Abstract NUCALLOY 41 is a nickel-chromium-boron alloy developed as an alternative to cobalt-base alloys in applications where the presence of cobalt is undesirable. It is finding wide acceptance because of its toughness and high resistance to attack by many chemicals. It has superior wear resistance which is derived from the presence of hard nickel borides (and to a lesser extent chromium carbides) tightly held in a tough nickel-rich matrix. Among its many uses are cylinder liners, glass plant applications and valve components for nuclear applications. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and compressive strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Ni-236. Producer or source: Stoody Company.
