Micro-nozzle, based on the MEMS technology, has played an important role in orbit positioning, attitude adjusting and other applications of micro-satellites. The continuous no-slip model of two-dimensional compressible laminar flow in the micro-nozzle was proposed and solved numerically by finite control volume method. The flow and heat transfer in the micro-nozzle were computed under different conditions, including different inlet pressures, different inlet temperatures and different divergent angles. Flow field and effects of these conditions on the propulsion performance were analyzed. Finally, simulated solutions were compared and validated with the experimental results.

A cellular automation (CA) model has successfully been used to model the development of microstructure of an aluminum alloy during solidification to produce detailed structure maps for the solidified alloys. More recently, the application of CA models to practical castings/solidification conditions has attracted increasing research interest. However, the determination of the calculation parameters of any model associated with nucleation is difficult. Accordingly, this work investigates the detailed effect of the six parameters of nucleation on microstructure formation and morphology as well as the grain size by cellular automaton-finite control volume method (CAFVM). The nucleation parameters can be determined or estimated by comparing the calculated and experimental results, which enables a more practical prediction of the microstructure (morphology and grain size).

In this paper, new forms of Maxwell’s equations in vector and scalar variants are presented. The new forms are based on the use of Gauss’s theorem for magnetic induction and electrical induction. The equations are formulated in both differential and integral forms. In particular, the new forms of the equations relate to the non-stationary expressions and their integral identities. The indicated methodology enables a thorough analysis of non-stationary boundary conditions on the behavior of electromagnetic fields in multiple continuous regions. It can be used both for qualitative analysis and in numerical methods (control volume method) and optimization. The last Section introduces an application to equations of magnetic fluid in both differential and integral forms.
