How to enhance interoperability between stakeholders and improve efficiency of supply chain management is the key issue that needs to be addressed in automobile industry. Existing interoperability solutions are suitable only for large enterprises, however, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) lack cheap, easy to integrate and easy to customize solutions. This paper proposes a methodology that provides a guide on how to establish interoperability between enterprises through a federated approach. An interoperability service platform is designed and delivered in the form of Software as a Service (SaaS). This paper introduces the specifications of the service platform and proposes an interactive framework which is used to establish interoperability between the service platform and other on-premise applications.

The research object of this paper is the model of correlation between automobile manufacturers and auto parts manufacturers in major automobile manufacturing countries of the world. After first analyzing the characteristics, advantages and disadvantages of typical “assembly-components” relationship models in US (Ford model), Germany (Volkswagen model), Japan (Toyota model) and China (Geely model), this paper explores the degree of correlation between companies involved in these typical models, and in the end draws conclusions and points out the deficiencies of the research.

In an automobile industry, to operate effectively the supply chain management, it is very important to perform the purchasing function effectively. It is the responsibility of the purchasing department in a company to choose the correct suppliers to purchase the required products. Thus, from purchase manager’s point of view, supplier evaluation technique is essential to choose the best supplier among the available suppliers. The literature addresses quality, delivery, technology, value and service are the five most common criteria used for supplier quality evaluation. In this article, approach of evaluation and selection of supplier has been presented as per the standards. Apart from these, the most important criteria to assess the quality of suppliers is based on a review of the literature and observation in practice. This in turn would help these organizations to review regularly and implement effective quality systems by following the set of standards. Also, nowadays most of the automobile companies have developed in-house pattern of procedures and software for the process of effective supplier selection. In the analysis, part per million equivalent technique is used to help the purchasing organization take a prompt and correct decision related to supplier selection process and evaluation in critical conditions

With the increasing awareness of global environmental protection, green production has become a significant part for enterprises to remain in a competitive position. For a manufacturing company, selecting the most suitable green supplier plays an important role in enhancing its green production performance. In this paper, we develop a new green supplier evaluation and selection model through the combination of heterogeneous criteria information and an extended multi-attributive border approximation area comparison (MABAC) method. Considering the complexity of decision context, heterogeneous information, including real numbers, interval numbers, trapezoidal fuzzy numbers, and linguistic hesitant fuzzy sets, is utilized to evaluate alternative suppliers with respect to the selected criteria. A maximizing consensus approach is constructed to determine the weight of each decision-maker based on incomplete weighting information. Then, the classical MABAC method is modified for ranking candidate green suppliers under the heterogeneous information environment. Finally, the developed green supplier selection model is applied in a case study from the automobile industry to illustrate its practicability and efficiency.
