A one-day antismoking programme was conducted for 289 students in a male secondary school in Abha, Saudi Arabia. The one-group pretest/post-test design to evaluate the programme was based on an Arabic version of the WHO standard questionnaire for young people. The results showed that the prevalence rate of regular smoking was 14.5%. The students showed marked variability in correct responses to various factual items. The programme had a significant impact on nonsmokers [P < 0.01] and prespecialty students [P < 0.01]. With the exception of smokers, the students showed an overall positive attitude towards public action, but the impact of the one-day programme was less than satisfactory

The purpose of this research was to study the impact of collaborative learning strategies on social maturity and its various dimensions viz. personal adequacy, interpersonal adequacy, and social adequacy, of secondary school students. The study was quasiexperimental and used matched pairs pre-test post-test research design. A Higher Secondary School in Educational Zone Hiranagar of District Kathua was chosen for the intervention. The study was conducted on sixty-six students of two sections of class 9th. Two sections were randomly assigned to collaborative and traditional learning conditions. Four methods of collaborative learning viz. Think-Pair-Share, Numbered Heads Together, Jigsaw, and Fish-Bowl were used for a period of over five weeks. The results were analyzed using mean, standard deviation and a critical ratio (CR). The results of the study showed that this approach was successful in increasing personal adequacy, interpersonal adequacy, social adequacy and overall social maturity of secondary school students.

Science education in Rwandan schools still faces a number of challenges including the lack or shortage of equipment available for science experiments. This paper describes research conducted to assess the impact of using improvised versus conventional laboratory equipment in experiments. Eighty-five lower secondary school students were assessed using a semi-experimental post-test design on thermal expansion of bodies. Data analysis using a t-test produced a t-Stat of 2.74 over a t-Critical of 1.98 indicating a statistical significance between the two experimental groups in favour of the group using improvised equipment. As a result, it is recommended that improvised equipment be used in those instances in which there is a lack or shortage of conventional equipment since students’ achievement was similar regardless of the type of equipment used.

The objective of the current research is to identify the effect of using the student's guide bag on the attitudes and professional tendencies of high school students who have learning difficulties in Riyadh city. The researcher used two tools: the student's guide bag and the vocational awareness scale. After the data were collected and statistically analyzed by calculating the arithmetic mean to identify the differences between the pre-test and post-test of the occupational awareness scale, and the ETA box (2). The study found that there are statistically significant differences At a level of significance less than (0.05) among the average responses of secondary school students who have learning difficulties in the tribal and post-application of the vocational awareness scale. There is a high impact on the effectiveness of the student's student bag program to improve vocational awareness among high school students who have learning difficulties To study the need to pay attention to vocational guidance and support materially and morally, and to participate students who have learning difficulties themselves in planning guidance programs.

It is the need of the hour to incorporate peace promotion as one of the significant features of the educational institutions in Pakistan. The present study explores the impact of a peace promotion intervention, with control and experimental groups, in order to understand if specific planned activities can significantly improve the peacebuilding attitudes of students. The study is experimental in nature, administering a pre-test and a post-test for both the control and experimental groups. Two equal samples (n=69) of 10th-grade (secondary school) students were selected — using a random sampling technique — for the control and experimental groups. The results of this study indicated that peace interventions — comprising games, hands-on activities, and dialogues — contributed significantly to improving the peace-building attitudes of the students in the experimental group. In addition, the female students of the experimental group exhibited a greater improvement in their peace building attitudes in the post-test phase as compared to their male counterparts. Furthermore, the study also reveals that the female students in the control group also depicted improvement in the post-test. This research presents implications for policymakers and educationists that need to be considered when introducing peace promotion activities into the (secondary) school curriculum. This article argues that practical activities — targeted to inculcate peaceful behavior in the students — can serve as important tools in establishing an environment of peace in society in general.

This pilot study is aimed at evaluating the feasibility of the Smart resilience program for secondary school students. The one group pretest and posttest experiment design conducted by involved 45 of second grades students of secondary school in Province of Bali, Indonesia as a participant. In each are of urban, suburb and rural schools consist of 15 students. The Indonesian version of students well being scale used to collect the data for pretest and post test assessment. Repeated Measure ANOVA conducted on the analysis of the data through the JASP program. The results of this study indicate; (1) Smart-Resilience programs are effective to improve student well-being in overall school areas, (2) there are differences in the effectiveness for students in urban, suburb and rural school areas, (3) the programs achieve a high acceptance and accessibility by students and the school counselor

Any policy that aims to solve the challenges of language teaching and learning must include language assessment research. Language assessment has shown a lot of development in terms of the scientific implications of assessing language capacity for the purposes of advising judgments about people and reviewing language programs (Bachman, 2000). The aim of this research was to look into the relationship between using Dynamic Assessment methods and the writing skill of Iranian EFL students, as well as the impact of DA on student motivation. Secondary school male students from Teheran’s “Mofid” private high school were chosen to participate in this study to accomplish this goal. A general proficiency test (PET) was provided to all participants, which classified them into five levels. The listed exam leveled pre-intermediate students, who were then split into two classes. They were almost equal in terms of scores, materials, and ages. After reviewing and scrutinizing students’ pretests for the required pre-existing information and techniques, resources were provided to the experimental community in the form of mediation pages, instructor explanations, and constructive input. Correspondingly, to determine the impact of the Dynamic Assessment procedure used in this study on students’ motivation and attitude, a Persianlanguage version of the Attitude/Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) was provided to secondary school students studying English as a foreign language, which included each scale mentioned in the’ AMTB item key document (R. C. Gardner, 2004). After ten sessions of treatment, patients were given a post-test that was similar to the pre-test but with new content to see whether DA had any impact on them. The findings revealed that there was no statistically important difference between the Pre and Post-test results. As a result, it was determined that the null hypothesis had not been denied. The findings of the motivation test, on the other hand, revealed that the correlation between pre and post-test was important and that DA had a positive impact on participant motivation.

Objective. This study assessed the impact of toothache on school attendance among secondary school students in the Ha’il Region, Saudi Arabia. Methods. A cross-sectional, paper based survey was conducted among 16–18-year-old students of public sector secondary schools in the Ha’il Region, Saudi Arabia. Results. Of the 510 students selected from the participating schools, 480 were analyzed (94.1%). Of the sample, 50.4% were boys. Among the participants in the study, 86 students reported school absence due to toothache in the six months prior to the survey. Consequently, the prevalence of absenteeism due to toothache in this study was of 18%. Conclusion. The prevalence of school absenteeism due to toothache among students in the Ha’il Region was low. Yet, still, missed school days due to toothache may have implications for students also in the Ha’il Region, Saudi Arabia, as school absenteeism leads to missed opportunities for learning and academic advancement.

The study aimed to know the impact of using integrated education on cognitive achievement and the survival effect of learning for first year secondary school students in chemistry (1). To achieve this goal, the researcher used the experimental method, where 3 experimental samples and 4 control officers were selected. In the post-test as well as in the postponed test for the benefit of the experimental sample and in the light of these results the researcher recommended the need to adopt integrated education in public education and the education of older women and special needs and provide the appropriate environment for its application
