As research institute, the performance of Balai Arkeologi Yogyakarta is determined by the guality and productivity in disseminating and publishing the results of their research to the public. In the era of digitization, it is necessary for the institute to enhance their service to the public, especially academia as well as other stakeholders. To attain this, Balai Arkeologi Yogyakarta, through its Documentation and Information Working Group, attempts to improve its performance in the management of data by converting the research data from hard copy into soft copy. Such improvement is solely intended to enhance the service guality and productivity of the institution to the public. The important role of the institution will not be appreciated by public if the institution is unable to deliver the results of their research in good and attractive presentation. Therefore, service marketing approach needs to be applied to improve the dissemination of service and information by Balai Arkeologi Yogyakarta. This article describes how the improvement of service guality and productivity of research results are carried out in the institution.

Providing access to the data underlying research results in published literature allows others to reproduce those results or analyze the data in new ways. Health sciences librarians and information professionals have long been advocates of data sharing. It is time for us to practice what we preach and share the data associated with our published research. This editorial describes the activity of a working group charged with developing a research data sharing policy for the Journal of the Medical Library Association.

An important aspect of archaeology is communicating the significance of data and research results to a fascinated, although often uninformed public. However, on the basis of book sales, newspaper coverage, television programming, and film presentations, it would seem that the public is inordinately fascinated by the more extreme, speculative, and often pseudoscientific claims made by those purporting to use archaeological data. Through questionnaires distributed to undergraduate students and to professional, teaching archaeologists, I made an attempt to comprehend the nature of the public's appetite for pseudoscientific archaeological claims. The role of education in refuting or perpetuating pseudoscience in archaeology was then assessed.

AbstractThe archaeologist's role in public life is not limited to only understanding, reflecting and informing on the past, but also should reveal who we are at present and help society in manoeuvring into the future. We are a major part of the public intellectuals who should intervene in public debate, not only in the media but also as a part of the decision-making process. We can contribute to making a difference in many aspects of human life, intellectually, socially, culturally and politically. This paper will aim to shed light on my involvement in the Israeli–Palestinian Archaeology Working Group (IPAWG). I will focus on how a small group of archaeologists has contributed positively to one of the most complicated political conflicts in modern history. I will also address an example from Al-Jib to indicate the role of archaeologists as scientists, citizens and public figures.

Research data management is a system that helps in archiving and retrieving of research data to reuse and preserving them for long term use. Many universities in developed countries have already started providing RDM services to their researchers and academicians. In India, it is still in the initial stage. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the perceptions of researchers and academicians of Parul University on research data management and research data sharing. It also explores the ways the researchers preserved their research data for future use. It also explores the ways the library can take initiatives to encourage and extend support to the researchers and academicians to the organisation, preservation, and sharing of research data. To investigate and study the problem 100 questionnaires were distributed. There are 88 responses we received out of 100. The study revealed that the majority of respondents were agreeing about the research data sharing and free accessibility of research data to browse and reuse. Researchers are very much interested and agreed in the library’s involvement in organizing and preservation of research data. Researchers and faculty members are more concerned about their intellectual property rights while sharing the data on the public domain.

Depression is defined as a condition when people has a prolonged feeling of uselessness and a thought of suicide, and hard to expressed their feelings. Based on pre-research data, it was found that the age of 12 – 24 is an age where symptoms of depression appear, and potentially lead to suicide. This is due to the lack of literacy and public awareness of depression, which has eventually led to various stigma in public, thus cause the community's function as a support system was not going well. Communities in this case are people who are close to people with depression has strong influence to help them through the healing process. One important role of the community is providing accompaniment and mental support for people with depression, so they do not feel alone. Therefore, a good understanding and awareness is needed for the community to become a good support system for people with depression. In order to increase the public awareness and convey messages related to depression, the creator of the work did a campaign "Kenali Aku" that used The Nine Steps for Strategic Planning of Public Relations concept by Ronald D. Smith. This campaign has several activities such as education through social media, social experiment, and seminars (education that conducted in three regions in DKI Jakarta).
