School adjustment and coping strategies are vital elements of students' lives because they help them adapt and function well to their environment, thereby preventing countless mental health problems. However, despite the robust information about the importance and benefits of adaptability or adjusting well to one's environment, many students still encounter school adjustment problems. Luckily, students often resort to various coping strategies in order to deal with their problems effectively. Hence, the paper determined the degree of school adjustment problems and the extent of coping strategies of senior high school students of a Diocesan Catholic school in Antique during the School Year 2019-2020. Likewise, it determines the correlation between school adjustment problems and students' coping strategies and whether good coping strategies predict school adjustment problems.

Представлены результаты проведенного эмпирического исследования по проблеме стратегий преодоления и толерантность к неопределенности учащихся старших классов. С помощью полученных данных в исследовании выявлена взаимосвязь стратегий преодоления и толерантность к неопределенности учащихся старших классов. Выявлены значимые положительные связи толерантности к неопределенности и стратегий преодоления - например, прямая связь с конструктивной стратегией преодоления «поиск социальной поддержки». Presents the results of empirical a study on coping strategies and tolerance for uncertainty in high school students. Using the data obtained, the study revealed the relationship between coping strategies and tolerance for uncertainty in high school students. Significant positive relationships of tolerance to uncertainty and coping strategies have been identified, for example, a direct relationship with the constructive coping strategy «search for social support».

Today, stress is growing day by day among students with single-parents, yet the basic concepts to minimalize, endure, and master the stress are often ignored.  In many places around the world, students experience significant academic distress, and being unaware of how to deal with it is a serious concern, which worsens the school-setting situation. Education and social support systems are prime movers in developing and enriching students, particularly in adopting appropriate coping strategies. Hence, this paper describes the level of academic stress and the extent of coping strategies of high school students with single-parents in a Catholic School in Antique during the school year 2019-2020.  Likewise, it explores the relationship existing between the students' demographics and their academic stress and coping strategies.

Academic stress is a certain level of academic-related demands that exceed the students' adaptive capabilities. Related to this is coping strategies, which is a mindful effort to endure the stress. Thus, the descriptive-correlational research determined the associations among the demographic variables, the level of academic stress, and the extent of coping strategies. Academic Stress Scale and COPE Inventory standardized tests, were used among sixty-seven Filipino high school students with single-parents of a Catholic school. The data were statistically analyzed using Mean, Standard Deviation, Pearson r, and Spearman rank correlation. As a whole, their academic stress is low with no significant relationship between academic level and single-parents' educational level.  However, a moderate level of academic stress was found with a significant relationship between sex and family monthly income. The overall coping strategies is great with a significant relationship between family monthly income. However, there is no significant relationship between coping strategies and academic level, sex, and single-parents' educational level. Finally, no significant relationship was found between academic stress and coping strategies. The study recommends designing an enhanced stress management program for high school students.

In an investigation of the problems and coping strategies of Australian high school students, comparisons were made between the responses of 1664 students enrolled in Years 8 to 12 in 1988,1620 students enrolled in the same year levels in 1993, and 178 high school teachers in 1993. The subjects completed the High School Stressors Scale (Burnett & Fanshawe, 1997) and the Adolescent Coping Strategies Scale (Burnett & Fanshawe, 1996). Data analyses using MANOVAs, ANOVAs, and t-tests revealed close similarities between the responses of the 1993 students and those of the 1988 students, but a considerable amount of incongruence between the responses of the students and those of the teachers. In particular, the teachers generally seemed to regard their students' problems as being more serious than was acknowledged by the students, and the teachers generally seemed to project a less positive view of adolescents' coping strategies than did the students. These discrepancies are discussed in terms of the different orientations that students and teachers bring to the student-teacher relationship. It is suggested that teachers and counsellors need to take cognisance of the differences between adolescents' perspectives and their own if they are going to be effective in assisting students to develop positive coping strategies and in creating more positive learning environments.

Background/Aim. To reduce the risk of burnout development of medical professionals, it is important to identify the contributing factors as early as in their schooling years. The aim of this research is to propose a model that will determine the relationship between the coping strategies medical high school and medical faculty students use, and burnout. Methods. The cross-sectional study included 164 medical high school students (80.5% female and 19.5% male students) and 344 students of the University of Belgrade - Faculty of Medicine (76.9% female and 23.1% male students). The model exploring the relationship between coping strategies (measured by Brief COPE scale) and burnout (measured by CBI-S scale) was tested using structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis. Results. When coping with stress, medical high school students use Acceptance, Venting, Behavioural Disengagement, and Planning that increase their burnout, and they do not use any strategies that would help them reduce burnout. When coping with stress, medical faculty students use Planning, Acceptance, Humour, Venting, Behavioural Disengagement, Self-Blame, and Substance Use that increase their burnout and Positive Reframing which helps them reduce burnout. Conclusion. The results of this research show an evident lack of use of adaptive coping strategies with both groups of respondents. Proper education would help them replace these dysfunctional coping strategies with more constructive ones.
