Abstract In the article the issues of establishing and functioning of the zones with special economic activity conditions are addressed and their impact on the environment in Russia and Kazakhstan is assessed. The relevance of the subject of the research is determined, on the one hand, by a qualitative change in the role of the environmental issues in the system of values of population of the post-soviet countries and, on the other hand, by cumulative increase of the negative impact due to the irrational environmental management. Information about the types of special status zones established in these countries is systematized. The key characteristics of these institutional entities are compared, which includes goals and specifics of their development, implemented organizational mechanisms, measures for support of business activities, offered tax incentives and preferences. The authors demonstrate that the adopted accelerated economic growth strategy within the framework of zones with special status is implemented disregarding the environmental effects of their development, which poses serious threats to self-preservation of the society and environment. Common and country-specific risks of functioning of the zones with special economic activity conditions are justified. Factors contributing to inadequate assessment of the negative impact on the environment of industries, created in SEZ were revealed. It is emphasized that the current legal and regulatory framework of these zones in Russia and Kazakhstan is aimed not at the prevention of environmental threats but at the easing of requirements for entities in the field of environmental management. Finally, conclusion is made about the greening opportunities of development of the zones with special economic activity conditions, a necessity to enhance the environmental legislation and mutual “best practices” adoption opportunities in this field in Russia and Kazakhstan. The empirical basis of the analysis is constituted by the results of the studies carried out within the framework of the research work “Enhancement of the State Regulation Policy of Accelerated Clustering of the Industrial Regions” implemented on the grounds of the grant funding of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In this paper we will present the results of our survey on economic inequality, and its impact on economic growth in the Republic of Srpska. Here, we will express inequality as unequal distribution of the results and conditions of economic activity. To measure economic inequality we will use Theil's T index. Our basic assumption is  that unequal distribution of the results and conditions of economic activity, all in favor of the real sector of the economy, will lead to the real GDP growth. We find that unequal distribution of the results of the economic activity have positive impact on GDP growth, and that unequal distribution of the conditions of economic activity has negative impact on GDP growth. Our results shows that the economy of the Republic of Srpska is full of anomalies.

Relevance of the research topic. Climate change is one of the key challenges of today, which has evolved into a global undertaking on an unprecedented scale. In order to ensure that industrial growth is not accompanied by a negative impact on the environment, but rather ensures sustainable development, the world community has proposed various ideas and initiatives, such as the adoption of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (1992), the first  step towards tackling climate change;  Kyoto Protocol (1995), Paris Agreement (2016), European Green Agreement (2019) as a new growth strategy aimed at transforming the EU into more equitable and prosperous societies , with a modern cost-effective and competitive economy based on zero-level decoupling greenhouse gas emissions in 2050. Ukraine is also joining these processes by setting up an interagency group to coordinate the effects of climate change under the European Green Agreement. The primary issue is to substantiate the mechanisms for involving Ukrainian industry in the Green Agreement. Addressing these challenges is the integration of Ukrainian producers into value chains, which determines the relevance of this study. Formulation of the problem. The growing danger of catastrophic global environmental changes and other aspects of irrational policies for the natural resources using threaten the future safe development of society and the ability to meet the needs of consumers. Human economic activity is defined as an anthropogenic process that has a negative impact on natural environment. The urbanisation and agricultural development influence the environment mostly. In order to receive economic benefit to the above-mentioned activities, the landscape is changed, the soil is affected and pollutants are released into the environment. In the light of the fact that the identified processes and problems caused by them are global, the variety of international directives are designed to minimise the impact of anthropogenic activities on the environment. The territory of the Republic of Lithuania has a considerable amount of areas, where the economic activity is suspended, i.e. the land is abandoned. This is due to a variety of social, natural and economic reasons. This process can be perceived as opposite to the anthropogenic activity, however it is important to examine how it affects the environment, landscape or economic needs. These processes are relevant on the local and international level, therefore, the scientific results of this article may be useful for the professionals in various areas and further research. The research investigates the territory of abandoned agricultural land, which is to be urbanised in the future. Land cadastre data, spatial planning documents are analysed, a questionnaire-based survey is conducted, and the actual inspection in the area is carried out. The research results identify the causes for non-use of the land, and the impact of no economic activity on the environment, the landscape and the economic performance. To reach the set objectives, the data analysis, synthesis, induction methods have been used.

In modern conditions of development, financial security is an integral part of the overall security of the region and is formed on the basis of the functioning of the financial system. The complication of relationships between key segments of international financial markets, as well as the limited ability to accurately predict future trends in the development of the global financial system, lead to a gradual increase in the risks that accompany the activities of economic entities, and an increase in the number and scale of internal and external threats that have a negative impact on the financial security of the state. This formulation of the issue requires generalization of approaches to determining the financial security of the region in order to further formalize this issue and determine the key factors affecting it. The article considers the types of financial security, as well as certain areas of ensuring the financial security of the region and their priority. In work the assessment of the level of socio-economic development of the region with a view to ensuring financial security on the basis of which offers the main activities and priority areas of implementation of the investment policy that will ensure financial security of the Republic of Crimea.
