Research objective: to study a table salt (PS) role in arterial hypertension (AH) increase with age.Material and methods. Examined 583 patients essential hypertension 1-2-th degree aged 25 to 59 years and 350 practically healthy persons - monitoring group. They investigated the threshold taste sensitivity to the PS (TTSPS) was determined daily urinary excretion of sodium ions with urine with the subsequent recalculation on the programme of the substation, which was received by the person with food in grams on the eve of research.Results. It appeared that in increase of AG accruing with age plays an undoubted role increase in consumption of PS. Thus the increase in consumption of PS is carried out involuntarily and is connected with decrease in sensitivity of the flavoring analyzer to Na. It, in turn, can be caused both age involution of the flavoring analyzer, and decrease in its sensitivity in connection with big consumption of PS.Conclusion. With age at sick AG of action for restriction of consumption of PS have to amplify only. It is possible to believe that at advanced and senile age in treatment of sick AG diuretics start playing rather big role.

The aim of the given work was study interactions of impairments sympa-thetic – adrenal systems functional condition and processes of peroxidal oxida-tion of lipids in woman with metabolic syndrome. 107women at the age of 25-49 were observation. They were randomized into 3 groups: I (control) – 15 healthy persons, II – 43 patients with arterial hypertension, III – 49 women with arterial hypertension in combination with metabolic syndrome. The results of carried investigations showed that activation of sympathetic adrenal system and processes of peroxidal oxidation of lipids took place in metabolic syn-drome. Marked lowering of sympathetic – adrenal system key ferment catechol-amins (MAO monoaminooxidaze) desamidization activity and considerable ac-tivation of peroxidal oxidation of lipid products which have great significance in revealing the mechanism of metabolic syndrome development were observed in metabolic syndrome. This results in the prolonged toxic influence of catechola-mins on myocardium.

It is known that both chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and arterial hypertension are multifactorial diseases, and develop as a result of a complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors. The purpose of this work was to study the metabolism of caspase-7 and caspase-9 in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in combination with arterial hypertension (AH). Materials and methods. We examined 23 patients with a diagnosis of essential hypertension stage II and COPD stage II without a clinically significant concomitant pathology. The plasma level of caspase-7 and caspase-9 was determined using the appropriate ELISA test systems (manufacturer – Bender Medsystems, Austria) at the Medical and Laboratory Training Centre of Zaporizhzhia State Medical University in accordance with the instructions attached to the kit. The analysis of the dynamics of the studied cysteine proteases indicates a statistically significant elevation of these apoptosis markers in the conditions of hypertension and COPD. The value of caspase-7 in the cohort of patients with COPD + AH significantly exceeded similar figures for the groups of patients with a single pathology presented by AH or COPD, and averaged 0.41 ± 0.09 ng / ml. A statistically significant elevation of the caspase-9 level in patients with COPD + AH up to 2.16 ± 0.29 ng / ml compared with other groups also indicates a more significant induction of apoptotic processes in comorbid pathology than in isolated AH or COPD. Conclusion. The obtained results require further clarification of the nature of the relationship between changes in the metabolism of cysteine proteases and the primacy of pathogenetic processes in the mechanisms of risk formation for complications and progression of ventilation disorders in patients with COPD and comorbid essential hypertension.

The paper presents the results of research in which 50 women with essential hypertension illness (arterial hypertension I-II degree) have taken part. 20 patients received long-acting metoprolol therapy (Egilok - retard, EGIS AO) in the dose of 25-100 mg, if necessary in a combination with hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg. In group of comparison (30 subjects) treatment with enalapril (5-10 mg/сут) or by a combination of enalapril and hydrochlorothiazide was administarted. It is shown, that monotherapy by metoprolol-retard allowed to reach a «target» levels of blood pressure in 89,5 % of women, in 10,5 % cases the combined therapy was required. At 12-week of treatment significant improvement of parameters of concentration of attention and anxiety decrease was observed.

Objective. The objective of our study was to compare the performance of vascular stiffness (VS) and the left ventricular (LV) remodeling process indicators in patients with arterial hypertension (AH) under renal replacement therapy (RRT), and patients with essential hypertension.Design and methods. 158 people were included in the study, divided into 4 comparable age groups: 32 patients receiving programmed hemodialysis (PH), 37 recipients of renal transplant (RT), 69 patients with essential AH and 20 healthy volunteers. All the patients underwent 24-hour blood pressure (BP) monitoring with an assessment of VS and central BP (SBPao) and echocardiography (EchoCG).Results. The patients under PH and after RT did not have any significant differences in the values of central and peripheral BP. Comparing the groups of patients under RRT with the group of essential AH, the office systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) BP values did not differ significantly. Аlthough, at night, considerably higher DBP(n) and SBPao(n) values were detected in patients under RRT, and in the patients after RT SBP(n) and PP(n) values were also increased. An increase in the SBPao values of more than 10 m/sec was detected only in the groups of patients under RRT. In all the groups with hypertension all indicators of daily VS differed significantly from the group of healthy volunteers. PTIN (Pulse Time Index of Norm) in the studied groups had more evident differences: in the healthy volunteers it was in the range of 80-90%, in the patients with essential hypertension — 50-60%, and in the patients under PH and after RT — 20-40%. In all groups of patients with AH, the average the posterior wall thickness (PWT) of the LV and the interventricular septum thickness (IVST) were close to the upper limit of the norm. In the groups of patients with AH an increase in the relative wall thickness (RWT) of the LV was also detected. Furthermore, considerably higher the values of ILVmass, IVST were found in the group of patients on PH in comparison with the patients after RT. In addition, in all the groups of patients with AH, there was a tendency to LV spherification in comparison with the healthy volunteers, and in the group of essential AH the difference was more pronounced compared with the group under RRT.Conclusion. In the patients with arterial hypertension who undergo renal replacement therapy, higher average values of central BP, higher vascular stiffness (daily pulse wave velocity in the aorta and a longer period of pulse wave velocity increase in the aorta during the day (PTIN)) and less pronounced left ventricular spherification are recorded in comparison with the patients with essential hypertension while office BP values remained consistent.

A review of foreign and native sources of literature from scientometric databases provides data on the harmful and beneficial properties of such well-known nutrients as table salt and sugar in essential hypertension and associated diseases, primarily in abdominal obesity and diabetes mellitus. The historical aspects of obtaining these nutrients, their participation in the pathogenesis of hypertension, the physiology of sodium and glucose metabolism are considered; the evidence base for prospective epidemiological studies is provided; the negative impact of these products on the intestinal microbiota, alarming statistics of salt and added free sugar abuse in population of different countries, social, economic and medical aspects of excess salt and sugar as risk factors for chronic non-communicable diseases emergence and progression of arterial hypertension are noted. The methods for assessing their amount in food, approaches to inhibiting salt and sugar-rich food abuse are given; the attention on the materials of the WHO, European, American, and Ukrainian guidelines on the safe amount of both nutrients is focused. The paper gives advice on rational nutrition of patients and options for modern diets, first of all, a low-salt DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) from the standpoint of salt and sugar limiting.
