PT. Phapros Tbk is one of the oldest and biggest pharmaceutical company in Indonesia. As raw material inventory plays a key role to compete in this type of industry, it is important for PT. Phapros, Tbk to keep it well maintained. However, the Production Planning and Inventory Control Division, whose responsibility is planning and controlling the raw material has not implemented the Material Requirement Planning (MRP) method that causes a problem regarding the overstock of captopril, the ingredient for producing captopril 25 mg tablet. There are too much raw materials ordered and ends up with higher expense. The author proposed a lotting method to develop an efficient raw material planning. Results shows that using Wagner Within Algorithm method can help the company minimizes the total expense spent by Rp 984.977.

This study discusses the application of the material requirements planning (MRP) method in the planning of raw materials in a furniture company. The purpose of this research is to know the planning of raw materials for furniture products in UD. AA, determine the most suitable inventory model to be applied to material inventory planning and analyze the role of the MRP system in raw material procurement planning. The forecasting method used is the quantitative method of time series analysis, determining the master production schedule, calculating lot sizing (LFL, EOQ, POQ methods). From determining the Master Production Schedule, it is found that the cabinet production plan for the next three months is 4 units per period or week, and based on the calculation of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) it can be seen what components are needed for the manufacture of cabinets, how many and when each component is required. Therefore it is obtained that the total raw material requirement for wood for the next three months is 11.34 m³.

Inventory management without Material Requirement systems in CV. Bangun Cipta Artha resulted in the lot size for each order of raw materials not optimal. One concept that can be used to plan and control raw materials is the Material Requirement Planning. This study is to determine the number of sizes of raw material orders, the exact order time, the method that produces the lowest cost for each raw material, and the effect of using MRP on inventory costs. This research conducted on 160x200cm spring bed products. Data was analyzed by making production master schedules, determining net requirements, determining lot size, and making MRP tables. Based on the results, the determination the best lot sizing is the order quantiy period which results in a total inventory cost of Rp. 26,475,220 where the total cost is lower, compared to lot for lot method which Rp. 43,464,000. part period balancing Rp. 33,106,576, and conventional method Rp.49,472,912. Keywords: Material Requirement Planning (MRP), Sizing Lot, Lot For Lot, Balancing Part Period, Period Order Quantiy

The purpose of this study is to determine the most appropriate forecasting to predict the demand for raw materials of laundry in 2017, determine the results of the Material Requirement Planning calculation using lot permits, and to determine the total cost-efficiency of the conventional calculation method with the Material Requirement Planning method. The research method used is quantitative research, descriptive research type, and time horizon is cross-sectional for all data collection. This study uses Exponential smoothing (QM for Windows) forecasting, as an illustration, to determine the number of raw material requirements by using the analysis method, Material Requirement Planning with lot sizing measurements used are Lot for Lot, Economic Order Quantity, and Period Order Quantity. Of the three methods, the analysis results illustrate that the Lot for Lot method produces the lowest total cost of IDR. 56,160,000, compared to the total costs incurred using the company's conventional method of IDR. 175,985,288,2, So, the Material Requirement Planning method can reduce the company's inventory costs

This research was made with the aim to make production planning and inventory control in manufacturing company of plastic glass, especially for main raw material from 14 oz plastic cup product, that is Resin-HE 2.0 and whitening using lot sizing method. Due to the fluctuating demand and the accumulation of raw materials in the warehouse, the company needs for production planning and inventory control. The lot-sizing method used in this research is Period Order Quantity (POQ), Lot For Lot (LFL) and Fixed Period Requirement (FPR) which each method have a different concept. The result by using FPR Method 3 weeks and LFL in inventory control will give the lowest inventory cost to the company that is equal to Rp. 159.400,00 for Resin-HE 2.0 and Rp. 39.600,00 for whitening.

This research discusses the planning and inventory control of raw materials in PT Rackindo Setara Perkasa which is one of the manufacturer in Indonesia which is engaged in the industry of knock-down furniture. The purpose of this study is to planning and controlling the inventory of raw materials with the lowest cost. The research is conducted to develop demand forecast in 2016, to develop the aggregate planning using LINGO software, then continued in the design of the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP). This research discusses the comparison of several methods of Lot Sizing in MRP, such as the Economic Order Quantity (EOQ), Period Order Quantity (POQ) and Least Total Cost (LTC). The selected Lot Sizing method is a method with the lowest inventory cost.

Keywords: Inventory Control, Forecasting, Aggregate Planning, Lot Sizing, Master Production Schedule, Material Requirement Planning

A Production Planning System was made for a snacks’ production Company by the development of a MRP system in order to increase the present production and to meet the demand. The methodology used was Material Requirement Planning (MRP) that basically consists in a logic system able to manage and control material requirement planning based on a number of pieces, components and material needed for manufacturing, in other words, it is a production planning system. The outcome of the Project has been an application with MRP features, with complements such as line balance, purchasing Budget of raw materials, among other things. The application relies on protection of information and backup by the same. The executable application of MRP system has contributed to reduce 50% the production breach at the company, as well as reducing waste in a 40%, idle time in a 50% and raw material costs in a 25%, achieving the stated goal.

The object of this study is the inventory system of manufacturing companies with sock products in Tangerang, Banten. Types of socks produced are plain white socks, black socks, and small socks. This study aims to determine the description of the planning and control of raw material inventory and find out how much raw materials to be prepared as well as the total cost of production produced by applying the method of Material Requirement Planning from the production process. In its production activities, the company uses 4 main raw materials making white socks namely Polyester White yarn, Spandex, Nylon, and Rubber. In one day, production produces 3 dozen socks. The raw materials used are 1 cone yarn for 2.5 dozen. So to produce 3 dozen socks a day, it takes 1.2 cone threads. From the analysis, it is known that the booking fee is Rp.28000 per message and the storage fee is Rp.2000 per unit per year. Thus the value of economic needs or Economic Order Quantity generated is 157 units. Thus, for Polyester White yarn material (75%) requires 47.1 cones, Spandex yarn (15%) requires 9,42 cones, nylon yarn (5%) and rubber yarn (5%) equally require 3.14 cone. Set up fee Rp.156586 while the storage fee Rp.157000 so the total cost Rp.313586.

Keywords: Socks, Material Requirement Planning, Economic Quantity

The management of raw material inventory is used to overcome the problems occuring especially in the food industry to achieve effectiveness, timeliness, and high service levels which are contrary to the problem of effectiveness and cost efficiency. The inventory control system is built to achieve the optimization of raw material inventory cost in the supply chain in food industry. This research represents Differential Evolution (DE) algorithm as optimization method by minimizing total inventory based on amount of raw material requirement, purchasing cost, saefty stock and reorder time. With the population size, the parameters of mutation control, crossover parameters and the number of iterations respectively 80, 0.8, 0.5, 200. With the amount of safety stock at the company 7213.95 obtained a total inventory cost decrease of 39.95%. Result indicate that the use of DE algorithm help providein efficient amount, time and cost.
