<div> <p>The aim of this search was to identify the 101 top cited articles in the field of oil spill remediation. A search was conducted based on a database of the Web of Science included the journal citation reports from 1980 to 2013. The number of citations of the first 101 top cited articles is from 24 to 816. The decades with most top-cited articles published were 2000-2009 (47 articles) and 1990-1999 (37 articles). The most common research area of study was environmental science ecology. All the articles were published in 54 different journals in this category. Journals with the highest number of cited articles were <em>Applied and Environmental Microbiology</em> (10 articles), <em>Environmental Science and Technology</em> (6 articles), <em>Organic Geochemistry </em>(6 articles), <em>Chemosphere</em> (5 articles). Among the top cited articles the mostly named author were Sakkata Y, and Uddin MA with 6 of articles, followed by Fedorak PM with 5. Out of 101 top cited articles, 14, 13 and 12 articles originated from Canada, USA and France, respectively. Okayama and Alberta Universities were the most common productive institutions. Based on our knowledge, this is the first report of the 101 top cited articles in this category.</p> </div> <p>&nbsp;</p>

The aim of the study within this framework, articles published on Neuromarketing between 2013 and 2018 were examined separately in the title and topic categories on the Web of Science (WOS) site and is aimed to analyse the status of the articles in the last 5 years. Articles with desired properties are parsed and internationally published articles have been reached. Before data is thrown into the CiteSpace V program, the implementation steps you will see on the next pages have been implemented individually. Bibliometric analysis was evaluated as visual, textual and statistical analysis by filling the relevant fields according to the results of the desired analysis. According to the number of citations in the studies, the author's name, country analysis of articles, institutions where authors work, article page numbers, publication type, research area, year of publication of articles, source title, and document type were examined.

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate the association between language and total number of citations found among documents in journals written in English and other languages. We selected all the journals clustered together in the Journal Citation Reports 2014 under the subject category “Veterinary Sciences” and downloaded all the data registered between 1994-2013 by Web of Science for the journals that stated publishing documents in languages other than English. We classified each of these journals by quartile and extracted information regarding their impact factor, language(s) stated, country of origin, total number of documents published, total number of reviews published, percentage of documents published in English and the quartile in which each journal ranked. Of the 48,118 documents published by the 28 journals analyzed, 55.8% were published in English. Interestingly, although most of the journals state being multi-language, most documents published in quartile 1 journals were in English (an average of 99.2%), while the percentage was 93.1% in quartile 2 journals, 62.1% in quartile 3 journals and 27.4% in quartile 4 journals. We also confirmed that citation distribution in these journals was highly skewed. The results of this study suggest that journals should consider adopting English as the main language as this will increase citation counts and the impact factor of the journal.

Abstract Microplastics (MPs) pollution has garnered significant interest as a serious environmental problem. To date, a large amount of research has been published on this topic. We analyzed the related studies to assess the global developments of MPs regarding the evolution, research trends, and hotspots by bibliometric. A total of 2,872 bibliographic records were retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection, and CiteSpace 5.4 was used for bibliometrics. The results visually displayed the contributing countries, institutions, authors, keywords, and potential research directions in the MPs fields. The scientific developments in this field began in 2004 and have accelerated considerably since 2012. China and the USA are the leading countries in MPs research. The research on MPs is multidisciplinary and involves Ecology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, and Oceanography. Among these, Oceanography was the most connected with MPs and was the most well-developed. Overall, we mapped the development of MPs research and attempted a comprehensive discussion and understanding of scientific advances, as well as the progress made.

The main aim of this study is to analyze from a bibliometric point of view the research trend in spatial analysis for landscape changes using the records published in the Web of Science database in the last twenty years. Several parameters such as documents published per year, sources of documents, number of citations as well as VOSviewer software and GIS are used for the analysis of different metrics such as the number of citations, co-authorship network, and keyword occurrences. Analysis of the number of papers, their keywords, and authorships countries shows the research trend in the specific topics of the spatial analysis for landscape changes and consequently can constitute a benchmark for researchers who approach this research topic.

SUMMARY BACKGROUND. This study aimed to evaluate the scientific production of researchers in the field of Medicine who receive a productivity grant from the CNPq. METHODS: The curriculum Lattes of 542 researchers with active grants from 2012 to 2014 were included in the analysis. Grants categories/levels were stratified into three groups according to the CNPq database (1A-B, 1C-D, and 2). RESULTS. There was a predominance of grants in category 2. During their academic career, Medicine researchers published 76512 articles, with a median of 119 articles per researcher (IQ, interquartile range, 77 to 174). Among the 76512 articles, 36584 (47.8%) were indexed in the Web of Science (WoS database). Researchers in Medicine were cited 643159 times in the WoS database, with a median of 754 citations (IQ, 356 to 1447). There were significant differences among the categories of grants concerning the number of citations in WoS (P <0.001). There was a significant difference in the number of times researchers were cited according to the specialty included in Medicine area. (P < 0.001). CONCLUSION. Strategies to improve the scientific output qualitatively possibly can be enhanced by the knowledge of the profile of researchers in the field of Medicine.

The diagnosis of neck pain is challenging. Many visceral disorders are known to cause it, and clinical practice guidelines recommend to rule them out during neck pain diagnosis. However, the absence of suspicion of any cause impedes one from establishing that specific aetiology as the final diagnosis. To investigate the degree of consideration given to visceral aetiology, a systematic search of trials about neck pain was carried out to evaluate their selection criteria. The search yielded 309 eligible articles, which were screened by two independent reviewers. The PEDro scale score was used to assess the methodological quality of the studies. The following information was retrieved: number of authors affiliated to a clinical or non-clinical institution, number of citations in the Web of Science, study aims, characteristics of participants, and eligibility criteria. The top 15 most cited trials, and the 15 most recent studies about treatment efficacy in neck pain, published in first quartile journals of the Journal Citation Reports, were selected. Females represented 67.5% of participants. A single study was of poor methodological quality (4/10). Based on the eligibility criteria of the articles that were systematically reviewed, it would appear that visceral aetiology was not considered in eighty percent of the trials on neck pain, showing a low level of suspicion both in research and clinical settings.

The present study aims to assess highly cited articles using altmetrics and citations and identify the relationship between them. The statistical population consists of all the highly cited articles on surgery indexed on the Web of Science. The number of article citations was measured using the Web of Science and the altmetric score of the articles using the Altmetric Bookmarklet. The analysis of the data was carried out using descriptive statistics and Spearman’s correlation coefficient. Of the 1077 highly cited surgery articles, 62.74 per cent had an altmetric score. The highest number of received citations was 1787, and the highest altmetric score was 2019. A positive and significant correlation was observed between the number of citations and the policy-making documents, Wikipedia citations and CiteULike (P<0.001). A positive but non-significant correlation was also observed between the number of citations and the number of Mendeley readers (r=0.02, P>0.05). A poor, negative and significant correlations were observed between the number of citations and the overall altmetric score of the highly cited surgery articles (r=-0.235, P<0.001). The findings may be due to the different pattern of using social media by the surgery researchers compared to the researchers of other fields. Altmetrics can only be used to complement citations and not replace them.

Gamification is the use of game design elements in non-game contexts and it is gaining momentum in a wide range of areas including education. Despite increasing academic research exploring the use of gamification in education, little is known about teachers' main drivers and barriers to using gamification in their courses. Through the search conducted on Web of Science database with the keywords "teacher” and “gamification", the study is based on the analysis of the documents published. All articles published in Web of Science were examined. Their distribution by the years, subject areas, document types, organization, author, country/regions, sources, meeting titles, language and the research area theme have been examined. The varied findings reveal that the analysis of the studies published on Web of Science database is important in terms of content for the significance by teacher through gamification. Gamification is used by teacher for effective results. The findings of the review provide insights for further studies as well as for the design of gamified systems

Geographical analysis of scientific communication is given in the article based on comparison of geographical distribution of the authors and their citations in English and Russian peer-reviewed journals. Despite the urgency of the problem of inclusion of Russian scientists in the international scientific community, studies of geography of scientific communication between Russian and foreign colleagues are poorly developed. As a model the geographic analysis of the articles with the keyword «periphery» is chosen as one of the main concepts in the World Geography. The databases of the Web of Science, ArticlesPlus, and Elibrary were used for the analysis. Because of evident peripheral location of the Russian articles in the Web of Science database the analysis of distribution of citations was based on wider data bases of ArticlesPlus and Elibrary. It was noted that the articles in English follow the trends described above, while in the Russian papers the native specificity was distinguished by centralized arrangement of space, as well as by close connections with the neighboring countries. As a result, it was concluded that the peripheral location of the Russian geographic articles is associated not only with the language barrier, but also with the limited number of citations in the Russian articles. The practical implications of the articles are related to the prospects of creating an application that would make geographical maps of citation networks based on the given key words or the names of the authors.

AbstractBackground and Purpose: In this paper, we aim to propose a guideline for further research towards development of an adaptive strategic IT governance (ITG) model for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). The use of IT has the potential to be the major driver for success, as well it provides an opportunity to achieve competitive advantage and support digital transformation. In order to achieve IT benefits, enterprises need an effective and successful ITG model, which follows and adapts to business needs. Available ITG models are too generic and do not differentiate for enterprises of different industry, size, maturity etc.Methodology: In order to review existing ITG mechanisms, their definitions and identify contingency factors, we performed an extensive literature review (LR). For the initial set of databases, we used the list of journals, which are indexed in the Journal Citation Reports. We also used Web of Science to identify articles with the highest number of citations.Results: This paper provides the most important definitions of ITG and proposes its comprehensive definition. Next to this, we introduce ITG mechanisms, which are crucial for the effective implementation and use of ITG. Lastly, we identify contingency factors that influence ITG implementation and its use.Conclusion: Despite extensive research in ITG area, considerable work is still needed to improve understanding of ITG, its definition and mechanisms. Multiple efforts to develop methods for governing IT failed to achieve any significant adoption rate of ITG mechanisms. To enable ITG to become an integral part of Corporate Governance, further research needs to focus on the development of an adaptive strategic ITG model. In this paper, we propose a next step for more practical method for ITG implementation and its use.
