspect of training- the so-called didactic costs which include the physical and emotional efforts invested in the process of training both on the side of the lecturer and student. One of the ways to improve effectiveness is by restricting didactic costs- the less the psychoemotional tension and anxiety- the better results would a student achieve. Giving the student the opportunity to “manage his/her own manner of learning” and placing the student in the centre of the educational process would inevitably lead to increasing student motivation.Another mechanism to achieve effectiveness and quality of education is through activating the inner motivation of students to learn a foreign language. The latter is influenced by factors such as concentration, attention, a feeling of complete participation in the process of training, lack of fear of failure, assuming responsibility for the achieved results etc. A new aspect of contemporary learning success is differentiation in education, introduction of the individual, personal style of learning of each student. An appropriate instrument or tool in achieving motivation is for the learning process to follow and conform to the different learning styles of students. The individual learning style implies the individual preferences in perceiving and memorizing information. The aim of the present paper is to identify these styles in students from the Medical University – Plovdiv and thus to identify their satisfaction with foreign language learning. The survey was conducted in 2017 among 140 students from 16 countries. A written questionnaire and a psychological test were used to gather the data. Determinants for satisfaction were identifies as: the material setting and technological equipment, personal characteristics of the teacher and the microclimate in the student group. An adapted LSI (Learning Style Inventory) specifically adapted for Bulgaria which includes four types of approaches to the learning process- specific experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization and active experimentation was used. The results are distributed according to gender, specialty, year of studies and Kolb’s learning styles- divergent, assimilative, convergent and accommodative. The leading learning style according to our survey proves to be the convergent on with women having higher values (32,14%) than men (24,28%), next comes the assimilative learning style with men having higher value (17,14%) as opposed to women (14,28%). The accommodative is next – 5% of women and 3.57% men prefer this learning style and the least proffered one is the divergent one – 3,57% of women and 2,88% of men prefer it.

The article examines the educational paradigm as a genesis indicator of changes in the educational field caused by social development, paradigm as a result of the implementation of integration processes. Besides, the personal self-realization of students as a manifestation of the student-centric paradigm is studied. Іn accordance with the objectives of the study, the following is performed. It summarises the key ideas of paradigms of traditional pedagogy (knowledge, ZUN, scientific- technocratic, paradigm of explanatory-illustrative learning) and people- oriented paradigms (child-centric, anthropological, cognitive, pragmatic, humanitarian, humanistic, cultural, paradigms of developmental and adaptive learning). It is established that paradigm analysis of modern education should be carried out in two directions: 1) to reveal its polyparadigmal character; 2) to provide a thorough consideration of the didactic features of the organizing the educational process within the specific educational paradigm. Considering the above mentioned matter in the article, the examples of polyparadigmal manifestations of multidimensional phenomena and processes in pedagogical reality are given. Didactic features of organising educational process in realisation of student-centered paradigm are also revealed. It is characterised such didactic tools as topic-presentation matrix and author’s music-markers of the beginning and end of the learning process (lectures, seminars, lessons, etc.). The self-realization of students with the use of these means is investigated. The complex of research methods is used in the work: general scientific (analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, generalization) and empirical (observations, discussions, questionnaires). The complex of research methods is used in the work: general scientific (analysis, synthesis, comparison, systematization, generalization) and empirical (observations, discussions, questionnaires). 110 respondents were involved in the study. The article considers the process of students’ critical thinking development through the English language resources. The authors highlight the importance of English in the developing of students’ universal competencies and their adaption to the current professional requirements. The article outlines the essential critical thinking skills that allow students to comprehend the received material, break down the material into its constituent parts, to distinguish relevant information from extraneous material, to synthesize, to infer and evaluate it. The educational foreign-language text is used as a means of students’ critical thinking development. The authors emphasize the text’s multifunction nature and its contribution into enhancement of students’ thinking activity. Despite the teachers’ keen interest in the process of critical thinking developing some authors prove the lack of methods and techniques promoting its growth. The article gives an overview of Bloom’s taxonomy and outlines its application in the educational process. The taxonomy is widely used to set educational objectives, to formulate motivating exercises and monitor headway in knowledge and skills developing. The study shows that not all textbooks and tasks are intended to enhance critical thinking skills. So, the authors analyzed their English textbook and changed their approach to work with the texts. The article describes the experience proving that new challenging tasks help students comprehend the received information, distinguish relevant facts, summarize and learn to evaluate.
