Lanthanum Oxide (La2O3) nanoparticles are successfully synthesized by simple reflux method using starting materials Lanthanum Nitrate and Urea. Lanthanum Oxide (La2O3) have multiple applications such as gas sensors, catalyst, Hydrogen storage, catalysts, photocatalytic wet oxidation etc. This paper mainly focuses on the synthesis of Lanthanum Oxide (La2O3) nanoparticles at different precursor concentration at different reaction time on the properties of the synthesized Lanthanum Oxide (La2O3) nanoparticles can be explored. The synthesized samples were calcinated 500ºC for 1hr. The Lanthanum Oxide (La2O3) nanoparticles were investigated by XRD, FTIR, SEM, & UV studies. The morphology and particle size were analyzed by SEM. The structure of the crystallites was investigated using powder XRD technique. The FTIR analysis was used to examine the functional groups present in the synthesized Lanthanum Oxide (La2O3) nanoparticles. The optical band gap was calculated from the UV-Vis absorption spectra.

Background: In this work, CdS thin films were synthesized by sol-gel method (spin coating technique) on glass substrates to investigate the optical behavior of the film. Methods: Different substrate spin coating speeds of 2400, 3000, 3600 rpm and different Ni dopant concentrations of 0 wt.%, 2.5 wt.%, 5 wt.%) were investigated. The optical properties of thin films such as refraction index, extinction coefficient, dielectric constant and optical band gap energy of the layers were discussed using spectroscopic ellipsometry method in the wavelength range of 300 to 900 nm. Results: It can be deduced that substrate rotation speed and dopant concentration has influenced the optical properties of thin films. By decreasing rotation speed of the substrate which results in films with more thicknesses, more optical interferences were appeared in the results. Conclusion: The samples doped with Ni comparing to pure ones have had more optical band gap energy.

Abstract Nickel oxide thin films have been prepared by sol-gel dip-coating technique on glass substrate. It is shown that nickel oxide thin films have poly crystalline nature. Nickel oxide thin films exhibit high transmission (39–85%) in the wavelength range of 400–900 nm, strong absorption between 300 and 400 nm wavelengths and decrease of band gap values are in the range 3.69–3.27 eV with increase of withdrawal speed. High band gap at low withdrawal speed is because of the small average crystallite size, which decreases with increase in withdrawal speed. The SEM micrograph shows cubic crystallites and surface of thin films become dense, smooth and homogeneous with an increase in withdrawal speed. Assessment of nickel oxide deposition conditions provides gateway for effective and cheap solar cells.

Green synthesis of nickel oxide nanoparticles (NiO NPs) usingPhysalisangulataleaf extract (PALE) as weak base sources and stabilizing agents has been reported. Chemical bonding and vibration spectroscopy, crystallographic structure, optical band gap, particle size and microscopic studies of NiO NPs were also investigated. Ni-O vibration modes of NiO NPs were analyzed by FTIR and Raman instrument at ~400 and ~900 cm-1wavenumber. XRD pattern of NiO NPs confirmed cubic crystal structure with space groupFm-3m.Optical band gap of NiO NPs determined by using Tauc plot method was about 3.42 eV. Particle size analyzer showed size distribution of NiO NPs was 64.13 nm which confirm NiO formed in nanoscale. Electron microscopic studies of NiO NPs were observed by using scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy.

Zinc Oxide thin films were deposited on glass substrates by sol–gel spin coating method. Zinc acetate dihydrate, 2-methoxyethanol and monoethanolamine were used as precursor, solvent and stabilizer, respectively. Zinc acetate dihydrate was used with different molar concentrations of 0.15, 0.25 and 0.5 M. Optical properties of ZnO thin films such as dielectric constants, absorption coefficient, Urbach energy and optical band gap energy were calculated by spectroscopic ellipsometry (SE) method. The effect of zinc acetate concentration on optical properties of ZnO thin films is investigated. ZnO thin film with Zn concentration of 0.25 M had the highest optical band gap. Wemple DiDomenico oscillator model was used for calculation of the energy of effective dispersion oscillator, the dispersion energy, the high frequency dielectric constant, the long wavelength refractive index and the free carrier concentration.
