Masa remaja merupakan masa yang sangat penting dalam pengembangan karier. Dukungan orang tua dan juga keterampilan remaja dalam memanfaatkan peristiwa tak terduga sebagai peluang karier memengaruhi efikasi diri dalam membuat keputusan karier. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran planned happenstance dalam memediasi hubungan career-related parent support dan efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier pada siswa SMP. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 136 siswa SMP. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah Career-Related Parent Support Scale, Career Decision Self-Efficacy-Short Form, dan Planned Happenstance Career Inventory yang diadaptasi ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa career-related parent support memengaruhi efikasi diri pengambilan keputusan karier secara langsung maupun melalui mediasi planned happenstance. Penelitian selanjutnya dapat menganalisis hubungan career-related parent support dan planned happenstance.

Abstract –Adolescence is an important period for career development. Parent support and adolescent’s skills in seeking career opportunities from unexpected encounters contribute to adolescent’s self-efficacy in career decision making. The present study examined the mediating role of planned happenstance in the relationship between career-related parent support and self-efficacy in career decision making among junior high school students. Participants comprised of 136 junior high school students. The instrument used in this study were the Indonesian translations of Career-Related Parent Support Scale, Career Decision Self-Efficacy-Short Form, and Planned Happenstance Career Inventory. Results suggested that career-related parent support affects career decision-making self-efficacy directly or through the mediation of planned happenstance. The study concludes by outlining the importance of future studies to analyze the relationship between career-related parent support and planned happenstance. Abstrak — Masa remaja merupakan masa yang sangat penting dalam pengembangan karier. The aim of this study is to examine the impact of type II thinking style on career decision self-efficacy through planned happenstance skills through mediation of planned happenstance skills in adolescence. There was 720 students from three excellence schools who were participated in this quantitative study. The data were collected by using three scales: Career Decision Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form, Thinking Style Inventory – Revised II, and Planned Happenstance Career Inventory, that have been adapted to Indonesian version by the researcher and previous researchers. The researchers were used macro PROCESS to analyzed the data. The result showed type II thinking style can affect career decision self-efficacy partially ( c = .3280, p = .0000; c’ = .1917, p = .0000). Based on the result of this study, we concluded when adolescents have good quality of planned happenstance skills, it can help adolescence who have type II thinking style have a good career decision self-efficacy.

 The increasing number of dentists shows that this profession is one of the most popular career choices in Indonesia. The type of dentist professional development varies so that career planning is an important thing that has a big influence on one's future. The social-cognitive career theory (SCCT) perspective explains that there is a relationship between career self-efficacy, career outcome expectation, career intention and career exploration in the career selection process. By using SCCT, this study aimed to determine the career exploration-related behavior relationship, which consists of career self-efficacy, career outcome expectations, career intention and career exploration, in the career determination for dentistry students in Indonesia. This research is an observational analytic study of 505 samples of undergraduate and profession students of dentistry who have filled out an online questionnaire from March to June 2019. An online questionnaire consisting of a Career Decision Making Self-Efficacy-Short Form (CDMSE-SF), Career Decision Outcome Expectation (CDMOE), Career Exploration Planning or Intention Questionnaire (CEPI), Career Exploration Survey-Revised (CES-R), which has translated and validated. All models are analyzed using the maximum possible estimation of the AMOS application. This research showed that there was a significant relationship between having a career plan and father's job. This study concluded that self efficacy, outcome expectation, and career intention influence the career exploration of dentistry students significantly both directly and indirectly.

 The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between alexithymia and career decision -making self-efficacy among Tenth and Eleventh grade students in Muscat governorate. To achieve this purpose,  Alexithymia Scale (AS),and CDMSE Short Form were administered to a total sample of 556 students of Tenth and Eleventh grades ( (n = 278) males and (n = 278) females . Findings revealed that the level of alexithymia was less than the mean of items, while the level of CDMSE was more than the mean of items, as well as there was no significant correlational relationship between alexithymia and CDMSE. The findings also indicated that there were significant gender differences in alexithymia, while there were no significant gender differences in CDMSE. With regard to GPA, the findings revealed that there were no significant differences in alexithymia, while there were significant differences in CDMSE. Conclusion: It concludes that although there was no significant correlational relationship between alexithymia and career decision-making self-efficacy, alexithymia negatively affects individual’s decisions in life.

Abstract This study aimed to determine the correlation of career decision-making self-efficacy and career decision making. The hypothesis of this study that there is a correlation between self-efficacy and career decision making. Subjects in this study are 405 high school students in Jakarta. This study used quantitative research methods and data collection using CDSE-SF (Career Decision Self Efficacy- Short Form) and CDS (Career Decision Scale) which has been translated into Indonesian. The result of the reliability test for CDSE-SF scale was 0.840 and 0.866 for CDS scale. The result validity test of CDSE-SF from 0.310 to 0.551; while CDS of 0.334 to 0.641. The process of data analysis using SPSS 17 applications, Pearson product moment correlation. These results contrast with the hypothesis, there was no correlation between career decision making self-efficacy and career decision making (r = 0.094, p> 0.05). It can be concluded that the proposed hypothesis is rejected. This study has contributed in the field of educational psychology research additions adolescent career.Keywords: career decision-making self-efficacy, career decision making

This study was conducted to explore the differences in personality and level of career decision-making self-efficacy (CDMSE) by gender among pre-university students. Besides, this study also conducted to identify the relationship between personality and CDMSE among pre-university students. This study uses a mixed method design in determining the relationship between personality and self-efficacy in career decision making. The respondent be selected by using simple random sampling method, as 175 student Pre-University and 5 respondents were selected to interview in obtaining qualitative findings. Data was collected by using Big Five Inventory-2 (BFI-2) and Career Decision Making Self-efficacy Scale Short Form (CDMSE-SF). Data analyzed using Statistical Package Social Science 25.0 (SPSS). The results showed no difference between conscientiousness (t(173)=0.280,p<0.05), openness (t(173)=0.613,p<0.05), neuroticism (t(173)=1.434,p<0.05), agreeableness (t(173)=0.857, p<0.05, extraversion (t(173)=-0.559, p<0.05) and level of CDMSE (t(173)=1.558, p<0.05). The finding also revealed that conscientiousness, (r=0.505**, n=175, p<0.05) openness, (r=0.212**, n=175, p<0.05) neuroticism, (r=0.366**, n = 175, p<0.05) and extraversion (r=0.486**, n=175, p<0.05) had a significant relationship with CDMSE among Pre-University students. However, there is no significant relationship between agreeableness and CDMSE (r=0.128, n=175, p<0.05). The result was supported by qualitative findings, which show the relationship between personality and CDMSE. This study is significant for students, counselor, and educators in helping students related to their careers.
