Abstract Bearium B-4, B-8, B-10, and B-11 are copper-base, high-lead bearing bronzes with superior resistance to scoring and seizure beyond the endurance and danger limits of ordinary bearing bronzes. It is used in applications involving high speeds, poor lubrications, heat-generating loads, elevated temperatures, dusty and gritty surroundings, or when a liquid other than oil is used as the lubricant. It is produced in four grades: B-4, B-8, B-10, and B-11. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on casting, forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: Cu-860. Producer or source: MetalTek International. Originally published as Bearium Metal, Alloy Digest Cu-258, September 1972, revised April 2017.
