The effectiveness of delivering course contents for distance learning depends on the organization of the course material, interaction methods and selection of exercise/test questions. The selection of questions plays a role equally important as the course presentation material. The use of multimedia may help ease the learning experience and so does the interaction among the students. A systematic approach to structure the course knowledge is perhaps the most important thing to effective learning. We adopt a novel approach to distance learning in which students are made to learn the ontology of the course through a template based approach.

The article is devoted to the expediency of using distance learning of physics in the educational process. The article deals with features and types of distance learning. Such concepts as "e-Learning", "mobile learning", "virtual learning", with the help of practical "online" learning experience based on modern European educational platform Leon (Tyrol, Austria) are revealed. The article defines the structure and the interrelationships between the components of control in distance learning. The expediency of the use of distance learning is grounded on condition that there is an appropriate hardware and software in an educational establishment.

The growth of e-learning, particularly distance learning via e-learning, is widely recognised as a significant factor influencing higher education in the 21st century. The rapid and ongoing uptake of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for teaching and learning, along with the recognition that increased student engagement can lead to more effective learning, is changing the way in which teaching and learning occurs in universities. This chapter suggests that the distance learner is frequently overlooked in the current climate when it comes to consideration of student needs and that current applications of ICT for distance learning raises questions about the quality of their learning experience. The chapter discusses the role of the student voice in understanding and addressing students’ needs in relation to the quality of their learning experience and suggests that greater attention needs to be paid to the distinct voice of the distance education student. The chapter provides some methodologies for collecting the student’s voice and gives consideration to how addressing the distance learners’ voice to enhance their learning experience might be most effectively accomplished.

Distance learning via the internet has become the key to reaching adult learners globally. Adult learners have been shown to benefit from such qualities as: provisions for self-directed learning, flexibility, and frequent communication with the instructor in order to achieve success. Contract learning and contract grading are two innovations popularized during the “individualized instruction” movement of the 1970s which are being used to assist instructors of twenty-first century on-line learning courses in providing for self-direction, flexibility and frequent communication. The chapter which follows will provide an overview of contract learning and contract grading as it can be used with adult learners in distance learning courses (e.g., courses supported by WebCT, Blackboard). The chapter will examine adult learning theories which support contract learning/grading as well as provide information on designing learning contracts and grading contracts which are appropriate for adult learners.

In order to gain a better understanding of the ways in which an instructor could enhance an on-line learning experience, we surveyed 96 students enrolled in on-line Health Promotion and Wellness courses. Almost all respondents felt that sending e-mailed reminders and posting announcements on the course was very important or important for enhancing the on-line learning experience. There was a mixed response in the ratings for how important it was for an on-line instructor to host on-line office hours and the weakest ratings were for rating importance of having asynchronous time with an on-line instructor. Not surprisingly, most students used the library for research purposes less often or as often for their on-line courses than for their face-to-face courses. However, the majority of students used the Internet for resources more often or as often. Interestingly, half of the respondents felt that they interacted more with classmates in their on-line course. The amount of time spent preparing assignments in a face-to-face versus an on-line course was split.

This study aims to determine the success of implementing constructivism-based and contextual learning systems in Indonesian language learning, in particular, the five-grade first semester at SD Negeri 44 OKU with on-line learning techniques in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. This study uses qualitative research methods. The data collection techniques used were participant observation, structured interviews, and documentation. The results showed several recommendations for distance learning designs by viewing teaching as a process of interaction between learning actors. Interactions that are mediated by this technology need to be carefully designed and implemented based on the needs of students. Apart from what has been shared here, the spaces for innovation are still very wide open in the design and implementation of distance learning, with learning spaces to continuously improve teaching. The vast space for innovation and learning is what frees educators to continue to observe, ask, try, find, and reflect on what forms of distance learning are most appropriate to the context of their students.

Article is devoted to a search for an optimal format of blended distance learning. The questioning of distance learning students of Sukhoi State Technical University of Gomel was used as a main research method. One discipline from the academic learning program was studied using e-learning technology (on-line classes) whereas (while) others disciplines were studied using traditional classroom face-to-face learning technique. Thus, students using blended distance learning have opportunity to compare and estimate efficiency together with advantages of both educative techniques. On-line classes were held in the period between sessions using BigBlueButton program. It was found that student majority estimate blended distance learning as most efficiency learning technique; half of questioning students consider that the quality of face-to-face and on-line learning is equal. The main advantages and disadvantages of e-learning were analyzed. Highest student attendance of on-line classes between sessions in comparison with face-to-face classes during session time was found. Optimal amount of disciplines for on-line learning to organize blended distance learning were established. Best regime, time and intensity for on-line classes were determined. Results of these investigations may be useful to organize optimal format of blended distance learning as well as to choose subjects for on-line learning and to create comfortable schedule of distance classes.

The article considers the problems of teaching legal disciplines to students of economic specialties in the conditions of quarantine and on-line training. The purpose of the article is to identify opportunities and proposals for improving the quality of teaching legal disciplines in the format of distance learning. Empirical formalized and specially legal methods, as well as methods of analysis and synthesis, opposition, generalization of individual pedagogical experience and others were used in the study. МЕТОДИКА ВИКЛАДАННЯ У ВИЩІЙ ШКОЛ І 168 Випуск І (81), 2021 It is proved that with diverse use of educational methods and constant creative stimulation it is possible to provide the educational process in the on-line mode of proper quality. It is substantiated that the disciplines of legal orientation, which are provided by the curricula for students seeking economic specialties, have an interdisciplinary nature, which clearly affects the methodology of their teaching. For the proper teaching of legal disciplines to students of economic specialties in the conditions of distance learning, proposals have been developed for the selection of optimal forms of conducting lectures and seminars. Modern society and higher education, in particular, are under the influence of quarantine restrictions related to the spread of Covid’s infection. This creates the need for the formation of educational and methodological developments that will promote education in the context of online learning, and their scientific justification.
