THE IMPROVING OF ENGLISH COMPETENCE FOR LECTURERS OF FACULTY OF TEACHER TRAINING AND EDUCATION OF UNIVERSITY OF MATHLA’UL ANWAR BANTEN. This community service activity is motivated by the thought that the need for lecturers to have good competence in using English in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. With the hope that through its application, students become more enthusiastic in learning. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide scientific assistance to the lecturers of FKIP Unma Banten in using English in the teaching and learning process. While the benefits of this activity are to have a positive effect on the lecturers of FKIP Unma Banten in communicating using English in class and the increasing enthusiasm and achievement of FKIP Unma Banten students in learning.  This service activity was carried out in the form of short training for two meetings with members of 10 lecturers held in the hall of FKIP Unma Banten. The first meeting discussed the importance of English, introducing word, clause, and sentences, mastering tenses by using smart fingers technique. The second meeting was a deepening of the material followed by the practice of TOEFL questions and the practice of speaking English in everyday life with simple sentences by participants of FKIP Unma Banten lecturers. The method used in this community service activity is the lecture method, question and answer, discussion and demonstration methods. Based on observations during this community service activity, several positive results were obtained. The results of this community service are the increased insight of FKIP Unma Banten lecturers on English language material and its application in the teaching and learning process in the classroom.

This community service activity was held in SMA Hang Tuah 3 Mataram, NTB Province.  This school is located approximately 6 km from the location of the team. Located in the center of Mataram city. The purpose of this activity is to make the teachers in SMA Hang Tuah 3 Mataram know the ways of writing and the forms of a paper and ultimately be able to automatically express their ideas, ideas and experiences during the teaching and learning process into a scientific writing eligible to be published in an ISSN journal. The training activities were held because to the collaboration of both parties namely SMA Hang Tuah 3 Mataram and the dedication team from IKIP Mataram.

Learning media is a useful tool and intermediary for facilitating the teaching and learning process to streamline communication between teachers and students. This community service activity is divided into three main activities, namely the delivery of concepts or theories of multimedia, types of multimedia, the use of multimedia, and making presentations using practical and interactive PowerPoints tools; second, training on how to use PowerPoint effectively; and third, evaluation on the ability of training participants in making multimedia-based teaching materials.

The community service activity is aimed at providing a great command of Duolingo application for English teacher and MA Miftahul Ulum Pagendingan students where the application can be utilized as an interesting English teaching and learning tool. The method employed in this activity is training and mentoring regarding the utilization of Duolingo application through Smartphone. The activity of the service is desperately provide pedagogical commands for all participants how to teach or learn English in an interesting way that is by using Duolingo application. The participants consider that educational Duolingo application is extremely beneficial when to be utilized in English teaching and learning process in classroom.

The laboratory has an important role in the teaching and learning process. The laboratory with all its materials and equipments is a place that has the potential to cause danger for humans and the environment. Laboratory safety and security management are the responsibility of both the laboratory assistant and laboratory user. Based on the initial survey, the school already has a science laboratory but the tools and materials are poorly organized and poorly administered. The method used in this community service were socialization about the organization and administration of laboratory, socialization about safety and security laboratories related to the management of laboratory equipments and materials, demonstration and evaluation. In general, this community service activity ran successfully as planned. Participants in the activity were very enthusiastic and actively participated during the activity. Based on evaluation results, it was known that students' knowledge about laboratory safety and security has increased after participating in this community service.

In every teaching and learning process includes English teaching, there is a phase called ice breaking. The activity that generally only lasts a few minutes is a paramount aspect. Every English teacher or even the candidate has to be skillful in preparing effective ice breaking. Although ice breaking is viewed as a crucial stage in a teaching process, many students miss this phase when they have to do teaching practice. Therefore, the community service team regarding a workshop about icebreaking is still needed by the students as the teacher candidates. This workshop was conducted online via Google Meet in two days, and the participants were the students of the English Language Teaching Department of Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Purwokerto. In the workshop, the participants learned the theories related to ice breaking and the examples of ice breaking. They also did some practice on creating ice breaking. Overall, the two-day workshop ran well. The questioner's result also tends to be positive and based on the tasks submitted, the participant's ability to create ice breakers is good enough

ABSTRACT The purpose of this community service is to improve the ability of teachers to utilize information technology for online learning. The current COVID-19 pandemic has a major impact on education in Indonesia. Under these conditions, there will be a shift in the learning process from what is done in school to learning from home. One of the innovations made by the world of education during this pandemic is online learning. With this program and in the current pandemic conditions, of course SMA Negeri 5 Cimahi inevitably has to do online learning. However, online learning in secondary schools, not all students and teachers use the e-learning system synchronously in the teaching and learning process. The methods used in this service activity are in the form of training, discussions, and simulations conducted through webinars using the Zoom Meeting application. During the training, in addition to provide materials, pre-test and post-test were also given to participants. The training material was a google meet application for online learning. The result of this service activity was an increase in the ability of teachers to utilize information technology in online learning, namely synchronous e-learning using the Google Meet application. Pandemi COVID-19 saat ini berdampak besar pada pendidikan di Indonesia. Dengan kondisi tersebut maka akan terjadi pergeseran proses pembelajaran dari apa yang dilakukan di sekolah menjadi belajar dari rumah. Salah satu inovasi yang dilakukan oleh dunia pendidikan selama pandemi ini adalah pembelajaran online. Dengan adanya program ini dan dalam kondisi pandemi saat ini tentunya SMA Negeri 5 Cimahi mau tidak mau harus melakukan pembelajaran secara online. Namun, pembelajaran online di sekolah menengah, tidak semua siswa dan guru menggunakan sistem e-learning secara sinkron dalam proses belajar mengajar. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan, diskusi, dan simulasi yang dilakukan melalui webinar dengan menggunakan aplikasi Zoom Meeting. Selama pelatihan, selain pemberian materi, juga diberikan pre-test dan post-test kepada peserta. Materi pelatihannya berupa aplikasi google meet untuk pembelajaran online. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam memanfaatkan teknologi informasi dalam pembelajaran online yaitu e-learning sinkron dengan menggunakan aplikasi Google Meet. Distance learning causes teachers to think creatively so that the teaching and learning process continues as it should. In addition, various platforms and media for online learning are still not widely known by teachers. The Whatsapp application is an application that is already widely used. In this application, it is possible to form groups that can gather many people to be able to chat with each other and exchange information that allows the delivery of messages in groups besides delivering messages individually. The purpose of this service is so that teachers can make maximum use of the Whatsapp media as a distance learning facility. The method in this service of AbdiMas team took the initiative to conduct a one day coaching clinic using the Whatsapp application as a means of evaluating student learning to SIT Mush'ab bin Umair teachers. The conclusion of this dedication activity is that this community service activity is felt to be very beneficial for the SIT Mush'ab bin Umair teachers. In part, the limitations of online learning facilities and infrastructure can be overcome by using Whatsapp. The use of Whatsapp as an online exam means is considered relatively cheap with a wide reach, easy to use, especially for most of the students of SIT Mush'ab bin Umair who are still in grades 1 and 2.

There are several learning models that are applied in learning Biology in secondary schools. The teaching and learning process in several schools is still dominated by the lecture method. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of Madrasah Teachers in West Lombok Regency in applying experimental methods for learning biology on the subject of photosynthesis. The methods used in community service activities are: lectures and discussions,  practice photosynthesis experiments, and independent assignments in the form of making learning media. This community service activity was attended by 20 participants consisting of Madrasah teachers from West Lombok Regency. This activity received a positive response from the target participants. This activity has succeeded in increasing participants' knowledge and skills regarding the subject of photosynthesis and experimental methods for learning photosynthesis.

This is a community service activity which was about English teaching and learning for young learners and its application in classes. The teachers of young learners needs to have knowledge about songs, games and media to teach English which is appropriate with learners’ and era’s need. Furthermore, this workshop is important to facilitate the teachers in giving the fun English materials. In this activitiy the teacher were trained to make the fun applicated media and the newest English nursery songs and games to be applied in their classes. It is hoped that this activity can facilitate the teachers in Kabupaten Pasuruan about the importantce of English learning for Young Learners, also teachers are hoped to be able to apply the fun and effective teaching learning process which is appropriate to the age and ability of the young learners and also appropriate with this era.Keywords: English teaching, teachers, workshop

In this community service with the title "PKM Increased interest in learning English based on picture books as well as increasing the softskill of adolescent around Mosque of Nurul Ilham in the teaching and learning process in partners (TK), Fajar TK-IT manuruki, Simbang district, of Maros and English language training and welding training for increasing teenage softskill in Nurul Ilham Mosque in Simbang sub-district, Maros. The specific purpose of this service is to develop, increase interest in learning and improve the quality of English and welding (soft skills). Some of the methods used in community service (PPM) are the question and answer method and discussion to find out the general knowledge of students on picture books and supporting technology, the lecture method is used when presenting materials in the form of theoretical knowledge and understanding of the device software and hardware that are used along with maintenance that can be done. The demonstration method is used to provide and demonstrate the steps in making a game application. This method of simulation method is used to show the results of a game application and the success of the functions or features of the application that have been implemented. The first target to be achieved in community service (PPM) is 18 kindergarten students, educators are able to create fun and interesting teaching and learning activities based on the ability to organize the concept of stories (stories, stories and material) and methods into game forms. which is gradual or not by manipulating the sounds, images, object colors and text that exist in the autoplay application with considerations that are in accordance with the growth and physical development of early childhood. 18 educators are able to apply the method of playing and learning, the wajud is to create applications and implement games based on technology specifications and operating system frameworks. Game has object images, sound objects, labels and objects, can be moved and have stages or endings. The design of the game from the writing color, the color image of the object, background, sound or animation was designed. The second target was 26 members of the adolescent mosque nurul ilham with English softskill training and welding training that were expected to improve language skills and weld skills so they could be independent by opening bengkellas business. or working in a welding workshop and being able to compete in the era of the global market with the ability that English has.Keywords: Interest in Learning, Picture Books and Soft Skill
