Improving the operational efficiency of chillers and science-based planning the cooling load distribution between the chillers and ice tank are core issues to achieve low-cost and energy-saving operations of ice storage air-conditioning systems. In view of the problems existing in centralized control architecture applied in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, a distributed multi-objective particle swarm optimization improved by differential evolution algorithm based on a decentralized control structure was proposed. The energy consumption, operating cost, and energy loss were taken as the objectives to solve the chiller’s hourly partial load ratio and the cooling ratio of ice tank. A large-scale shopping mall in Xi’an was used as a case study. The results show that the proposed algorithm was efficient and provided significantly higher energy-savings than the traditional control strategy and particle swarm optimization algorithm, which has the advantages of good convergence, high stability, strong robustness, and high accuracy. Practical application: The end equipment of the electromechanical system is the basic component through the building operation. Based on this characteristic, taken electromechanical equipment as the computing unit, this paper proposes a distributed multi-objective optimization control strategy. In order to fully explore the economic and energy-saving effect of ice storage system, the optimization algorithm solves the chillers operation status and the load distribution. The improved optimization algorithm ensures the diversity of particles, gains fast optimization speed and higher accuracy, and also provides a better economic and energy-saving operation strategy for ice storage air-conditioning projects.

In high power traction system applications two or more machines are fed by one converter. This topology results in a light, more compact and less costly system. These systems are called multi-machines single-converter systems. The problems posed by different electrical and mechanical couplings in these systems (MMS) affect various stages of the systems and require control strategy to reduce adverse effects. Control of multi-machines single-converter systems is the subject of this paper. The studied MMS is an electric vehicle with four in-wheel PMS motors. A three-leg inverter supplies two permanent magnet synchronous machines which are connected to the front right and rear right wheels, and another inverter supplies the left side. Several methods have been proposed for the control of multi-machines single-inverter systems, the master-slave control structure seems best adapted for our traction system. In this paper, a new control structure based on DTC method is used for the control of bi-machine traction system of an EV. This new control has been implanted in simulation to analyze its robustness in the presence of the various load cases involved in our electric vehicle traction chain. Simulation results indicated that this structure control allowed the stability of the traction system.

Multimotor drive system is widely applied in industrial control system. Considering the characteristics of multi-input multioutput, nonlinear, strong-coupling, and time-varying delay in two-motor drive systems, this paper proposes a new Smith internal model (SIM) control method, which is based on neural network generalized inverse (NNGI). This control strategy adopts the NNGI system to settle the decoupling issue and utilizes the SIM control structure to solve the delay problem. The NNGI method can decouple the original system into several composite pseudolinear subsystems and also complete the pole-zero allocation of subsystems. Furthermore, based on the precise model of pseudolinear system, the proposed SIM control structure is used to compensate the network delay and enhance the interference resisting the ability of the whole system. Both simulation and experimental results are given, verifying that the proposed control strategy can effectively solve the decoupling problem and exhibits the strong robustness to load impact disturbance at various operations.
