The elastic scattering angular distributions of weakly bound nucleus$^{8}$Li on $^{7}$Li, $^{9}$Be, $^{12}$C, $^{13}$C, $^{14}$N,$^{27}$Al, $^{51}$V, $^{58}$Ni, and $^{208}$Pb are analyzed atvarious incident energies. For this purpose, the real potential isgenerated for nine different density distributions of the $^{8}$Linucleus by using the double folding model within the optical model. The theoretical results are in good agreement with the experimentaldata. In our study, also, new and practical sets of imaginarypotentials for the investigated densities are derived.

The elastic scattering cross-sections of [Formula: see text]Si projectile by [Formula: see text]Al, [Formula: see text]Si, [Formula: see text]Ni, [Formula: see text]Ni and [Formula: see text]Pb targets are analyzed using the double folding model based on the effective M3Y interaction which is known as the most popular density independent form. In the calculations of the double folding model, 16 different density distributions of [Formula: see text]Si nucleus are examined. A very good agreement between experimental data and theoretical results is obtained, and also the literature results support our results. In addition, dependence on incident energy, target atomic number and target mass number of the imaginary potential depth is studied, and new and global equations are proposed.

In this work, we simultaneously reanalyzed the differential elastic scattering cross-sections ([Formula: see text]) and the vector analyzing power ([Formula: see text]) of [Formula: see text]He elastic scattering. This analysis was performed using the folded optical model for both real central and spin-orbit (SO) potentials, respectively. For the imaginary central, we used the usual Woods-Saxon (WS) form. Three different model density distributions are used to calculate the potential. We aimed to examine the applicability of the microscopically derived SO potential and the structure effect of 6He nucleus. The presence of the [Formula: see text] experimental data of [Formula: see text]He makes it interesting for this study. Our calculations showed that the three densities gave similar predictions for the cross-sections data. The three microscopic SO potentials calculations of [Formula: see text] are not in a good agreement with the experimental data. We concluded that the SO formalism in its current form needs more investigations for exotic halo nuclei.

In the present study, two different density distributions of oxygen isotopes ([Formula: see text]O) that consist of the harmonic oscillator single-particle wave functions (SDHO) and the relativistic mean-field (RMF) approaches are investigated for the availability of elastic scattering cross-sections. For this purpose, the elastic scattering angular distributions of nuclear reactions with 13 target nuclei, four target nuclei and nine target nuclei are calculated for [Formula: see text]O, [Formula: see text]O and [Formula: see text]O, respectively. For these calculations, the double folding model based on the optical model is used. The optical potential parameters, volume integrals and cross-sections for all the nuclear reactions are given in this study. The comparison of theoretical results and experimental data shows very good agreement. The imaginary potential depth expressions, which will be new and more practical terms to explain the nuclear interactions of [Formula: see text]O, [Formula: see text]O and [Formula: see text]O with different nuclei, for each oxygen isotope are proposed.

In this study, a systematic analysis is made on the [Formula: see text]Ne nucleus. First, using different theoretical approaches, we show eight density distributions for the [Formula: see text]Ne nucleus. For there densities, we obtain the elastic scattering angular distributions of [Formula: see text]Ne by [Formula: see text]C and [Formula: see text]C targets. Then, to offer alternative nuclear potentials in explaining nuclear interactions related to [Formula: see text]Ne projectile, we calculate the elastic scattering cross-sections of [Formula: see text]C and [Formula: see text]C reactions by using six different nuclear potentials. Finally, we investigate cluster structures of the [Formula: see text]Ne nucleus via a simple cluster approach. We compare the calculated elastic scattering angular distributions with the experimental data.

Proton elastic scattering at various incident energies is one method to study nuclear density distributions and nuclear radii. Single folding potential describing the p-scattering on 40 Ca over a broad energy range 9–48.4 MeV is constructed. The resulting potential does not need any renormalization to fit the measured elastic scattering angular distributions and total reaction cross-sections. Furthermore, correlation between volume integral and proton incident energy is discussed. Theoretical calculations are in a good agreement with existing experimental data.

We have performed, elastic backscattering measurements for the weakly bound nuclei 6,7Li on the medium and heavy mass targets 58Ni, 116,120Sn, 208Pb at sub- and near-barrier energies (0.6 to 1.3 EC.b.). Excitation functions of elastic scattering cross sections have been measured at 160O and 170O and the corresponding ratios to Rutherford scattering and relevant barrier distributions have been extracted. These measurements will complement recent work on a 28Si target for probing the potential at sub- and near barrier energies and relevant reaction mechanisms.

The elastic scattering of deuterons, 3 He and 4 He on 6 Li at different incident energies have been analyzed in the framework of the optical model (OM) using ECIS88 as well as SPI GENOA codes. The optical potential parameters were extracted in the phenomenological treatment. A good agreement between theoretical and experimental differential cross-sections was obtained in whole angular range. Parameters for real part of potential have been also calculated microscopically with double-folding model for the d, 3 He and 4 He scattering, respectively, using DFPOT code. The elastic transfer mechanism has been studied by coupled reaction channel (CRC) method using FRESCO code. Spectroscopic amplitudes of 6 Li ≡ t + 3 He and 6 Li ≡ α + d configurations have been extracted from d, 3 He and 4 He scattering on 6 Li at wide energy range. A comparison between spectroscopic amplitudes obtained from deuteron and α elastically scattering from 6 Li has been made. The extracted spectroscopic amplitudes of 6 Li ≡ 4 He + d( SF = SA 2) from 6 Li (d, 6 Li )d and 6 Li (α, 6 Li )α are not the same as expected theoretically.

The elastic scattering angular distributions of 32S projectile by 12C, 27Al, 40Ca, 48Ca, 48Ti, 58Ni, 63Cu, 64Ni, 76Ge, 96Mo and 100Mo targets over the energy range 83.3 - 180 MeV are analyzed in the framework of the double folding model based on the optical model. The real part of the optical model potential is obtained by using double folding model for eight different density distributions of 32S which consist of Ngo, SP, 2pF, G1, G2, S, 3pF, and HFB. The imaginary part of the optical model potential is accepted as the Woods-Saxon (WS) potential. The theoretical results successfully reproduce the experimental data over both a wide energy and a wide target nucleus. Finally, simple and useful formulas which predict imaginary potential depths of each density are derived based on the elastic scattering results.

The effect of density variation on the optical-model (OM) analysis of 6Li + 58Ni is investigated by using bare potentials extracted from different density distributions of the weakly-bound 6Li nucleus. For each of the bare potentials, the real and imaginaru parts of the direct-reaction and fusion polarization potentials are deduced from respective X2 fittings to the elastic scattering and fusion data. The results obtained show that variations in the density distribution of the weakly-bound projectile can change the strengths of the dynamic direct-reaction polarization potential, however, it cannot make a noticeable difference on the OM predictions of fusion cross sections.

Abstract In this paper we calculate the elastic scattering cross sections of slow electron by carbon nanotubes. The corresponding electron-nanotube interaction is substituted by a zero-thickness cylindrical potential that neglects the atomic structure of real nanotubes, thus limiting the range of applicability of our approach to sufficiently low incoming electron energies. The strength of the potential is chosen the same that was used in describing scattering of electrons by fullerene C60. We present results for total and partial electron scattering cross sections as well as respective angular distributions, all with account of five lowest angular momenta contributions. In the calculations we assumed that the incoming electron moves perpendicular to the nanotube axis, since along the axis the incoming electron moves freely.
