The study investigated the usage of the F-Word among high school students. It also studied the various factors influencing them to use the word. The sample consisted of 200 students-100 boys and 100 girls, of 10th grade from different schools in North and South Bangalore. The participants provided their demographic details and completed the F-Word Survey Questionnaire. Descriptive statistics were performed to analyze the data. The results suggest that, on an average, 73.5% of 10th grade students have reported to use the F-Word. The percentage of boys is more than the girls, with respect to the usage of the F-Word. The reasons for using the F-word, in the ascending order of most no. of responses, were- anger/frustration, difficulty in using a decent word instead of the F-Word, peer influence, movie/TV/music influence, the feeling of „grown up‟, fun factor, trend factor, to abuse, and parental/family influence. Girls use the F-Word more due to anger or frustration, difficulty in using a decent word to express their thoughts, the feeling of „grown up‟ and parental or family influence, than boys. Also, boys are more influenced by peers, movie/TV/music, fun and trend factors and use the F-Word to abuse, than girls. It was also found that students use the F-Word more in Texting (SMS) than on social networking sites, email and chat rooms. The results also suggest that, on an average, 27.89% of students have reported that their parents are aware of their children using the F-Word. And, 55.88% of students have reported that the F-word usage is inappropriate of their age. On an average, 26.5% of students do not use the F-Word. The percentage of girls who do not use the F- Word is higher than the boys.

This research analyzed the readability of reading texts taken from English textbooks for grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kabanjahe of 2016/2017 entitled English in Focus published by Pusat Perbukuan Departemen Pendidikan Nasional. Being important a textbook as the most used in sources of a class, textbook should be readable and appropriate for the students especially for the reading texts inside it. The goal of this research was to find out how is the readability of those reading texts in the textbook.To describe and investigate the readability, this research used a readability formula measurement called SMOG Grading Formula which is found by G. Harry Mc. Laughlin. The source of the data were 20 reading texts taken randomly from English in Focus textbook.The major findings of the study showed that the readability of 20 reading texts were in the variety level for students within 5th elementary school to the 10th grade high school students level, and it found that 13 of 20 reading texts or about 65% of the data are appropriate for the 8th grade students who are the user of the book. Meanwhile, this research also found reading texts which are not appropriate for the students. There are 3 reading texts are too easy and 4 are too difficult for them. So, 35% reading texts in the data is not appropriate for 8th grade students.

Introduction. Modern curriculum («Physical culture 10-11 classes») for the last decades is developed according to requirements of operating standards of basic and full general secondary education. In particular on a modular system Aim is to find out the changes of technical preparedness of high school students according to the results of implementation the variable module "Wrestling". Material and methods. There were used theoretical analysis and generalization of scientific and methodical data and sources of the Internet, analysis of documentary materials, pedagogical testing, pedagogical experiment (there was tested the effectiveness of the developed variable module "Wrestling" in the physical education of high school students in secondary schools), methods of mathematical statistics. During the 2017-2019, school years were involved 53 students of 10 classes (31 boys and 22 girls) and 74 students of 11 classes (41 boys and 33 girls). Results. Analysis of the 10th grade boys’ results indicated the presence of significant changes a high level (p≤0.01). In all cases, the average scores improved by 0.54-0.71 points (from 16.79% to 22.66% of initial level). The girls of the 10th grade best realized the technical and tactical elements standing - dumping, beating (24.76% improvement from the initial level) and on the ground - twists and somersault (24.51%, respectively). For 11th grade boys technical and tactical improvement there was on the level of p≤0.05(9.35–18.45% of the initial level). According to the percentage values for 11th grade girls, in general, there were changes in grades by 10.67–21.13% from the initial level. Conclusions. It was found that in most technical and tactical elements, girls show higher relative rates of improvement. The only exception is in somersault with running, where the boys had the best changes. The factors of this are the better functional start an organism of young people at the beginning of the pedagogical experiment and higher indicators of fitness, which all owed to better master the technique of the wrestling elements at the beginning of the variable module. The girls gradually increased both fitness and technique of performing theses pacificelements of wrestling.

The aim of this research is to create a teaching material and method in writing poetry using lotus techniques. This research also uses research and development methods. It is research that produces certain products and the effectiveness of their use. The product that will be produced in this research is in the form of poetry writing teaching materials developed with lotus techniques for 10th grade of Senior High School students in MAS Tahfizil Medan. The results of this study indicate that 10th grade students need new methods and teaching materials in improving their understanding in writing poetry. And after testing the lotus technique is very efficient to improve students' ability to write poetry. After the posttest and pretest results the results obtained are the low category by 3.33%, the medium category by 93.34%, and the high category by 3.33%.

This study was aimed at testing a model which applies structural equation modeling (SEM) to explain social networking sites (SNS) usage. Performing SEM with a sample of 500 high school students (40% male, 60% female), the model examined the relationships among shame, guilt and pride on SNS, such Facebook and Twitter. It was hypothesized that SNS usage was predicted directly by shame and indirectly by pride and guilt. The SEM showed that shame affected SNS usage directly and positively, while guilt and pride indirectly affected SNS via shame. The fit indices of SEM produced good fit values (χ2 = 0.11, df = 2, χ2/df = 0.055, p = 0.94532, RMSEA = 0.00, GFI = 1.00, AGFI = 1.00, NFI = 1.00, NNFI = 1.00, CFI = 1.00, IFI = 1.00, RMR = 0.039; SRMR = 0.0042). According to these results, high school students’ feelings of shame, guilt and pride are important predictors of SNS usage.

This research study intends to explore the cyber bullying experiences of selected students in a non-Arab High School institution in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). To carry out this intention, the researchers extracted themes in the narratives of lived experiences and analyzed transcribed interview data provided by 10 respondents who underwent a rigid pre-qualifying process of selection. The study is focused on the cyberbullying experiences of the students engaged in social networking sites in Dubai. The respondents of the study were Grade 11 and 12 senior high school students, age 15-18 years old, both male and female. Further, this study determined the emotional, psychosocial and cognitive needs presented by the respondents.The researchers used phenomenological, qualitative analysis of narrative data research design.  Through purposive sampling method, ten students from the 100 targeted senior high school students were selected for in-depth interview. The participants were selected based on their experiences as a victim of cyberbullying like exclusion, denigration, masquerade, outing and discrimination.From the emerging themes, there were related theories presented in the framework focused on the emotional, psychosocial and cognitive needs of the victims of cyberbullying. The result of the study is conclusive as evident by victims of cyberbullying whose emotional, psychosocial and intellectual state of being were affected. However, they demonstrated willingness to form a support group to extend help to people of the same dilemma and further a more comprehensive and recommendatory approach on this study.

AbstractAcademic cheating behavior in schools have been discussed and reported. Students display academic cheating behavior during tests, quizzes, or tasks. The dynamics of academic cheating behavior is complex and not easily explained with just one factor. The external factors such as peer influence, teacher’s teaching methods, parental pressure, and academic climate are factors that interact with each other to bring out student academic cheating behavior. The grades or numbers from the tests, quizzes, or tasks are used to represent the students’ academic performance in school. On junior high school, cheating is already common, generally conducted during tests or quizzes in the form of copying the answers of other students and cooperating on the test. This research is a preliminary quantitative study in the attempt to describe academic cheating behavior on 139 grade XII junior high school students. Sample collection was conducted with “multistage random stratified sampling” or graded/leveled random collection method, which is a sample collection method with population units grouped into homogeneous groups. Research results showed that there were no correlation between students’ knowledge of plagiarizing behavior with the behavior appearance (r = -.0.096, p = 0.260) and between knowledge of cheating behavior with the behavior appearance (r = -0.08, p = 0.925). However, there was a difference on the appearance of plagiarizing behavior reviewed from the knowledge of plagiarism (F = 2.303, p = 0.038) while there was no difference on cheating behavior reviewed from the knowledge of cheating (F = 1.18, p = 0.355). This showed that the frequency of students conducting cheating or plagiarizing behavior was not merely based on their level of knowledge.

The Peer group is composed of equal status, where students within a given peer group are of the same age and have the same social status. The performance task is any learning activity or assessment that asks students to perform to demonstrate their knowledge, understanding, and proficiency. Performance tasks as part of the student’s performance in school, probably this might be influenced by peers of the students.  The study used a descriptive design to determine the influence of peer on the performance task of the students. A total of 243 Senior High students of Jagobiao National High School answered the Likert scale questionnaire, an instrument used by the researcher to conduct the study. The study used weighted mean and chi-square to determine whether peer influence has an association with students’ performance tasks. The results show that peers can influence students’ performance tasks. It was shown in the study that students get a low grade from skipping classes together with their peers. The study concluded that there is an association between peer influence and academic performance of the students. Therefore, peer plays a big role in student’s academic engagement and academic success.
