All human beings experience a transitional stage from puberty to adulthood that involves physical, psychological and cognitive changes (Berk,2013). Thus adolescents have to cope with several stressful life changing situations which can disrupt their psychological well-being. This study intends to find out if resilience and spirituality could be correlates of psychological well-being of a sample of 64 adolescents. The tools used included Brief Resilience Scale by B.W Smith et al. (2008), Scales of Psychological Well-being by C.D Ryff et al. (1999) and Spiritual Health Inventory by Beach & Chappel (1992).   The obtained results show that, there is a significant positive relationship between resilience and spirituality, and resilience and psychological well-being. It also shows the significance of gender difference in resilience. Thus, the results imply that an effort should be made at a very young age to enhance resilience, so that people will experience a better psychological well-being.

This study investigates the psychological effects of participation in Death Education (DeEd) by middle school children in two towns in northeast Italy in which suicides occur to a greater extent than in the rest of the region. The aims of the project “Beyond the Wall” were inherent to the prevention of suicide, address existential issues and enhance the meaning of life through positive intentions for the future and reflection on mortality. It involved eight classes (150 students in four classes in the experimental group; 81 in four classes in the control group) engaging with films, workgroup activities, photovoice and psychodrama. The constructs of resilience, emotional competency and psychological well-being were monitored with the Resilience Scale for Adolescents, the Hopelessness Scale for Children, the Alexithymia Questionnaire for Children and the Stirling Children’s Well-being Scale. The DeEd intervention was found to be significantly related to some of the variables investigated, improving the students’ ability to recognise emotions and communicate them verbally while maintaining stable initial characteristics, such as psychological well-being and positive expectations for the future.

The data that has been collected is then analyzed using multiple regression analysis techniques assisted by the SPSS 21.0 for Windows program. The results showed that Rx1.2y = 0.530 with a value of F = 13.082 with p = 0.000 (p <0.01) which means the hypothesis is accepted that there is a significant positive relationship between the meaningfulness of life and the regularity of prayer with psychologycal well-being in students with R2 = 0.281. The ability of life and regular prayers contributed 28.1% to psychologycal well-being. The second result with rx1y = 0.302 with p = 0.011 (p <0.05) which showed a significant positive relationship between meaningfulness of life with psychologycal well-being in the 2016 class year students at the Faculty of Usuluddin and Religious Studies of UIN Raden Intan Lampung.
