This study was conducted aimed at analyzing deviant behavior in the Hujan dan Teduh novels by Wulan Dewatra. In addition, with the existence of this study, it can be seen the forms of deviant behavior, factors that cause deviant behavior, and the effects of deviant behavior in the novel. In this study, used a type of qualitative research with descriptive methods. The findings in this study are, (1) the forms of deviant behavior in Wulan Dewatra's Hujan dan Teduh novels include, antisocial, sexual relations outside marriage, homosexuality, and violence, (2) factors that cause deviant behavior in the novel Hujan dan Teduh Wulan Dewatra's work includes unhealthy mental attitude factors, impingement of disappointment, and deviant learning processes. (3) the impact of deviant behavior in the Hujan dan Teduh novels by Wulan Dewatra covers crime and the fading of values and norms.Keywords: Disorder behaviour, Hujan dan Teduh, Sociology Literature

This study aims to identify the impact of translation techniques on translation quality in the novel “Anne of Green Gables.” It is a qualitative research-oriented translation study. The data were collected by content analysis and focus group discussion. The result of this research shows that there are seven translation techniques used to translate the metaphor of modality; they are established equivalence, modulation, deletion, paraphrase, compensation, implicitation and discursive creation. In addition, the translation techniques that contributed positively to the translation quality are established equivalence, compensation, modulation and implicitation. Meanwhile, paraphrase, deletion and discursive creation decreased the translation quality in accuracy, acceptability and readability aspects.

<p><em>ABSTRACT</em></p><p><em> </em></p><p><em>This research discusses about how a certain </em><em>technique can impact on the </em><em>quality of </em><em>translation in the statements of responding toward </em><em>arguing</em><em> speech act</em><em>. It aims to determine the impact of choosing a </em><em>certain micro </em><em>technique of translation toward the quality in terms of accuracy, acceptability, and readability. This research can be classified as a descriptive qualitative research which focuses on a single case. The source data of this research is the novel Allegiant, its translation</em><em> in Indonesian</em><em>, and the two raters. Then, the data are collected from the statement that respond</em><em>s</em><em> toward arguing. </em><em>Furthermore</em><em>, </em><em>Focus Group Discussion that has been done by two raters and the researcher is used to assess</em><em> the three aspect</em><em>s</em><em> of translation quality and determine the micro technique</em><em> that has been applied to translate the statement that responds arguing speech act</em><em>.</em><em> </em><em>The result of this research </em><em>is that</em><em> the application of</em><em> micro</em><em> technique of translation </em><em>that </em><em>is </em><em>mostly applied is established equivalent</em><em> technique that has been applied 172 data</em><em> 52,9 % that has been influenced the quality of translation because </em><em>he </em><em>total average of quality translation is 2,97 that is considered as a good translation</em><em>. In other words, </em><em>the establish equivalent </em><em>has a good impact toward quality of translation</em><em> toward statement that responds of arguing speech act</em><em>.</em></p><p><em> </em></p>

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the following things. First, the values of Islamic morality expressed in the novel by Father Hirata Andrea. Second, the motives of the characters in having Islamic morality in the novel by Father Hirata Andrea. Third, the impact of having Islamic character on the characters in Andrea Hirata's Father's novel. This research is a qualitative research with descriptive method. The data used in this study are words, groups of words, and sentences that contain Islamic moral values. This research is sourced from the novel Father by Andrea Hirata. The instrumentation in this study is the researcher as the main instrument. Then, data collection is done using observation techniques. The results of the research in the novel Andrea Hirata's Father are as follows. First, there are 61 data on Islamic moral values in Andrea Hirata's father's novel, which is divided into two, namely 43 praiseworthy moral data and 18 sad moral data. Second, there are the motives of the characters to have Islamic morals consisting of two, namely internal motives and external motives. Third, the impact of having commendable and despicable morals for the characters in Andrea Hirata's Father's novel is also divided into two, namely positive and negative impacts.  Kata kunci : Nilai, Akhlak Islam, Novel Ayah

This study aims at revealing the reflection of loyalty in Hemingway’s The Old man and the Sea. The focus of this study only on the character of Manolin, he is a learner of the old fisherman. This study is categorized as qualitative research design which is the data collected in the form of words rather than numbers. It is also used objective approach that the analysis focused only at the novel itself and the interrelationship between its internal parts of the elements. The results reveal that the character of Manolin was reflected loyalty to the old fisherman through his commitment over many challenges, his high attention to the old fisherman, and his devotion to him. It was mentioned as follows: firstly by showing his commitment over many challenges, secondly by showing high attention to Old man (Santiago), and the third showing his devotion to the old man (Santiago). The result presented here may facilitate information that Loyalty is the positive mental attitude that can be learned through the character of Manolin. It is also given to the student in English Education Department to duplicate the loyalty from Manolin because this is a positive attitude and can be used as a moral lesson.

This study aimed to: (1) describe the form of abuse; (2) describe the causes of abuse; and (3) describe the impact of abuse in Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novel by Agnes Davonar. Theories used to achieve the objectives of the research, namely: (1) the nature of the novel; (2) novel elements; (3) fiction analysis approach; (4) literature sociology studies; (5) abuse; (6) causes of abuse; and (7) the impact of abuse. This type of research is qualitative research using descriptive methods. The data in this study are sentences and direct speeches of the characters and narratives of the author that can be interpreted or interpreted as abuse. The source of the data in this study was Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novel by Agnes Davonar. The research data collection technique was carried out with the following steps: (1) reading Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novelby Agnes Davonar; (2) marking quotes in novels that correspond to the data sought; and (3) record data on abuse, causes of abuse, and the impact of abuse in Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novelby Agnes Davonar. After the data is collected, the data are analyzed with the following steps: (1) identifying data; (2) clarifying or analyzing data; and (3) make conclusions. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the indicators of abuse phenomenon contained in the novel Ayah Mengapa Aku Berbeda novel the work of Agnes Davonar include: (1) forms of abuse divided into three; verbal abuse, nonverbal abuse, and physical abuse; (2) the causes of abuse are divided into two; individual factors and social factors, and (3) the impact of abuse is divided into two; the impact on victims and the impact on the perpetratorsKeywords: Bullying, Novel, Social

This research aimed to analyze about the representation of patriarchal ideology and its impact on female characters in the novel Canting by Arswendo Atmowiloto. In addition, the presence of this study can be known forms of patriarchal ideology and its impact on female characters in the novel. This study used qualitative research with descriptive method. The findings in this study are the forms of patriarchal ideology, consists of two forms: (1) private patriarchy is as housewife and a wife (2) public patriarchy that work and activities outside the home. The current study experimentally investigates the heat transfer augmentation on the novel axial corrugated heat exchanger tube in which the spring tape is introduced. Air (Pr = 0.707) is used as a working fluid. In order to augment the thermohydraulic performance, a corrugated tube with inserts is offered. The experimental study is further extended by varying the important parameters like spring ratio (y = 1.5, 2.0, 2.5) and Reynolds number (Re = 10 000–52 000). The angular pitch between the two neighboring corrugations and the angle of the corrugation is kept constant through the experiments at β = 1200 and α = 600 respectively, while two different corrugations heights (h) are analyzed. While increasing the corrugation height and decreasing the spring ratio, the impact of the swirling effect improves the thermal performance of the system. The maximum thermal performance is obtained when the corrugation height is h = 0.2 and spring ratio y = 1.5. Eventually, correlations for predicting friction factor (f) and Nusselt number (Nu) are developed.

The Corona virus pandemic exploited by irresponsible elements.  They do a cunning business strategy, which is to hoard goods, in fiqhi terms known as iḥtikār. In the Islamic view, iḥtikār is a prohibited business practice and will be met with a painful punishment in the afterlife.  The purpose of this paper is to provide an understanding about the impact of COVID 19 on the practice of buying and selling (iḥtikār).  This paper uses qualitative research methods in the form of library reseach using the shar'i approach.  From this study it can be concluded that the behavior of hoarding goods with the aim of reselling them at high prices to obtain large profits.  In Islamic Shari'ah, iḥtikār‘s law is haram because it contains elements that harm others.  This is very clearly stated in QS al-Humazah/109: 1-2 and punished by sin as stipulated in the hadith of the Messenger of Allah.

AbstractHumans on earth need social interaction with others. Humans can use more than one language in communication. Thus, the impact that arises when the use of one or more languages is the contact between languages. One obvious form of contact between languages is interference. Interference can occur at all levels of life. As in this study, namely Indonesian Language Interference in Learning PPL Basic Thailand Unhasy Students. This study contains the form of interference that occurs in Thai students who are conducting teaching practices in the classroom. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research that seeks to describe any interference that occurs in the speech of Thai students when teaching practice. Data collection methods in this study are (1) observation techniques, (2) audio-visual recording techniques using CCTV and (3) recording techniques, by recording all data that has been obtained. Whereas the data wetness uses, (1) data triangulation, (2) improvement in perseverance and (3) peer review through discussion. Data analysis techniques in this study are (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data presentation and (4) conclusions. It can be seen that the interference that occurs includes (1) interference in phonological systems, (2) interference in morphological systems and (3) interference in syntactic systems.

This research purposes at describing the roles of semantic study precisely the roles of agent and experiencer in Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra novel written by Habiburrahman El Shirazy. The research conducted by the writer is qualitative research. The data of this study are agent and experiencer roles that the data source is taken from Pudarnya Pesona Cleopatra novel written by Habiburrahman El Shirazy published in 2003. The method that is used by the writer to collect the data is documentation with the steps: (1) figure out the sentences that contain agent and experiencer in that novel, (2) classify the types of sentences by investigating the novel. In analyzing data, the writer used Saeed’s theory of participant roles for the major theory. The result of this study shows that there are seventeen patterns that are classified into two roles. They are ten sentences of the agent and seven sentences of the experiencer.Keywords: Semantic, Participant Roles, Agent, Experiencer
