This article provides a brief look at the impact of digital technology on countries in Asia in relation to the media industry. It then examines the implications of digital technology and the policing of media within the countries of Singapore and China, which have sought to connect to the global economy via its investment in digital technology yet still attempt to maintain some form of control of access to certain digital content on its citizenry. The article concludes with potential directions in which researchers can contribute to the ongoing debate about the impact of the ‘global’ on media and its impact on nation states.

This study aims to describe the impact of foreign culture on the indigenous culture of the community around the Lakey beach location in terms of the positive and negative effects of foreign cultures around Lakey beach in Hu’u village, Dompu district. This study uses a type of qualitative data, the data in this study are in the form of words and actions obtained by observation, interviews and documentation. The main instrument in this study is data assisted by observation, documentation and interview guidelines. The research aids used are in the form of digital cameras and writing equipment. The validity of the data is obtained by triangulation techniques. The data analysis technique used is descriptive. Steps for analyzing data by reducing data, presenting data and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of this study show that 1) Westernized lifestyle tradition is one of them is a way of dressing that is not polite for women such as wearing pants or short skirts and clothes that cannot cover all bodies and some even wear a bikini (underwear only). They do not feel uncomfortable or ashamed of the opposite sex when they wear short clothing or do not cover their entire body. This is considered normal for them so they feel unafraid of the effects of short dressing. 2) Still adopting a consumptive lifestyle, some people still waste money just to do negative things like binge drinking when there are certain events, they are not reluctant to spend a lot of money just to get drunk. Not only to buy liquor they also often buy non-essential needs such as buying clothes that are quite expensive only to spend money. 3) The presence of foreign tourists also results in social inequality, in general, the people are picky about their associations, making the poor feel inferior to the more capable people. According to the Lakey beach community's response that some of the people who have capital or wealth are more likely to reduce associations with the less fortunate because they are considered less experienced in the business world. Until now there has also been no government intervention in responding to this. 4) But of the many negative impacts described by the Lakey community there is also a positive impact felt by the community, namely the creation of jobs and others. In this study many people complained of the impact of foreign cultures, so that people were worried about extinction of their own indigenous cultural values.

The lives of immigrants are forever changed by the many losses that they leave behind during their migration journey. Through the use of poetry, this qualitative research draws upon narrative and art-based approaches to explore the effects of cultural bereavement and migratory grief on the identity and well-being of Latinas Immigrants. Three Latina women shared their grief stories through poetry, disrupting preconceived notions of representation in Canada. Under the lens of Latino critical race theory, issues of race, culture, and gender that intersect to dictate Latinas experiences with migratory grief were analyzed. Findings yielded five theoretical concepts: The cumulation of grief, losses and stress guides process of acculturation, cultural values dictate Latinas settlement, changes in identity, struggle with oppressive systems and resistance and resilience. The result of this research will guide the reader to understand immigrants' experiences with the invisible yet powerful pain of grief associated with migration. Keywords Migratory grief, cultural bereavement, Latinas, Latin America, poetry, Immigration, losses.

AbstractThis paper examines the impact of the twin forces of neoliberalism and globalization on culture in Latin America. It argues that the application of a neo-liberal economic strategy over the past 25 years and the increased integration of the region's economy into the global economy have led to changes in cultural values and lifestyles. There is much evidence to support the idea that the changes denote the diffusion of a US-style market culture, which values individualism, competition, and consumerism. Chile was taken as a case study, as it has the longest and most successful experience with the neo-liberal model and globalization in the region. In Chile, and elsewhere, there are notable changes in political culture, including a less partisan and ideological electorate, increased political apathy, especially among the youth, and campaign formats that emphasize style over substance. At the same time, more complex cultural mixtures are also emerging, in which, for example, new campaign techniques are used to reinforce traditional values. There is also increasing resistance to the application of neo-liberal economic policies and to globalization in the region, although it is unclear to what extent this opposition can stem the international tide.

The paper will discuss the impact of development of sharing economy on ecological sustainability for the tourism sector at global scale since the main focus in the literature is generally limited to economic and social impacts. It will provide a mathematical model in order to measure the impact of the sharing economy on the welfare of individuals who take part in particular tourism destinations as well as providing benefits for other individuals as a positive external outlook. The development of the model will be dependent on the findings obtained in this study. The results will show that the sharing economy together with collaborative consumption in the tourism sector is an increasing trend in global economy that contributes to ecological sustainability as well. By sharing the means of production, transportation, communication etc both tourists and service providers are capable of decreasing their ecological footprints. In conclusion the paper will contribute to the literature by filling a gap with respect to the lack of connection between environmental sustainability and sharing economy in tourism sector.

Education and research are the main vectors that determine the development path of the university, while the transformations of the nature of science are so significant that in the field of education they find expression not only in the emergence of new disciplines and specialties, but also in the revision of the educational paradigm of a modern university. The paper analyzes the impact of transformations of modern science and methods of scientific knowledge production on the university and its research and educational strategies. In technoscience as a modern form of the post-non-classical paradigm of scientific rationality, science and technology form a hybrid of theoretical activity and social practice. Knowledge is produced not only in the context of discovery and underpinning, but also in the context of the estimated consequences of its application. It is shown that the challenges of technoscience, together with the dynamically developing global economy of knowledge, influence the development strategies of the university, which today performs not only research and educational functions, but also implements the mission of social responsibility, contributing to sustainable development, the introduction of responsible technologies and innovations, defending the status of knowledge as public good as opposed to the status of knowledge as social capital. The specificity of the technoscience ethos in the educational landscape of the university is updated, due to the transdisciplinary organization of scientific knowledge. Transdisciplinary research is characterized by a new vertical dimension that goes beyond the plane of object connections not only into the sphere of human as an agent, but also into the sphere of his life, practice, socio-cultural values, combining the complexity of the world with the complexity of human knowledge. The introduction of converging technologies is characterized by the unpredictability of undesirable side effects arising during their creation and operation. In a practical aspect, the ethics of technoscience is designed to contribute to the creation of mechanisms of self-restraint and self-control in conditions of uncertainty; it requires the researcher to be able to self-reflect on the methods, goals and consequences of the technologies usage. The task of a modern university in the context of the technoscience challenges is to cultivate a responsible professional, a person who is aware not only of the epistemic responsibility of a professional, but also of the internal, existential responsibility of a person as a global citizen.

The environment of higher education is becoming a complex landscape that presents multiple challenges for leaders to develop strategies for institutions seeking to thrive in an era of change. There is a tremendous expansion of market providers where quality can be questionable, where governance is lacking, and where the differences in local, cultures, regulations, and specific needs draw attention to the need for quality assurance. Though the global marketplace is changing, there exists an increasing demand for the services of higher education associated with the global economy. Technology has made entering this global market much easier for higher education due to the increase in the ability to provide knowledge through powerful communication tools. The combined forces of technology, new generations of students, uncertainty in the job market and economy, globalization, and all that these forces imply for higher education have created a demand for leaders who develop effective strategic approaches that anticipate multiple variables associated with the present climate. These forces interact on a global scale engaging all the complex factors wrought by international involvement. There is a need for leaders who have the cognitive complexity to lead strategic design and implementation initiatives in this complex global environment.

The pandemic has caused several health issues and deaths and numerous severe devastations to the global economy. Due to the extreme impacts of the epidemics, it is crucial to investigate the pandemics and their pessimistically hidden influences to devise proper strategies. However, although this topic gains enormous recognition from scholars and researchers, there is still an inadequacy of a comprehensive literature review on the issues, and in-depth research on individual aspects of the world economy. Accordingly, the objective of this paper is to contribute a literature review that synthesises and evaluates prior research, to examine the current state of the pandemic impacts on the global economy, as well as become the requisite foundation for the practitioners to perceive how to respond to a pandemic in the future. A literature review is conducted, with 254 most relevant articles are analysed and classified based on the proposed framework. Thus, the findings of this study contribute diverse theoretical and practical insights concerning pandemics and the global economy. The results of this paper indicate the current status of the literature review and discover future research directions. Additionally, this paper proposes an integrated framework of the most influenced industries, followed by some emerging solutions to the most suffering sectors. Future research directions are further suggested based on the identified research gaps and the analysis results.
