The aim of the study was to identify the attitudes of vocational education students at Al-Balqa Applied University towards enrollment in their academic specialization from their perception, relating them to variables such as gender, the student’s academic year, and academic rating. A descriptive approach was used with a questionnaire which comprised 33 items that measured the students' attitudes towards the vocational education specialization. The study comprised 221 male and female students to whom the questionnaire was distributed in the first semester of the academic year 2019-2020. The study found that the students' attitudes towards the vocational education specialization for the instrument as a whole were positive: 24 items obtained positive attitude scores and 9 items showed an average attitude. It was found that there were no statistically significant differences among vocational-education students’ attitudes towards their enrollment in their academic specialization in terms of the study variables: gender; the student’s academic year (first and second year, third and fourth year); or academic rating (acceptable, good, very good, and excellent). It was also found that there were no statistically significant differences among the vocational education students' attitudes towards their enrollment in their academic specialization. These differences are attributed to the study variables: gender, academic year, and academic rating. It is recommended that: the study plan should be developed to be more comprehensive, and incorporates a diversity of experiences, knowledge, and activities to achieve differentiation of the student's personality. This requires the university and the college to provide diverse and flexible activities to suit the characteristics of students in light of the principles of respecting, meeting and satisfying their inclinations and desires.

Translation undergraduates were, randomly, chosen from SU and UST to be the sample of the study during the first semester of the academic year 2018/2019. To collect the required data, the researchers designed a translation test and administered a questionnaire. The study results revealed that translation undergraduates encountered real challenges when translating euphemistic expressions. These challenges were mostly related to the cultural and pragmatic domains. The respondents believed that there were resolvable reasons behind euphemism translation difficulties such as the lack enough syllabus materials and training. During the 2020/21 academic year, the active and collaborative learning methodology was implemented in the development of a laboratory practice of the Eco-efficient Materials course of the second year of the University Master's Degree in Engineering, Processing and Characterization of Materials, in virtual modality. The use of this methodology aims to promote student participation and increase their level of responsibility in the laboratory practice, making use of the advantages of a virtual modality. Before carrying out the practice, students were given a script and then an explanatory session and resolution of doubts was held. The practices were carried out in a virtual and synchronous way. The students were responsible for setting the parameters and the teacher was in charge of reproducing them in the laboratory. The objective of this work was to observe the behavior of the students in decision-making, to appreciate if they acquired the necessary knowledge for the development of the practice and to solve the problems that may arise during it. Subsequently, the learning methodology between a virtual and a face-to-face modality was compared, and an active and collaborative learning methodology was developed that can be applied in either of the two scenarios.

During the 2019/2020 academic year, project-based learning has been introduced in the development of a laboratory practice of the Eco-efficient Materials subject, given in the second year of the University Master's Degree in Engineering, Processing and Characterization of Materials to obtain recycled paper. The practice was carried out during 3 sessions in groups of 3 students. Prior to the practice, the teacher made a guide on how to recycle paper and the students looked for information to help themself to determine whether if they would add some fillers or another additives in order to optimize the product obtained. Therefore, they were who decided on what the composition of the recycled paper would be. The objective of doing the practice in this way was to observe the students abilities for information search, decision making and the development of the final product and its characterization. An improvement was observed in the students' abilities to handle the laboratory characterization equipments, and more confidence in making decisions.

Industry revolution 4.0 era provides opportunities as well as threats for the students and alumni graduated from vocational education. Man roles are gradually taken by automatic machines. Consequently, unemployment is increasing. This certainly will contribute to the either local or national problems. Therefore, vocational education students have to intensify their learning achievements. This study discusses the learning achievements of the male and female students at the Shipbuiding Institute of Polytechnic Surabaya (PPNS) and Medan State Polytechnic (Polmed). The analysis of learning achievements in this study used the documentation data of the GPA in scale 4, taking the whole population either male (M) or female (F) in the academic year 2015/2016, 2016/2017, and 2017/2018. In the last three years, total PPNS’s graduates are 1959 (1418 male, 541 female) and Polmed’s are 5938 (2821 male, 3117 female). Based on the descriptive quantitative analysis, the average of learning achievements at PPNS shows that accumulated GPA of the female students’ is 3.39 > male students’ 3.28. While at Polmed, it is GPA of female students’ is 3.27 > male students’ 3.14. Total of students is still gender imbalance referring to the graduates data in year 2018 for PPNS’ Welding Study Program in which having only two female students with average GPA 3.41 and 53 students with average GPA 3.15, meanwhile at Polmed, the total students with largest gap in gender occured at the Mechanical Engineering Study Program with total of male students 240 (average GPA 3.10) and female students only 11 (average GPA 3.20). This result indicates that in these two vocational educational institutions, e.i. PPNS and Polmed, the learning achievement of female students is betterand more competitivable than the other

The current study aimed to investigate the most common translation problems that encountered the Saudi students in translating some of the literary items from Arabic into English. In addition, the study tried to investigate the most difficult terms that the students faced while translating them. Moreover, it aimed to explore the participants’ point of views behind such translation problems. To achieve the purpose of the study, a translation test, which involved 20 items and expressions, was prepared in advance. Furthermore, an interview was made to the participants to ask them about their point of views concerning the reasons behind encountering such translation problems. The sample of the study consisted of 15 male fourth year English-majored university students, who were chosen purposefully, at the University College of Taymaa in the first semester of the academic year 2017/2018 in Saudi Arabia. The design of the study was a qualitative as well as quantitative method. The data that were obtained from the participants’ answers in the translation test as well as the participants’ point of views in the interview were analyzed using the appropriate statistical analyses. The findings of the study showed that the students’ achievement in translating the items of the terms of address was the best compared with their results in the other two groups (lexical and cultural). Moreover, the analysis of the students’ interviews indicated that the lack of practice and lack of translation courses are a main reason in facing such these problems. Based on the findings, the researcher presented some recommendations and suggestions to develop students’ translation competence such as increasing the number of the translation courses that are presented to the students in their studying to have more practice in the process of translation. Moreover, more concentration should be given to the lexical, cultural, and terms of address problems in translation. Besides, students must be trained on how to use the bilingual dictionaries in the process of translation to get the intended meaning while rendering from Arabic into English and vice versa.
