The design of inner space or better known as interior design is the study of design in a building and used to solve human problems. One of scientific studies based on design science, this scientific field aims to beable to create a built environment (inner space) along with its supporting elements, both physical and non-physical. So that the quality of human life in it becomes better. The interior design process aims to solve complex problems related to human response to space. To be able to solve the problem in its entirety, it requires an appropriate design concept. The success of the design concept depends on the approach taken in the preparation process.Interior spatial concepts can be built by understanding several things, including: components of design understanding, analytical design schemes, design mindset mapping, design approach methods, and ending with the design concept used in interior planning & design processes. By understanding these things, a scope of interior design in solving design problems is expected to be resolved clearly and systematically, so that the process of drafting the proper interior design & planning concepts can be done more easily. The right concept will eventually be able to tie the design results into a fully integrated design

The purpose of this paper was to make people aware of the new concept design of the food court that influence the ambiance and related to the attractiveness factors. The method of documentation of the interior element was done by the analysis to the food court in Senayan City. It was expected to be a comparison of the previous design before the renovation (Food Studio) in connection with the modernization and renewal of the design (Delicaè). Some design elements such as floor wall and ceiling that applied must bear a lasting impression and be an inbuilt piece of the decoration that linked to scale, style, and color. This research was potentially contributed to shopping malls attractiveness factors and their impact on shoppers’ satisfaction in shopping malls in Jakarta and outside the city. It can be concluded that updating the design is very important if the shopping malls do not want to left-behind in this modern area. The comparison has been made between old-design with the new one that is found out that people nowadays are very open-minded about design and do care about attractive things in shopping malls.

Jelambar, Grogol Petamburan, with Jelambar Baru and Wijaya Kusuma, are one united district with a high density of residential population, that have hobby and habit on culinary business, that form many culinary centers and spread unevenly until Jelambar that caused Jelambar to have no culinary center like other districts have. Pawon Jelambar is designed to resolve issues of Jelambar that has no third place that needed by the district with a high density of population; also the low intensity of culinary. However, there are so many neglected small culinary businesses, because of many factors, one of them is a less strategic location. Pawon Jelambar wants to realize Jelambar’s unconsciously need of forming a place of culinary that integrated and has a clarity, by substitute all the small culinary businesses with Pawon Jelambar, with the purpose to increase culinary needs quality of Jelambar. This project is designed through designing stages as a method of design, such as understanding the district segment of Grogol Petamburan; arranging a diagram of issues of Jelambar and issues solving concept; design concept as the result of questionnaire answers analysis; zoning and space programs; analysis of project’s site determination; site analysis. All these analyses form building mass concepts; exterior and interior design; architectural details. The design result is Pawon Jelambar that uses the design concepts, such as green contemporary design, form and function runs together, and contextualism in responding site; with variants of culinary, mini market, culinary workshops, temporary exhibition, and food gallery, as the main architectural programs. Keywords: Architecture; Culinary; Jelambar; Pawon Jelambar; Third place AbstrakJelambar, Grogol Petamburan, bersama Jelambar Baru dan Wijaya Kusuma adalah satu-kesatuan kawasan padat penduduk hunian yang memiliki hobi dan kebiasaan berdagang kuliner, sehingga muncul beberapa pusat-pusat kuliner, namun penyebarannya tidak merata sampai Jelambar, sehingga Jelambar tidak memiliki sebuah pusat kuliner layaknya di titik kawasan lain.

An innovative flexure design concept is developed that involves the use of composite materials with bonded piezoelectric actuators to create a “smart actuator” for nanometer scale positioning both in and out of plane. The utilization of smart actuators/sensors will have many benefits over current positioning stages including the utilization of advantageous composite properties, the increase of the resonant frequency of the stage system, the simplification of the manufacturing procedure, and possible increased range of motion. Enhanced mechanical response is made possible by using composite materials and proper layer orientation. This work is a “proof of concept” design for the ultra-precision smart actuator. Analytical and numerical models were developed to determine the response of the composite material and piezoelectric actuator system. Experimentation was performed on the system to verify the results of the mathematical and numerical models. Good correlation between mathematical, numerical, and experimental data was seen in axial and bending modes of operation. Results from the parametric and experimental verification studies are presented to illustrate the efficacy of the design concept.

Abstract The purpose of the present document is to describe a design proposal for a flexible blade that can adapt its aerodynamic profile and fulfill the “Shape-Morphing concept.” The design is based on the analysis of the geometrical changes that a specific baseline aerodynamic profile must undergo during the shape-morphing process to another aerodynamic profile. The concept design assumes that the arc length of the aerodynamic profiles remains constant; therefore, the cord length changes from one configuration to the other. The proposed mechanism deforms the baseline profile in a way that it assures a continuous path between the aerodynamic forms. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed mechanism, a flexible blade prototype was constructed and tested while morphing from a NACA 0012-based shape to a NACA 4412-based shape. The experimental results indicate that it is possible to implement a shape-morphing mechanism within small wind turbine blades that is able to accurately modify their geometrical shape and, thus, their aerodynamics, providing a novel alternative for control and operation optimization.
