Formal institutions are needed in proposing permits for the use of Social Forestry. The institution in question is the Forest Farmer Group that does not yet exist in Sattoko Village. This activity discusses steps to legally manage the waterfall in the forest area of Sattoko village so that it can be managed into ecotourism. From this FGD it was agreed that through the facilitation of the village head in the future a Forest Farmer Group would soon be formed as an initial step in the process of proposing a Social Forestry program.

This community service aims to increase insight into the use of goat manure as fertilizer mixed with dolomite with very minimal expenditure of money using equipment provided by the USU Community Service Team in 2019 which was carried out in Persadanta Village, Barusjahe District, Karo District. The specific target of this service is to increase the productivity of agricultural products related to the use of fertilizers and be able to sell them to other communities, so as to increase community income for the achievement of a prosperous community, especially farmer groups in the village. So far, the people directly use goat manure as fertilizer for their plants. This is very detrimental to the community because the process is long to be able to become fertilizer and reduced nutrient elements that are poured into plants openly. Besides the use of dolomite mixed with goat manure is very good because dolomite is very much and easily obtained in Tanah Karo. Therefore, it is necessary to give insight and knowledge to the community, especially the Rumah Rih Hamlet Village Group Persadanta Village about the use of goat manure mixed with dolomite. So that people who have been buying fertilizer at a high price can manage it themselves by using the goat manure grinding equipment with the method to be implemented, namely counseling, training, direct practice and work evaluation.

This article is the result from our fieldwork to observed about the rule of regulation the social forestry in South Solok, West Sumatera. As this research uses etnoscience approach where the informant will be choosed by perposive sampling. Since the rule of LHK/83 is implemeted in South Solok that became strategic place of political ecology for advantaging the village forest in the Customary Land of the Alam Surambi Sungai Pagu. Based on the results, there are differences in customary communal tenure between the darek region whose control is held by penghulu andiko, while the rantau region whose control is given to rajo. Rajo is the head of the tribe who is in 4 the customary land in Alam Surambi Sungai Pagu. In the Alam Surambi Sungai Pagu community, the forest processing is divided into three, namely; 1) ulayat suku is an unprocessed highland forest or rimbo gadang; 2) ulayat kaum or harato pusako tinggi, which is a land of ancestor from ninik nan salapan and ninik 60 kurang like rice fields or sawah and will be passed on daughters; 3) ulayat saparuik, also known as Harato Pusako Randah, is a family property from parents or property owned by their father and mother during marriage in the form of fields or rimbo randah. After the issuance of 5 decrees of The Village Forest in Alam Surambi Sungai Pagu, some of rimbo gadang began to be used as a Village Forest, moreover the use of the forest began to take into account the nagari government. Hence, the boundaries of 4 customary land begin to blur. In addition, the existence of Nagari Forest does not only provide the legality for the people of Alam Surambi Sungai Pagu, but also provides the benefits for outside communities, LPHN and mining companies.

Farming in the dry season is a difficult job to do, because it is constrained by the limited availability of water. This situation occurred in the village of Pasirnanjung which caused agricultural activities to cease. In order that agriculture can continue to run, a micro-scale agricultural mitigation can be applied during dry-season by planting in polybags based on bokhasi fertilizer in the yard of the house. Bokashi is an organic material that can improve the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil, that has an effect on plants growth and yield. Empowerment of farmers have been carried out in Pasirnanjung village, from August to September 2018, by the methode of counseling, training, demonstration and planting. The participants were joined by 14 groups, 11 farmer groups, 1 Putra Karya Sejahtera Youth Group, 1 Mawar Lestari Women's Farmers Group and 1 Nanjung Jaya Gapoktan Group. Training materials include preparation of tools and materials, seedling of vegetable seeds, making bokashi, preparation of planting media, planting, cultivating and harvesting. As a result, each group can make bokashi and can grow vegetables in a polybag in their yard during the dry season. This activity will have a good impact on the acceleration of the realization the village government program to make agricultural education village and ecovillage.

The Sesaot forest area has been managed by the community through the Social Forestry scheme with an agroforestry system. The objectives of the study were to identify the diversity of agroforestry patterns, analyze incomes on various agroforestry patterns, analyze the amount of carbon stock and analyze the most optimal agroforestry patterns. The method used is descriptive through a series of observations, interviews and Focus Group Discussions, to 42 respondents and measurement of carbon stocks in 18 farmer locations. Analysis of agroforestry patterns was carried out by making clusters based on plant dominance, analyzing the amount of carbon using allometric equations and analyzing the optimal value of agroforestry patterns using scoring. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that: there are four agroforestry patterns in the Sesaot Forest Area, namely, candlenut dominant agroforestry, mahogany dominant agroforestry, mixed agroforestry and simple agroforestry. The largest income was obtained in the mixed agroforestry pattern and the smallest was in the mahogany dominant. Meanwhile, the largest amount of carb on stock was found in the mahogany dominant and the smallest was in the simple agroforestry. The results of the scoring analysis show that mixed agroforestry practices are in the most optimal category compared to other agroforestry patterns.

The challenge of integrating ecological, economic and social aspects of forest management is still a critical issue among stakeholders who agree on community-based forestry and the rights of indigenous peoples. In West Papua, the contrast of abundant natural resources with serious social inequalities and structured poverty is a continuing challenge for implementing a social forestry program. The process of establishing customary territories in West Papua is an important milestone in recognising its community entities. Is this scheme definitively able to answer the interests of access and management of indigenous peoples? This can help in achieving the sacred goal of protecting 70% of the forest area. This paper examines the dynamics of forest management in West Papua by the parties in customary forests. The low area designated for customary territories in West Papua, which has only reached 2,554.2 hectares, and the absence of a decree on the existence of customary forests is a form of injustice to the interests of local communities. The social forestry acceleration program intended to end the uncertainty surrounding customary forests is still in process. The roles of both on-site and off-site parties have not been optimal in realising customary forests in West Papua due to the complex and incomplete translation process at the site level. The results of the review show that interest is still focused on achieving an indicative-annual figure, which is still dominated by the village forest scheme. Hopefully, this year's acceleration of customary forests will become a milestone in West Papua, based on mutual need and desire.
