Abstract ATI 2003 (UNS S32003) is a molybdenum-enhanced lean duplex stainless steel (LDSS) that was developed to fill the performance gap between type 316L (UNS S31603) and 2205 duplex (UNS S32205) stainless steels. ATI 2003 has reduced alloy content, which makes it less costly than 2205 duplex, yet ATI 2003 retains the high strength level characteristic of duplex grades. Compared to type 316L, ATI 2003 has increased strength, better corrosion resistance, and greater cost stability. These and other factors make ATI 2003 an attractive alternative for a variety of applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-1335. Producer or source: ATI.

Abstract Crucible 174 SXR is a premium-quality precipitation-hardening stainless steel designed for use as rifle barrels. It is a modification of Crucible’s 17Cr-4Ni that offers substantially improved machinability without sacrificing toughness. Its excellent corrosion resistance approaches that of a 300 series austenitic stainless steel, while its high strength is characteristic of 400 series martensitic stainless steels. At similar hardness levels, Crucible 174 SXR offers greater toughness than either the 410 or 416 stainless steels which are commonly used for rifle barrels. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and elasticity as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on forming and heat treating. Filing Code: SS-1034. Producer or source: Crucible Service Centers.

Abstract Remanit 4401 is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel. The molybdenum (2 to 2.5%) gives it resistance to pitting corrosion, more than most of the standard grades of austenitic stainless steels. This extra measure of corrosion resistance makes this grade particularly suitable for uses involving severe corrosive conditions. The alloy has high strength and good resistance to creep at elevated temperatures. Its many applications include the nuclear, chemical, food, paper, and textile industries. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on high temperature performance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-664. Producer or source: Thyssen Stahl AG.

Abstract CARPENTER STAINLESS 22Cr-13Ni-5Mn has very good corrosion resistance in combination with high strength. It has better corrosion resistance than AISI Type 316 stainless steel and approximately twice the yield strength. Carpenter 22Cr-13Ni-5Mn can be machined, cold worked and welded using the same equipment and methods used for the conventional AISI 300 series of stainless steels. It is nonmagnetic as annealed and after severe cold work. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-353. Producer or source: Carpenter.
