This article takes the second screen – television-related use of smart phones and tablet computers – as a starting point to discuss how current culture is shaped by the ever more heterogeneous connections between multiple devices, texts and platforms. They form unstable assemblages that simultaneously highlight and undermine the specific affordances of their elements. Focusing first on technical and industrial and then on practical and domestic procedures of creating connections, the current media landscape will be described as >convergence as crisis<: While media indeed become increasingly more interconnected, the connections themselves and the shape of the assemblage in its entirety are ephemeral, unstable and vague. Convergence mainly exists and is generated through being in crisis.

This study explores the issues and barriers to developing a sustainable system for the collection of quality of life data in hospitals. A set of sustainability factors was identified and tested in a study that introduced tablet computers to collect questionnaires from cancer patients. These factors are considered a good starting point for practitioners and researchers to use in other IT contexts if they wish to develop sustainable information systems.

Mobile learning requires a methodology for creating mobile learning scenarios and producing learning objects to implement them. It also requires a technology to deliver the learning objects to users via mobile computing devices such as personal digital assistants, smart phones, and tablet computers. This article will describe both the pedagogic methodology and the technology using the European research project MOBIlearn as an example.

Indonesia is among the ranks of countries with the lowest literacy in the world. Precisely at rank 69 of 76 countries. If calculated the average Indonesian people only read one book per year. One of the reasons for the low literacy of Indonesia is the lack of understanding of Indonesian society with Indonesian vocabulary. Although Indonesian is an educational language which is also the national language and language of Indonesian unity, it can not be denied if Indonesian people do not fully master the Indonesian language. That's what causes the dictionary as a medium for discovering the meaning of words. On the other hand, until now Indonesia is not evenly able to facilitate the dictionary as a means of searching the meaning of words. Many Indonesian dictionaries only specialize for normal people only. Whereas the number of persons with disabilities in Indonesia reached 2.45% of the total population of Indonesia. Then the blind person is 29.63% of the total number of persons with disabilities. It can be concluded that people with visual impairment are the highest in persons with disabilities in Indonesia. Therefore the development of Indonesian dictionary for the blind is considered important in this era.Android is a Linux-based operating system that can be used for smart phones and tablet computers. The selection of Android as the Indonesian dictionary base for the visually impaired on the Android platforms is provided platfro open for developers to create applications. In addition to Android also features Talk Back and speech to text that was created specifically for the visually impaired. The feature works as an Android screen reader so that the blind people can enjoy the screen display with sound output. In line with these things Android is considered easier operation and maintenance because it is more practical than conventional dictionary.

Subject Crypto ming and jacking Significance Cryptocurrencies are produced through a process called 'mining'. 'Miners' compete to solve a mathematical problem to release a new block of cryptocoins. Mining cryptocurrency is lucrative. The leading such coin, bitcoin, is currently worth 9,000 dollars and each successful mining releases 12.5 bitcoins, currently worth over 100,000 dollars. Computing requirements are extremely energy-intensive, favouring cheap locations and encouraging ‘cryptojacking’: infecting people’s computer systems to mine in the background. Israeli cyber security company Check Point reported that by mid-February eight million cryptojacking attacks occurred weekly -- from zero through much of 2017. Impacts Illicit crypto mining will flourish as it is far less obtrusive than ransomware; mostly a barely noticeable amount of power is stolen. More regulation is likely to require more monitoring and identification -- this could curb the attraction of mining cryptocurrencies. Cryptocurrency malware will increasingly infect smart phones -- incidences have seen the energy-intensity explode phone batteries. 'Mining pools' will proliferate, in which multiple devices pool resources to solve calculations and then share the rewards.
