The report presents a teaching methodology for primary school how to use Cuisenaire Rods to teach English. First Primary School „St. Cyril and St. Methodius” successfully works under the European program „Erasmus”. In 2017, I participated in the training course at the Executive Training Institute in Malta by the Erasmus program on the topic „Language learning, entertainment and games – a methodology for primary school.” This report introduces some ideas and techniques of teaching English with Cuisenaire Rods, after my education. They are small wooden cubes of different lengths and colors. They are used as a resource in the classroom to visually present different areas of the language. Cuisenaire Rods are an important tool for promoting handson learning. Provokes in children energy, vitality during the lesson. Creates a feeling of joy. Most importantly, it makes them feel confident in their knowledge and ability to use the language. This practical teaching method also provoke the teacher’s imagination to put children close to reality situations, turning the lesson into a game.

The article is devoted to the comparative analysis of the basic methods of teaching English in chronological order of their development. The following teaching methods are studied: grammar translation method, direct method, audio-linguistic method, communicative teaching method. The specific features of each method, their positive and negative characteristics are revealed. The peculiarities of their application in the system of training in public administration are considered. It is determined that training in the field of public administration corresponds to the activities of those who study, namely, public administration, both in terms of subject matter and linguistic content and language learning activities. In general, teaching / learning a foreign language is not essential, so teachers and students / students should only focus on certain aspects of a foreign language. Thus, general language learning should be combined with professional training. In groups with a sufficient level of language proficiency, it is immediately possible to begin a special vocational-oriented training. And, conversely, in groups with low and average English proficiency it is necessary to focus first of all on general language training, and then on professionally oriented. Grammatical material should always be developed and used in oral language. It is noted that an important role in the study of foreign languages is given to the assimilation of professional vocabulary. Assimilation of lexical units is carried out in order to develop the skills of oral communication and is aimed at the implementation of communication skills and an adequate response in typical situations of professional communication, both verbal (for compilation of messages on professional subjects) and written (ability to write resume, any documents, etc.). After all, the possession of the working or official languages of the community provides in practice wide opportunities for obtaining international experience in public administration, undergo internships, work in international projects, etc. In the context of broad international relations with other countries, it is important to communicate with foreign specialists, to develop professional-business and personal contacts with foreign partners, colleagues, to read different editions in the original language.

In our country, English teaching has always played an important role in primary school, middle school and even higher education. Especially in primary school, it is essential to cultivate students’ basic English literacy so as to lay a solid foundation for students’ English learning in the future. However, there are many problems in the process of English teaching in primary schools. A dramatic shift in the traditional notion of primary English teaching, especially the English teaching method, is unavoidable. Additionally, it is sensible to put game into practice. Based on the analysis of current problems existing in primary English teaching as well as its negative effects from the outset, this paper demonstrated the advantages and disadvantages of games in English teaching. It also studied the effective use of games in primary English classes. By adopting the ways of literature research, exploratory research and cases study, this paper provided more options and inspirations for English learners. This article explores the classic teaching approach of Community Language Learning (CLL). It will introduce CLL, describe how and when it was developed, what approaches it takes to teaching English, what procedures and techniques are used in a typical CLL lesson, and what materials are needed. This article then goes onto describe how through experimenting with CLL, I believe there are elements of CLL that can help with some common issues in varying Japanese teaching contexts such as tackling learners’ over reliance on electronic devices, and providing learners with authentic listening. Also, this article will also go over some of the weaknesses of CLL. For instance, our institutional requirements, and the fact that this way of teaching goes against how many Japanese learners have been taught English in the past (e.g. in carefully controlled teacher led classrooms).

As a national event, education is important issue, which has an influence on thousands of generations. How to teach students to learn knowledge and apply it at the same time has turns out to be a challenging work for numbers of teachers. To solve this problem, some inspiration could come from a method founded in 1980s, which is also called Task Based Language Teaching. As its key characteristics, TBLT makes students learn the knowledge through using the knowledge. In particular, taking execution and communicating interactively are explored as the method to achieve the language learning. This paper investigates the application of the TBLT in the Fourth Primary School in Awati County of Xinjiang. Problems existing in the implementation process are revealed and the underlying causes are analyzed. The results of this study can provide reference for other teachers to use task-based teaching method in the future.
