There are many motivations for investigating the view selection problem. At first, materialized views are increasingly being supported by commercial database systems and are used to speed up query response time. Therefore, the problem of choosing an appropriate set of views to materialize in the database is crucial in order to improve query processing cost. Another application of the view selection issue is selecting views to materialize in data warehousing systems to answer decision support queries. The problem addressed in this paper is similar to that of deciding which views to materialize in data warehousing. However, most existing view selection methods are static. Moreover, none of these methods have considered the problem of de-materializing the already materialized views. Yet it is a very important issue since the size of storage space is usually restricted. This chapter deals with the problem of dynamic view selection and with the pending issue of removing materialized views in order to replace less beneficial views with more beneficial ones. We propose a view selection method for deciding which views to materialize according to statistic metadata. More precisely, we have designed and implemented our view selection method, including a polynomial algorithm, to decide which views to materialize.

At the 1958 meeting of our society, then known as EMSA, the author introduced the concept of microspace and suggested its use to provide adequate information storage space and the use of electron microscope techniques to provide storage and retrieval access. At this current meeting of MSA, he wishes to suggest an additional use of the power of the electron microscope. The author has been contemplating this new use for some time and would have suggested it in the EMSA fiftieth year commemorative volume, but for page limitations. There is compelling reason to put forth this suggestion today because problems have arisen in the “Standard Model” of particle physics and funds are being greatly reduced just as we need higher energy machines to resolve these problems. Therefore, any techniques which complement or augment what we can accomplish during this austerity period with the machines at hand is worth exploring.

The article, basing on the analysis of selected media texts with reference to narrative from the leading Ukrainian newspapers «Dzerkalo Tyzhnia» (Weekly Mirror), «Den» (Day), «Ukraina Moloda» (Young Ukraine) for 2016–2020, the semantic and content characteristics of the «narrative», «strategic narrative», «small narratives» nominations has established; the directions of the semantic realization of the meaning of the narrative and its possibilities in the process of international strategic communications aimed at both external and internal audience, are outlined. It is proved that the main task of a strategic, or national, narrative is a reasoned explanation to the state population and interested audiences of specific realities, intentions, plans; justification of certain directions of state activity aimed at partners, at opponents and those occupying a neutral position.

There are divided the spheres of use of different narratological nominations: in international communications and in scientific discourse, the conceptual foundations of state identity and international interaction are referred to as strategic narrative or grand narrative, in publicistic discourse the narrative nomination is used, more rarely – historical narrative, national narrative.

The scientific novelty of the research is that the focus is on the media aspect of the use of one of the key concepts of strategic communications and the role of the media in its implementation.

The main general scientific methods used in this article are descriptive and comparative ones, as well as analysis and synthesis. The following empirical methods were also used: solid selection method (solid selection method for allocation texts with the «narrative» lexeme; quantitative method of content analysis with elements of qualitative one – for characterizing the semantic of the «narrative» term).

The results of the study can be used in the complex research of the technology of international strategic communications and in the practical activity of specialists in international strategic communications, a new trend in Ukraine, which is currently under active institutionalization.
Key words: international strategic communications, propaganda, narrative, strategic narrative, grand narrative, «small narratives».

Monitoring of warehouse inventory data processing is an important thing for companies. PT Talaga mulya indah is still manual using paper media, causing problems that have an effect on existing information, namely: problems with data processing of incoming and outgoing goods. And the difference between data on the amount of stock of goods available with physical data, often occurs inputting data more than once for the same item, searching for available data, and making reports so that it impedes companies in monitoring inventory of existing stock of goods. Which aims to create a system that can provide updated information to facilitate the warehouse admin in making inventory reports, and reduce errors in input by means of integrated control. In this study, the authors used the data collection method used in this analysis using the method of observation, interviews, and literature review (literature study). For analysis using the PIECES analysis method. Furthermore, the system design used is UML (Unified Modeling Language). The results of this study are expected to produce the right data in the process of monitoring inventory data processing, also can provide the right information and make it easier to control the overall availability of goods.

Rinamba opacicollis Cameron (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was collected from Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, India for the first time from the larvae of white stem borer, Xylotrechus quadripes Chevrolat infesting arabica coffee. Its role in the biological or integrated control of X. quadripes remains to be evaluated. White stem borer could be the first host record of this parasitoid all over the world.
