Community service activities are one of the activities most recently announced by all communities, government and private institutions as well as higher education centers. This activity has a positive impact on all societies, individuals and students involved in their success. Among the significant impacts of the students involved in this activity is to enhance the generic skills development of the team in terms of teamwork and problem solving skills in any field. In this study, the data were collected using a questionnaire distributed to 217 Electrical Engineering students from two to four semester at Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin Polytechnic (PSMZA) to obtain information about the impact of teamwork and problem solving skills. The raw data obtained was processed using the SPSS version 23 software and used the Likert scale 4 for each question chosen. Data analysis showed that the mean value of the impact of community service activities on teamwork skills was 3.26 and problem solving skills (3.68) where it was stand in high level for two to four semester electrical engineering students. The results of the t-test experiments found that there was no significant difference between male and female students on the impact of community activities on the components of teamwork skills where p> 0.05 and there is little difference between male and female students for problem solving skills where p <0.05. It is thus envisaged that this community service activity is crucial to be applied to all polytechnic students as a condition of awarding diploma and in line with the requirement of the National Education Philosophy to produce individuals who are intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced.

This study investigated the role of problem-solving skills as a mediator variable in the relationships between habits of mind and the psychological hardiness among university students, and to identify the difference between male and female students in each of the habits of mind, psychological hardiness, and problem-solving skills. The sample comprised of 285 male and female, third-year Faculty of Education, University students. The data collection utilized the habits of mind scale, the problem-solving scale, and the psychological hardiness scale (Mekhemer, 1996). SPSS v.25 and AMOS v.24 were used to process data. The findings revealed that problem-solving skills partially mediates the relationship between habits of mind and psychological hardiness, and the results also demonstrated that there are no statistically significant differences between male and female students in habits of mind, problem-solving skills, and psychological hardiness. Future research suggestions include planning stakeholders at the university stage should take into consideration the necessity to integrate habits of mind and problem-solving skills in curricula, and providing training for faculty members to enhance university students' psychological hardiness.

The Rocky Mountain Scholars Program (RMSP) was developed, in part, to improve student success and persistence in Engineering disciplines at Colorado State Universi-ty through a portfolio of engagement activities focused around undergraduate research experiences. Female RMSP participants exhibited substantially higher retention rates and grade point averages relative to other female engineering students at CSU. To better understand the impact of the RMSP, and its effectiveness among female engi-neering students, researchers focused on whether, and how, experiences and percep-tions differ between male and female students in engineering programs. That is, how do male and female students differ, if at all, in their subjective perception of life as an engineering major at CSU? A survey was developed measuring resilience, self-efficacy, motivation, social support, academic support, and perceived sexism. Data was obtained from 144 first-year engineering students at CSU. Results indicated that social support from extracurricular activities is particularly important among female students. This points to an increasing need for programs like the RMSP to create social networks among students and faculty, link students to the broader impacts of their work, and ultimately improve the undergraduate experience of under-represented groups in STEM programs.

<p>This study aimed to identify the Emotional intelligence differences between the normal, the<br />blind and the deaf in a Jordanian sample, in addition to the impact of the gender and type of<br />disability on the level of the emotional intelligence. The sample of the study consisted of 150<br />male and female students who are normal, deaf and blind in the adolescence. The researcher<br />collected data using Bar-On Emotional intelligence scale which is developed by Alia<br />Al-Oweidi and it is consisted of 60items distributed into six domains. Results showed the<br />highest mean of emotional intelligence level was for the normal students, the deaf and the<br />blind respectively. The results also showed that there were statistical significant differences<br />attributed to the type of the disability variable but there were no statistical significant<br />differences attributed to the gender variable.</p>

In our new education curriculum, it has been seen that it is no longer sufficient for students to learn only the achievements, unlike these gains, solution strategies that the student visualizes in his mind and designed by himself are also needed. Mathematical thinking, which is the process of obtaining new information completely different from the student's old knowledge and new knowledge, using it in the solution of the problem, and transforming that knowledge into new knowledge, has become extremely important. MEB asks students for deep mathematical thinking and problem solving skills in all questions they ask in the skill-based tests and student selection exam LGS. In this study, mathematical thinking and problem solving skills of middle school 7th grade students while solving problems will be examined. The research was applied to 241 students in 7 different secondary schools in the province of Bingöl in the Eastern Anatolia Region in the 2020-2021 academic year. In the study, it was investigated by quantitative and qualitative methods whether the mathematical thinking and problem solving skills of the students on rational numbers are related to gender, whether they had pre-school education and daily reading time. In the research, the SPSS 25 package program was used in the analysis of quantitative data, and in the analysis of qualitative data by examining the process steps in the answers from the students. As a result of the research, a statistically significant difference was found between male and female students, and this difference is in favor of female students. According to the findings obtained from the research, no statistically significant difference was found between the students who had and did not have pre-school education. Secondary school 7th grade students’ mathematical thinking and problem solving skills are related to their daily reading time. According to the results, students who read for an hour a day are more successful than students who read for fifteen minutes a day.

<p>The aim of the present research was study of the impact of music therapy on problem-solving skills of 4 to 6 years old children in Tehran. This research was a quasi-experimental study with pretest-posttest control group. The statistical population was all 4 to 6 years old children in region 2 of Tehran. Using the random sampling method, the study sample was chosen in two experiment (15 individuals) and control (15 individuals) groups.   The experiment group received 12 sessions of music therapy and the control group was waiting for treatment meanwhile. To evaluate the problem-solving skill in children, the three subscales of Wechsler’s Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence (WPPSI) were used, including: mazes, cubes and arithmetic.  Analysis of data obtained from the questionnaires was conducted in two parts of descriptive and inferential. The data analysis indicated the significant increase of problem-solving average score of the experiment group compared to the control group.</p>

The impact of grouping, learning handicap, locus of control, and self esteem on students' performance on a math problem-solving program was assessed in two studies. Outcome measures included: 1) the level of difficulty at which students selected to work, 2) use of a program help command, and 3) response accuracy with and without help. Despite indication from the non-computer instructional literature that grouping would facilitate problem-solving skills for some students, neither problem selections nor performance accuracy varied as a function of group configuration. Personal characteristics influenced problem selections, help seeking, and accuracy in anticipated directions but not consistently. More consistent patterns were noted as a function of initial student competency in math.

Schizophrenia is one of the most common medical diagnoses of mental disorders and is a severe mental disorder that is influenced by biological, psychological and environmental factors. Schizophrenics have cognitive and behavioral disorders, so they have difficulty in determining appropriate coping. Koping is meant a process in order to change the cognitive domain and or behavior constantly to regulate and control external and internal demands and pressures. The purpose of this study was to determine coping strategies in schizophrenia the maintenance stage patients in the inpatient ward of the Naimata Kupang mental hospital. This type of research is descriptive research with a quantitative approach. The population in this study were 70 patients with Schizophrenia. The sample in this study were 30 patients with schisophrenia. The results obtained are that there is no impact from physical health and education on the application of coping strategies to Schizophrenia patients. The impact of positive beliefs (Emotion Focused Coping), problem solving skills (Problem Focused Coping), social and occupational support or socioeconomic status on the application of coping strategies to schizophrenia patients. The type of Emotion Focused Coping used is the highest type of Distancing and the Escape-Avodiance type while for the type of use of Problem Focused Coping there are Confrontative-Coping, Planfull Problem Solving and Seeking Social Support. Hospitals and families are expected to always provide support to patients both in the form of verbal and non verbal, material, and motivational support to be able to support the healing process of schizophrenic patients.

Seeing the differences in the results of several previous studies on metacognitive abilities in problem solving, researchers are interested in examining students' metacognitive abilities in problem solving in terms of gender differences. This problem is important to study because it aims to determine the implementation of the metacognitive abilities of male and female students in problem solvingThe purpose of this study was to determine the metacognitive ability of male and female students in problem solving using TIMSS questions at SMP Al-Falah Pesanggrahan Jangkar for the 2020/2021 academic year. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The subjects of this study were one male student and one female student from class VII SMP AL-Falah Pesanggrahan who had the same mathematical ability. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews, mathematical ability tests and TIMSS questions. Data analysis in this study was analyzed on each data collection technique. The results of data analysis showed that there was no difference in metacognitive ability in problem solving between male and female students. The metacognitive abilities of male and female students have been used well in problem solving. Both of them can explain their thinking process in every stage of problem solving.   Keywords: Metacognition Ability, Problem solving, TIMSS questions, Mathematical Ability, Gender Difference.
