The Arun natural gas field is one of the world biggest gas fields by volume of reserves and this field was found in a coastal region within the North Sumatra Basin, Indonesia. This field has been producing gas and condensate since 1977. Based on Atmadibrata and Joenoes (1993) gas production in this field had increased at that time up to an average level of 3,300 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The total daily volume of 2.230 MMSCFD was transported to the LNG plant for liquefaction and trade, 145 MMSCFD was provided to the household showcase and domestic market, 55 MMSCFD was utilized for fuel and 870 MMSCFD was reinjected into the reservoir in order to maximize condensate recovery. This study intends to understand the relationship between the depositional environment of the Arun field reservoir to the production rate of the reservoir. The data in this study is mainly secondary data and consists of geological properties (core description and petrographic analysis), geophysical properties (well logging) and petrophysical properties (porosity and permeability).

The John Brookes gas field was discovered by the drilling of John Brookes–1 in October 1998 and appraisal drilling was completed in 2003. The field is located about 40 km northwest of Barrow Island on the North West Shelf, offshore West Australia. The John Brookes structure is a large (>90 km2) anticline with >100 m closure mapped at the base of the regional seal. Recoverable sales gas in the John Brookes reservoir is about 1 Tcf.Joint venture approval to fast track the development was gained in January 2004 with a target of first gas production in June 2005. The short development time frame required parallel workflows and use of a flexible/low cost development approach proven by Apache in the area. The John Brookes development is sized for off-take rates up to 240 TJ/d of sales gas with the development costing A$229 million. The initial development will consist of three production wells tied into an unmanned, minimal facility wellhead platform. The platform will be connected to the existing East Spar gas processing facilities on Varanus Island by an 18-inch multi-phase trunkline. Increasing the output of the existing East Spar facility and installation of a new gas sweetening facility are required. From Varanus Island, the gas will be exported to the mainland by existing sales gas pipelines. Condensate will be exported from Varanus Island by tanker.

The following research took place in the Jamprong area, Tuban Regency, East Java Province within a study area of 2 km2. Physiographically, the study area is situated in the anticlinorium of the Rembang Zone. This research aims to define the reservoir potential of outcrop samples from the Ngrayong Formation as an analogue for the subsurface. In addition, the depositional environment and the age of the rock in the research area was determined. The Ngrayong Formation is regarded as a potential reservoir in the North East Java Basin. The accumulated data consists of stratigraphy, petrographic analysisand paleontological analysis of rock samples, and geological mapping has been carried out to determine the distribution of rocks. Facies were determined based on outcrop observations and comprise predominantly arkose sandstone facies with fine – coarse grained, moderately sorted and with cross-bedding, herringbone, and lamination, and another facies namely massive carbonate grainstone. Based on these facies, the interpreted depositional environment is the transition of tidal flat to shallow marine carbonate platform with relative biostratigraphic age of Middle Miocene, Langhian to Serravallian (M6-M8 planktonic foraminiferal biozones). Rocks in the study area have porosity >20% or very good and permeability >130 or fair based on petrographic observations, and this supports the interpretation of the Ngrayong Formations as a potential reservoir of hydrocarbons.

The North East Java Basin has become one of the most promising basins in Indonesia. Over 150 million barrels of oil have been extracted from the Rembang Zone in the North East Java Basin. The Sukolilo outcrop, located in Sukolilo, Bancar, Tuban Regency, East Java, represents all the components of an exposed Middle Miocene petroleum system. The objective of this study is to present an excellent analogue for the depositional environment and petroleum system of the Middle Miocene formation of the Rembang Zone that can be expected in similar subsurface settings and as a tool for outcrop preservation with modelling using photogrammetry. Data consists of measured section, photogrammetry data, petrographic analysis, TOC content measurement and Rock-Eval Pyrolysis. Observed formation at this outcrop includes Ngrayong, Bulu, and Wonocolo Formation. The facies distributed in this outcrop consist of claystone-carbonaceous shale bedded, cross-bedded quartz sandstone, foraminiferal limestone and calcareous siltstone intercalated calcareous sandstone. Based on depositional environment analysis, the depositional environment changes from Lagoon – Tidal Flat – Shallow Marine – Shelf. The result of petrographic analysis shows that quartz sandstone porosity from the Ngrayong Formation can be identified as reservoir rock. Seal rock potential is shown by carbonate minerals diagenesis of the foraminiferal limestone sample. Source rock potential which is identified using TOC content and Rock-Eval Pyrolysis, reveals that the sample tends to be gas prone (kerogen type III) and has low thermal maturity (immature). Ductile deformation (conical anticline) and brittle deformation (normal fault) is predicted to be the migration path for this petroleum system.

This study aims to analyze the communication patterns of President Jokowi-Ma'ruf's campaign team in the 2019 elections in North Sumatra, the communication management of the campaign team, the response of the voters, and the results achieved by the campaign team. The data sources consisted of primary data, namely from the North Sumatra regional campaign team and secondary data from various books, documents, journals, articles, websites and others related to this research. The main informants were the campaign team which was determined purposively in accordance with the research objectives. Besides that, the community also distributed questionnaires to the voters for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin presidential candidate in several cities and districts, namely Medan, Tebing Tinggi, Simalungun, and Tapanuli Tengah as a form of representation from the regions in North Sumatra because of the diversity of ethnicities, cultures, and religion. The results of the study indicate that the communication pattern of President Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin's regional campaign team in North Sumatra is carried out in broad lines through two forms, namely direct communication with the community and indirect communication or by using mass media. The delivery of infrastructure development work programs to the campaign masses received a response from the voting public. Campaigns through the approach and involvement of religious leaders can also attract sympathy from the voters. The voters for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf presidential candidate in North Sumatra generally answer because of the figure of the presidential candidate. Meanwhile, the position of Kiyai Haji Ma'ruf Amin as a vice presidential candidate is a factor that can influence or increase the electability of Muslims in determining the victory of a presidential candidate.
