In this paper, the behavior of concrete-filled double skin steel tubes (CFDST) with simply supported boundary condition was analyzed by Finite Element Analysis method. The Finite Element analysis mode was established and the results have a good consistent with experimental results. The work mechanic and full range analysis of concrete filled double steel tube under lateral impact were analyzed, the results show that the damage of CFDST with simply supported boundary condition under lateral impact is in ductile manner.

As a new type of steel-concrete composite structure, Concrete-Filled Double Skin Steel Tubes not only have the advantages of the traditional steel concrete structures, but also carried out cross-section and great bending stiffness. This structure is widely used in high-rise buildings, bridges and power facilities. During the whole life cycle, concrete-filled double skin steel tubes may inevitably suffer from various impact loads. In current the research about steel-concrete composite structure focuses on the performance about axial compression, bias, bending, and low cyclic loads. but the research about it under lateral impact is equally import. In this paper, the behavior of concrete-filled double skin steel tubes (CFDST) with fixed boundary condition was analyzed by Finite Element Analysis method ,to analyze the destruction modal, impact force (F) , deflection () as well as other dynamic responses of CFDST under different lateral impact energy. The work mechanic and full range analysis of concrete filled double steel tube under lateral impact were analyzed. The results show that the damage of CFDST with fixed boundary condition under lateral impact is in ductile manner. Analyzed the whole process of the dynamic response basically , laid the foundation for further parametric analysis and practical calculation method.

In this study, the ultimate bending moment of circular concrete-filled double skin steel tubes (CFDSTs) was investigated. A CFDSTs made of two concentric circular steel tubes with concrete infill and M16 shear connector system was fabricated. The four-point bending test of the 10 m long CFDST consisting of outer and inner steel tubes with 914.4 mm and 514.4 mm in diameter, respectively, was carried out and the ultimate bending moment of the CFDST was investigated. A finite element (FE) simulation of the CFDSTs subjected to bending was developed using the commercial software ABAQUS and the accuracy of the developed FE model was verified by comparing to the experimental result. The ultimate bending moment of CFDSTs was then evaluated with respect to different concrete infill compressive strengths and yield strengths of the steel tubes. The corresponding design ultimate bending moments of the CFDST with regard to the design codes AISC and EC4 were also computed. The results revealed that EC4 and AISC can accurately predict the ultimate moment capacities of the CFDST with shear connector.
