Although Catholic monasteries are theoretically out of the world, monks and nuns more and more use the internet, both for religious and non-religious reasons. While society at large often takes it for granted that monks are out of modernity, monastic communities have been adopted media from relatively early on, and we cannot say that they have come late to its use. The internet can offer monasteries a lot of advantages because it allows monks to be in the world without going out of the cloister. Nevertheless, the introduction of this new media in monasteries also raises a lot of questions about the potential contradictions it poses with other aspects of monastic life. The paper seeks to research the use of the medium by monks and nuns even in their daily lives, and  attempts especially to investigate the potential changes it brings to monastic life.

Almost all corners of the world have been affected or affected by this Covid-19 virus disease, even some countries have set a lockdown status and other anticipations for the spread of the Covid-19 virus. The alternative used in this bold learning activity system is to utilize the internet network, namely the Zoom Meeting and Classroom application. This study aims to determine students' perceptions of the use of internet networks such as zoom meetings and classrooms used and how effective learning is during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research conducted here uses descriptive qualitative research methods. And the results of this study indicate that the zoom application is an application that is very effective and preferred by students because it is easier to use and very efficient when the learning process is bold and shows that some students who give their perception of the application used during learning that are brave are the Zoom Meeting application, namely the application. Zoom Meeting. by 66.7%, followed by the Google Meet application at 22.2% and the Classrom application at 11.1%.

This paper sets out to consider the use of new media technologies in the city-state of Singapore, widely acknowledged as one of the most technologically-advanced and networked societies in the world. Singapore is well-known as a politically censorious and highly-regulated society, which has been subjected to frequent and fierce insults and criticisms by those hailing from liberal democratic traditions. Indeed, much has been said about how the Singapore polity resonates with a climate of fear, which gives rise to the prevalent practice of self-censorship. This paper examines how certain groups in Singapore attempt to employ the Internet to find their voice and seek their desired social, cultural and political ends, and how the regulatory devices adopted by the highly pervasive People Action's Party (PAP) government respond to and set limits to these online ventures whilst concomitantly pursuing national technological cum economic development strategies. It concludes that the Internet in Singapore is a highly contested space where the art of governmentality, in the forms of information controls and 'automatic' modes of regulation, is tried, tested, and subsequently perfected.

In Chapter 4, data collected through ethnographic research and structured interviews are used to argue that new media tools when used, can profoundly alter social and political practices in Kuwait. Internet use removes inhibitions, gives the public a voice, encourages people to demand access to current, transparent news and information, and enables citizens to become more engaged and active in the world. In the words of one 55 year old female Kuwaiti participant, the Internet “opens the eyes of the younger generation and because of this, they find more freedom to exercise and they can compare freedom in their countries to that in other countries” (Interview, July 2009, Kuwait City). Explanations for the increasingly volatile political and social environment in Kuwait are explored in light of new media use. The persistence of patriarchy in spite of enhanced civic engagement reveals the puzzling nature of oppositional compliance in the emirate.

This study focuses on the historical process of DC Comics and Marvel Comics which are the leading companies that have made way for the comics to develop and take form in terms of advertising narrative. First of all, the history of DC Comics and Marvel Comics has been analyzed in a general framework in order to question the process in advertising history. At this point, the advertisements of these companies have been limited to the ones they have on the internet and the ones that give relevant data for the study. In addition to this, the study of narrative advertising of comics today, apart from the examples of DC Comics and Marvel Comics in their own cinematic universe, has been narrowed down to the Pegasus Airlines' commercial relating to Marvel Comics and Turkish Airlines' commercial relating to DC Comics. The result of a general review indicates that DC Comics and Marvel Comics have come to a turning point in terms of narrative advertising by creating a cinematic universe and with the means of new media becoming popular around the world.

The advent of Internet technologies since decades ago has propelled distance learning drastically. In this modern world, knowledge develops so fast that the amount of intellectual information that needs to be learnt before it becomes obsolete again is so huge. Distance learning through the use of Internet technologies has the advantage of being able to get across the information to the students remotely and effortlessly. The other advantage, which is the main focus of this paper, is that students are able to learn from their instructors on an entirely new media platform - the Internet-enabled and tangible user interface. This paper discusses how to use two main new media: multi-modal Internet technologies, namely remote physical interface and remote augmented reality technology in distance learning.

The Internet is an important innovation in information science and technology and profoundly affects people in their daily lives. To date, these effects have been construed in overly individualistic ways and often all too negatively. For example, the Internet is seen by many as an individual means for obtaining or sending information flexibly and efficiently (e.g., Dreyfus, 2001). Some researchers also claim that participation on the Internet often leads to feelings of isolation and depression and even negatively affects relationships with one’s family members and friends (Kraut et al., 1998; cf. Kraut et al., 2002; UCLA Internet Report, 2003). Likewise, Dreyfus (2001) takes a generally pessimistic tone with regard to Internet usage and worries that when we engage the Internet, it “diminishes one’s sense of reality and of the meaning in one’s life” and “…we might…lose some of our crucial capacities: our ability to make sense of things so as to distinguish the relevant from the irrelevant, our sense of the seriousness of success and failure that is necessary for learning, and our need to get a maximum grip on the world that gives us our sense of the reality of things.”

Analysis of E-marketing Strategies The Internet has led to an increasingly connected environment, and the growth of Internet usage has resulted in declining distribution of traditional media: television, radio, newspapers and magazines. Marketing in this connected environment and the use of that connectivity to market is e-marketing. E-Marketing embraces a wide range of strategies, but what underpins successful e-marketing is a user-centric and cohesive approach to these strategies. While the Internet and the World Wide Web have enabled what we call New Media, the theories that led to the development of the Internet have been developed since the 1950s. This paper focuses on only e-marketing strategies, not the plan of e-marketing.

With the emergence of social networks on the Internet, the marketing of services, especially tourism services, depends on the human factor itself through the exchange and exchange of information about tourist areas, traditional products, hotels and others. The new era has begun to depend on the consumers themselves and their contribution to the promotion of services and places... With the rapid development of social networks, especially Facebook, the importance of harnessing these sites to serve the tourism industry in the countries of the world in general and Algeria in particular, where the industry depends largely on the views of consumers and the spread of information among them, which opened a wide door to identify the places of tourism and hotels and offer services from By visiting people and benefiting from their services, which positively affects other users who may one day be tourists in the same areas. A Child is an Internet’s Consumer We live in very strange times. Dynamic changes are taking place in front of our eyes. Every day, new, innovative devices, programs and software are created. The world has sped up and people have to adapt to it in the best way possible. Being able to filter so much information is not easy for adults, and even harder for children that are just learning everything. Therefore, it is worth asking yourself whether everything that the world gives us is good, and if not, can we see it? If so, can we protect children from the negative effects of new media and modern technology and teach them to use wisely the benefits of today? The article describes the media, their importance in the modern world and their split. Social media, which are currently considered one of the greatest achievements of mankind, as well as the Internet, where its functions, advantages, but also the dangers it brings are presented in more detailed way. Television, which plays an important role in family life, is also described in this work. The next chapter presents the results of the own research. During the interviews, the students answered questions about what electronic devices they use most often, what websites they use most often, what time they spend in front of the screen/on the Internet and if they know the dangers of using the Internet. In addition, during the study, students’ knowledge of the advantages of using the Internet was tested, why they use internet and how people using internet are controlled. The conclusions of this study are varied. What is the most importantly, we still don’t know exactly how to keep children protected from modern media. Among parents and teachers there is a lot of missing knowledge. It is important to educate teachers, parents but as well children about that. All this can help us to ensure that young people, as well as adults, will only the benefits from what the modern world offer them.

The role played by representations in the lives of cities endows the study of their production and distribution in various media with importance. Today, the Internet, that amorphous network linking much of the world, is a powerful new media for the imagination of city spaces and hence in need of investigation. In this article, I focus on the online encyclopaedia Wikipedia, one of the most popular websites on the Internet. My aim is to explore the representations of two of the largest sub-Saharan African cities, Lagos and Kinshasa, in their respective Wikipedia articles. Wikipedia has been described as the encyclopaedia anyone can edit, suggesting that it is open to multiple perspectives on any particular topic. Given the history of how Africa in general has been either marginalized or conjured as an exotic or miserable “other” by much media work this potential for wider range of representations should not be overlooked. Does Wikipedia live up to its reputation in the case of Kinshasa and Lagos?
