Layer by layer development two features of pulsed laser deposition PLD, with a high kinetic energy and sharp instantaneous deposition rating. Layered films of polymer/metal/ceramic nanocomposites consisting of polystyrene PS(as substrate) , tin Sn and cadmium oxide CdO were deposited by PLD. Structure for layered samples were measured  by XRD X ray diffraction, there were appearance of peaks  which reflected  to formation of new compounds result of  reaction between layers. Particles size  was calculated using two methods and it give nanoscale. Microstrain was also calculated  and exhibited  high value (0.01) for sample p/m.

ABSTRACTThe CaFeOX(CFO) and LaFeO3(LFO) thin films as well as superlattices were fabricated on SrTiO3(100) substrates by pulsed laser deposition (PLD) method. The tetragonal LFO film grew with layer-by-layer growth mode until approximately 40 layers. In the case of CFO, initial three layers showed layer-by-layer growth, and afterward the growth mode was transferred to two layers-by-two layers (TLTL) growth mode. The RHEED oscillation was observed until the end of the growth, approximately 50nm. Orthorhombic twin CaFeO2.5 (CFO2.5) structure was obtained. However, it is expected that the initial three CFO layers are CaFeO3 (CFO3) with the valence of Fe4+. The CFO and LFO superlattice showed a step-terraces surface, and the superlattice satellite peaks in a 2θ-θ and reciprocal space mapping (RSM) x-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, indicating that the clear interfaces were fabricated.

In this study, the effect of grafting with magnesium (Mg) ratios (0.1, 0.3, 0.5) on the structural and optical properties of cadmium oxide films (CdO) was studied, as these films were prepared on glass bases using the method of pulse laser deposition (PLD). The crystallization nature of the prepared membranes was examined by X-ray diffraction technique (XRD), which showed that the synthesis of the prepared membranes is polycrystalline, and (AFM) images also showed that the increased deformation with magnesium led to an increase in the grain size ratio and a decrease in surface roughness, as well as the absorption coefficient was calculated. And the optical energy gap for the prepared membranes, where it was found that the absorption coefficient increases with the increase in the proportion of vaccination and that the energy gap decreases with increasing rates of vaccination.

ABSTRACTA PbTiO3(001) film grown on MgO(001) by pulsed laser deposition is examined as an example to demonstrate the applications of the domain stability map for epitaxial perovskite films which shows regions of stable domains and fractions of domains in a polydomain structure. X-ray diffraction studies indicate that the film has a …c/a/c/a… domain structure in a temperature range of °C to 400°C with the fraction of c-domains decreasing with increasing temperature. These experimental results are in excellent agreement with theoretical predictions based on the stability map.

Orthorhombic HoMnO3 films were prepared epitaxially on Nb-doped SrTiO3 single crystal substrates by using pulsed laser deposition technique. The films showed perfectly a-axis crystallographic orientations. X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy were used to characterize the films. The complex dielectric properties were measured as functions of frequency (40 Hz~1 MHz) and temperature (80 K~300 K) with a signal amplitude of 50 mv. The respective dielectric relaxation peaks shifted to higher frequency as the measuring temperature increased, with the same development of real part of the complex permittivity. The cole-cole diagram was obtained according to the Debye model, and the effects of relaxation process were discussed.

ABSTRACTThick films (0.6 and 2.0 μm) of the colossal magnetoresistance (CMR) material, La0.7Ca0.3MnO3 (LCMO), have been grown by pulsed laser deposition (PLD). The films were grown from single-phase LCMO targets in 100 mTorr 02 pressures and the material deposited on (100) LaAlO3 substrates at deposition temperatures of 800°C. The deposited films were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), magnetic field-dependent resistivity, and Rutherford backscattering spectroscopy (RBS). The LCMO films were shown by XRD to adopt an orthorhombic structure. Brief post-deposition annealing led to ~50,000% and ~12,000% MR effect in the 0.6 μm and 2.0 μm films, respectively.

AbstractAn electrode plays an important role in realising a ferroelectric thin film as a potential memory device. We have investigated LaNiO3 (LNO) as a potential electrode material and evaluated the ferroelectric properties of oxide materials like strontium bismuth tantalate (SBT) and barium titanate(BT). We have successfully deposited epitaxial films of LNO on Pt coated Si(100) and LaAlO3 (LAO) substrates using the pulsed excimer laser deposition technique. We are able to grow high quality SBT and BT films on top of this LNO layer. The X-ray diffraction revealed the epitaxy of the LNO, SBT and BT films. The ferroelectric properties of SBTand BT were investigated using the RT66A ferroelectric tester.

Reactions of pentamethylantimony (CH3)5Sb with carboxylic acids in the molar ratio 1:2 afford one equivalent of methane and essentially quantitative yields of crystalline tetramothylstibonium hydrogendicarboxylates. Six new compounds of this series have been synthesized using benzoic, o-phthalic, salicylic, 4-ethoxy-salicylic, oxalic, and malic acid, and characterized by analytical and spectroscopic data. An ionic structure with strong hydrogen bonds in the anionic components is proposed. The crystal structures of the hydrogen-dibenzoato (1), hydrogen-ortho-plithalato (2) and 4-ethoxy-hydrogen-salicylate (3) were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The compounds can be described as having ionic lattices with some donor-acceptor interactions between the stibonium centers and the carboxylate oxygen atoms. The anions are characterized by strong hydrogen bonds O...H...O. Thus, the (CH3)4Sb-tetrahedron in 1 is distorted by two benzoate oxygon atoms (at 304(2) and 340(2) pin). The cation in 2 is largely undistorted and the anion has a hydrogenphthalate hydrogen bond of d(O...H...O) = 232 pm. The cation-anion contact in 3 is as short as d(Sb-O) = 289 pm rendering the Sb atom pentacoordinate.

ABSTRACTThe cross-plane thermal conductivities of InGaZnO (IGZO) thin films in different morphologies were measured on three occasions within 19 months, using the 3ω method at room temperature 300 K. Amorphous (a-), semi-crystalline (semi-c-) and crystalline (c-) IGZO films were grown by pulsed laser deposition (PLD), followed by X-ray diffraction (XRD) for evaluation of film quality and crystallinity. Semi-c-IGZO shows the highest thermal conductivity, even higher than the most ordered crystal-like phase. After being stored in dry low-oxygen environment for months, a drastic decrease of semi-c-IGZO thermal conductivity was observed, while the thermal conductivity slightly reduced in c-IGZO and remained unchanged in a-IGZO. This change in thermal conductivity with storage time can be attributed to film structural relaxation and vacancy diffusion to grain boundaries.
