AbstractA river was highly significant in search of a settlement in the past, which is why there have been numerous findings of pre-historic sites and activities at watersheds. Findings of stone artifacts of the same kind at some estuaries indicate similar environment exploitations. Such exploitations could have been at relatively the same time or at a different time. To know the past activity more accurately, morphological and technological analyses on the stone artifacts need implementing.Furthermore, a comparative analysis on the findings of similar artifacts along with their distribution is an inseparable method in investigating the culture and the distance and space of the pre-historic men. The Sumatralith distribution at the Bay of Belawan’s estuaries indicates exploitations by men inhabiting the site of Bukit Kerang Percut by using the river channel as the hunting navigation to the highland of Tanah Karo covering 25-30 km of exploration area. Such interpretation indicates the direction of exploration from the lowland (the site of Bukit Kerang Percut) to the highland of Tanah Karo. The existence of the site of Bukit Kerang Percut and Sumatralith distribution also indicate the settlement of Hoabinh culture people at the highland whose exploration space covered the lower land.

Abstract Are historic sites and house museums destined to go the way of Oldsmobiles and floppy disks?? Visitation has trended downwards for thirty years. Theories abound, but no one really knows why. To launch a discussion of the problem in the pages of The Public Historian, Cary Carson cautions against the pessimistic view that the past is simply passéé. Instead he offers a ““Plan B”” that takes account of the new way that learners today organize information to make history meaningful.

Education is an activity requiring lengthy efforts and perseverance, as well as skills for acquiring information and its creative usage. All this is based on prolonged motivation, directly related to the improvement of the educational development and the consecutive professional realization. Long-term objectives serve as coordinating terms leading to particular goals in the everyday life and thus, behaviour could be rationalized and directed in a longer prospective towards both the past and the future. The aim of the present study is to survey the opinion and personal assessment of the long-term motivation of students from NSA “Vassil Levski”, Sofia and students from Nish, Serbia. The research was conducted from November 2016 to May 2017. It was done among 96 students (45 fourth-year students at NSA and 51 students from the University in Nish). The students had to fill out a test consisting of 10 questions related to their personal assessment of their long-term motivation. The results of the study were processed mathematically and statistically by: variation analysis, relative share, comparative analysis of two independent samples and comparative analysis of the frequency distributions with χ² – the Pearson criterion.According to the generalized conclusions, a higher percentage of the Bulgarian students is directed towards long-term objectives and prospects than the percentage of the Serbian students. Women are more motivated in their long-term development than men but there are not statistically significant differences along all the questions. Athletes’ motivation is higher than the average one for the whole population. We believe, however, that the motivation changes in the course of the studies and we assume it is higher for the students who are about to graduate.

The paper is devoted to preliminary data from a study of the Vavilino 1 site in Western Kazakhstan. The monument was first opened by N.M. Malov in 1986, later he picked artifacts from the surface in 1988. In 1991 N.L. Morgunova carried out excavations on the site, which showed the importance of this monument study to understand the Neolithic Volga-Ural interfluve. The monument is located on the right bank of the Derkul River and is currently classified as an emergency. In 2018, employees of the Institute of Archeology named after A.Kh. Margulan in the framework of the Stone Age study in Western Kazakhstan started to work on the monuments of Yeshkitau, Derkul 1 and Vavilino 1. At the Vavilino 1 site a small excavation area - 16 square meters was made, more than a thousand stone artifacts were received; fragments of ceramics and bone remains of animals were poorly diagnosed. Excavations have shown the presence of a 15-20 cm thick cultural layer belonging to the Neolithic time. The upper layer of the monument with a capacity of up to 30 cm was destroyed by anthropogenic activities in the past century. The material from the cultural layer is not numerous; tip scrapers, fragments of plates with retouching, geometrical microliths, prismatic nucleus for plates, etc. are typologically distinguished.

Predictive maintenance has evolved considerably over the past two decades making this strategy an effective way to monitor the operation of industrial systems, thereby predicting its future states and remaining lifespan. It is therefore developed through a process that begins with the collection of information from the industrial system, the objective of which is its diagnosis or / and its prognosis. This article presents an analysis of single-model and multi-model approaches to the effect of diagnostic and prognostic tasks. This analysis is based on a multi-criteria comparison of the different models in order to provide a clear vision to choose the appropriate approach for predictive maintenance. The relevance of the comparative study is argued by the development of criteria directly impacting performance, reliability, efficiency and mutual cooperation between models. Conclusions are then drawn, in order to identify the appropriate diagnostic and prognostic approach for predictive maintenance.

Abstract Various aspects of innovation management have been discussed in literature over the past few decades. Most of the innovation management frameworks have been formulated by undertaking studies in the developed world and lack the industry / culture specific focus. In this paper we revisit the generic innovation management studies to develop an innovation management framework for highlighting the factors affecting innovation specifically at the ICT sector of Pakistan. A detailed literature review has been conducted to identify the factors included in the past innovation management models. To identify the factors specific for Pakistan, senior level professionals, working at the Pakistani ICT organizations were interviewed. A comparative analysis of the innovation management frameworks for Pakistan against those previously found in literature revealed interesting similarities and differences. Based on the study findings, an innovation management framework is developed that highlights the present factors which are important for innovation in the ICT sector for Pakistan. This framework can be used by Pakistan and other underdeveloped countries for improving their innovation in ICT sectors in particular and other sectors in general.

This study consists of a comparative analysis of four films which fall under the category of “cinema on cinema”. These films are Cinema Paradiso (Giuseppe Tornatore, 1988, Italy), Zıkkımın Kökü (Memduh Ün, 1993, Turkey), Karpuz Kabuğundan Gemiler Yapmak/ Boats out of Watermelon Rinds ( Ahmet Uluçay, 2004, Turkey), Sinema Bir Mucizedir/ Cinema is a Miracle (Memduh Ün- Tunç Başaran, 2005, Turkey). It will be argued that these films have four main points of similarity. First, they are the instances of “cinema on cinema”; second, they are biographical films; third, their plots are constructed upon the rural lives of the past; fourth, they are about cinephilia.

This article examines the works of A. E. Kulakovsky based on theoretical positions of D. S. Likhachev and practical data from commentaries to the volume II of A. E. Kulakovsky (author P. V. Maksimov), as well as conducts comparative analysis of the early versions with major texts of A. E. Kulakovsky. The subject of this research is the comparative analysis of A. E. Kulakovsky's early publications with major texts. The goal consists in determination and description of the authorial editing and revisions, which allows substantiating their motives for, as well as tracing the evolution of author’s thought. The discrepancies between the texts of early period and major text are viewed as improvements: addition of lines, substitution of separate words, rearrangement lines and stanzas. The novelty of this study consists in substantiation of early publications of A. E. Kulakovsky and lifetime edition as the subject of textological research. From this perspective, early publications of the works of A. E. Kulakovsky's are attributed to as research materials of cross-disciplinary nature: as the testimonies of the stage of establishment of Yakut literature as a whole, and as the variants of writer's major texts that reveal the history of his works in particular. The relevance is defined by the fact that special textological studies of poet’s separate works, including profound examination of historiographical part of his literary heritage, are currently of special significance. Over the past decade, a sizeable corpus of new documents related to A. E. Kulakovsky’s biography, including the unpublished works and scientific writings, has been revealed; this gives a new perspective on the already familiar materials in the context of analysis of his evolution as a writer and the history of publication of his works in the XX century.
