Romanian children's literature, particularly translations for children, has rather low visibility in international children's literature scholarship, and translations of Beatrix Potter have not been extensively researched, either. This article contributes to filling these gaps by exploring the challenges involved in the recent publication of the first licensed Romanian edition of Beatrix Potter and the strategies employed to solve them. It identifies extra-textual challenges, related to the possibility of publishing Potter, the licensing process, the selection of particular tales and book formats for publication, and marketing strategies; and textual challenges, arising from Potter's writing style, the interdependence between visual and verbal aspects in her tales, their cultural specificity and read-aloud qualities. It also discusses the roles of the British and Romanian publishers in the publishing process and relates the translation strategies visible in the texts to the translator's apparently divided responsibility towards Potter and the Romanian audience, her conceptions of children and children's literature, and the Romanian literary tradition.

Introduction. There has been limited discussion on Open Monograph Press (OMP) although its  potential is recognized to support academic publications in Indonesia. This is due to the lack of access to information and dissemination of OMP by academic publishers that have implemented OMP in their publication process. Data Collection Method. This paper used a qualitative approach by starting the elaboration publication process in Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia (LIPI) Press. This paper examined how OMP-based online publishing system is able to accommodate book publishing process in LIPI Press. Primary data in this study was collected through records of the user interface of the online page of LIPI Press which uses OMP. Data Analysis. The data was analyzed by using  a descriptive-analytic approach. Results and Discussions. OMP is useful not only to accommodate all roles and processes of scientific publication but also to accommodate the publisher's need for a catalog website. OMP metadata can be indexed by Google Scholar and can be a helpful tool for product distribution. Conclusion. OMP is suggested to become a standard in publication process.

An art book is a type of editions that condenses mould-breaking, innovational, uncommon approaches of both uthor and publisher on the idea of creation of a specific book content. In practice it’s common (by mistake or on purpose) o use art book definition to classify each traditional book that is unique by all means. As a result, this confuses all participants of the publishing process. The aim of the research is to study whether all editions that are defined as art books correspond to this classification, and to consider all challenges that the editors are facing to. Using the methods of observation and analysis we have found out that the dozens of Ukrainian and foreign editions can or cannot be classified as art books. Using the systems analysis method this data became a background for revealing the consistent pattern in defining art books and editions that relate logically similar to them. The research results confirm a problem of non-conformances between the content of editions and their classification. The illustrated artistic or fiction editions are often classified to the category of art book. Their main essential and typological properties don’t allow us to designate them as art books. The scope of this problem testifies the unconscious usage of these categories, neglect of basic art book properties or blind following to current trends for manipulative purpose that influences the culture of art books publishing and readers’ expectations.

The Impact

The article describes the main typological characteristics of the specialized newspaper of the literary-publishing direction «Knyzhkova Teka». It was issued in Ukraine during 1994―1997s. The thematic and heading corpus of the newspaper, genre specifics, artistic and technical design, have been analyzed. In the context of research of the trade newspaper of book thematic the defining typological criteria were the audience orientation, as well as others: a nature of the impact (semantic characteristics ― the subject of presentation, or the scope of reflective reality, the nature of the presentation); authorship; the size of the readership (circulation), and so on. An attention is also focused upon a study of the problems of the literary and publishing process of that time, specifically its reflection on the pages of the analyzed media. A particular attention is paid to the review, specifically processing the issues of the newspaper «Knyzhkova Teka». The main typological characteristics are described: authorship, artistic and technical design, as well as thematic-heading content. The content analysis of information-analytical publications of the various types and genres is carried out. The newspaper is considered as an attempt of emerging trade medium in book journalism. It can serve as one of the examples of discursive practice of that time ― cultural journalism, book journalism. Such methods of research have been employed here: system, terminological analysis, contextual, communication, content analysis method, comparative, as well as a historical one.
