Consumable double-electrode gas metal arc welding (consumable DE-GMAW) is a novel and high efficient welding method. According to the different polarity of two electrodes in consumable DE-GMAW, the metal transfer behaviors are analyzed by using the state force balance theory. For main torch with direct current electrode positive polarity, the arc root area is enlarged by bypass arc and increased electromagnetic force promotes main metal transfer. For bypass torch with direct current electrode negative polarity, the electromagnetic force does not work on the melting area. Only gravity force is major detaching force. The volume of bypass droplet is large and not easily detache to the weld pool.

Our aim was to develop a high-speed and high-accuracy mass measurement system to be used with a conveyor belt (a checkweigher). The objective in this paper was to present a dynamic model of our proposed measurement system. The checkweigher with an electromagnetic force balance system was approximated using a spring-mass-damper system as the physical model, and the equation of motion was derived. The model parameters could be obtained from experimental data. Finally, the validity of the proposed model was confirmed by comparison of the simulation results with the experimental responses. The dynamic model obtained offers practical and useful information to examine the control scheme and to achieve high-performance mass measurement.

A prototype all-coil electromagnetic force balance has been designed and built. This measurement system compares the mechanical force to an SI realization of electromagnetic force, which is driven from interaction of currents in radial coil set and levitation coil. The preliminary measurement results demonstrate that the magnetic field distribution and magnetic force output are consistent with the results by simulation.

This paper investigates the vibration which caused by electromagnetic on the stator end-winding of the large dry submersible motor. Firstly, the electromagnetic field which included transition state and steady state is researched by 3-D FEM. Secondly, the electromagnetic force which lead to vibrations of end-winding is calculated by numerical method, it can be obtained that where endured the largest force density along the slant part of end-winding. Finally, the radial displacement and the axial displacement of the slant part which caused by vibrations is studied, the analysis results show that the axial displacement is larger than the amplitude of radial displacement. It indicates that the slant part of end-winding will be more easily damaged at axial direction than radial direction.
