This article discusses the development of self-esteem in primary school age, its changes and factors of self-esteem in students from the first to fourth grades. The article gives the concept of self-esteem. The authors note that the primary school teacher should take into account the psychological, individual and differentiated approach to learning. Self-assessment of a junior schoolchild is an unstable phenomenon and becomes differentiated. This is manifested in the emergence of the emotional orientation of the general self-esteem and the child's ability to self-assess.

The main attention is directed to the consideration of the features of the self-assessment of younger schoolchildren with ZPR and the ways of its formation. In schoolchildren with mental retardation, the process of forming self-esteem is more acute and has specific patterns of development due to dysontogenesis

The monograph examines the issues of prevention and correction of difficulties in learning to read, caused by the so-called dyslexia - a violation of the ability to read - in children of primary school age. The diagnostic and advisory function of the primary school teacher and his ability to support children with reading problems by recognizing the corresponding symptoms in time is updated. It examines how students with specific learning difficulties, manifested by symptoms of dyslexia, cope with their problem and whether they can be helped in the practice of primary school.

The article highlights the actual psychological and pedagogical problem of manifestation of a tendency to lie in children of primary school age. Based on the study of scientific literature on this topic and the results of an experimental study conducted in the second grades of primary school, the reasons for this communicative phenomenon and its relationship with the level of self-esteem of the child are analyzed. The formation of an adequate self-esteem in a younger student is seen as a means of eliminating his manifestations of deceit. The conditions, methods and techniques of pedagogical activity aimed at the formation of an adequate self-esteem of a younger student, and the role of a teacher in this process are revealed.

The article focuses on an important problem stipulated by cardinal changes in the theory and practice of training and education of children of primary school age. Its topicality is caused by the implementation of the New Ukrainian School Concept, the essence of which is to change the teaching methods of primary school children bringing them most closely to play activities that is a characteristic feature of mental and physical development of children in primary school age. Purpose. To clarify the importance of interdisciplinary connections and interdisciplinary integration in Ukrainian language lessons in the primary grades of the New Ukrainian School, to outline some aspects of the realization of the essence and importance of this phenomenon. Methods. Analysis of scientific literature on the problem, generalization and systematization of the collected material, modeling of integrated processes. Result. The article focuses on various aspects of the implementation of integrated interdisciplinary links in Ukrainian language lessons, including elements of classes in language and reading, language and mathematics, language and science, language and computer science, lan-guage and art. Due to the fact that the new curriculum for primary school students offers the introduction of such subjects as “I explore the world”, “I am in the world”, “Environment”, “Health Technologies”, “Natural Science” having an integrated nature in themselves, it allows the primary school teacher to expand the interdisciplinary links of disciplines studied by younger students. Originality. The article emphasizes that modern scholars propose to distinguish between the con- cepts of the “integrated learning” and “interdisciplinary links”, which until recently, were interpreted in the literature as similar phenomena. Based on certain theoretical principles of the integrated and interdisciplinary links, different options for their use in native language lessons in primary school have been proposed.Conclusion. Thus, the teacher should analyze the educational material from the proposed subjects, choose topics that are similar in content and purpose, syn-thesize this material and organically combine educational material.

The article is devoted to the actual problem of the professional training of future primary school teachers for the formation information-digital competence of primary school age students from the point of view of the competence-based approach. The urgency of the problem under study has been proved, taking into account the transformation processes taking place in society, in particular: digitalization, updating the content of education, the impact of the consequences of a global pandemic, etc. The essence of the concepts «competence», «competence-based approach», «information-digital competence» has been determined. The priority of the competence-based approach to the problem of professional training of future primary school teachers, including the formation of various competencies of primary school age students, is noted. The leading competencies that make up the information-digital competence of a primary school teacher have been determined (the ability to: navigate the information space, search and critically evaluate information, operate it in professional activities; effectively use existing and create (if necessary) new electronic (digital) educational resources, use digital technologies in the educational process) and a primary school age students (the ability: to understand the essence of information, analyze it, search in different sources and critically reflect on it; to use media for educational purposes; to effective communication on the Internet; to create and distribute various content on the network Internet).

The introduction of second generation standards is a significant innovation for the initial stage of education, the foundation of which is the achievement of qualitatively new educational results that affect the development of a harmonious personality. At the primary school age, the formation of educational activity as the leading one takes place, therefore, in our study, a special place is given to self-esteem. The article analyzes various approaches related to the study of self-esteem in domestic and foreign psychology and pedagogy, which made it possible to determine the basis of the experimental part of the study. The purpose of the article was to use the analysis of psychological, pedagogical and methodological literature to conduct a study of self-assessment in children of primary school age on the subjects "Russian language" and "Literary reading"; development and testing of a set of tasks and exercises aimed at forming self-esteem of younger students in educational activities. The empirical study involved 80 children aged 9-10 years from schools in Nizhny Novgorod and the Nizhny Novgorod region. The results of the ascertaining stage of the study showed that the majority of third graders have an overestimated (60%) or underestimated self-esteem (24%), 16% of students correspond to adequate self-esteem. The formative stage was realized in the lessons of the Russian language and literary reading. The complex considered techniques, exercises and tasks used in educational activities to form self-esteem in younger students. The effectiveness of the shaping influences was confirmed by the results of the control stage.

Instructional material is one of teh important learning resources in teaching and learning process. However, the course of The Development of Primary School Age Children at the Department of Primary School Teacher Education, School of Education, State University of Jakarta, has not a reference which can be used as a main text book. This research, therefore, developed a text book to meet the need. Applying research and development method introduce by Borg and Gal and tried out, this research has produce a main text book that has proved a high readability and signifiacnt to the course. It was also found out that the text book produce is able to motivate the students to learn and has improved the students’ learning achievement.
