Self-control is the ability of self to control the urge to do or not do something that is desirable both in terms of acting and behaving, especially in the use of social media, self-control in the use of social media referred to in this study, namely behavioral control, cognitive control, and decision control. This study aims to describe self-control in the use of social media students of SMA Negeri 5 Padang. This research is a descriptive analysis study, with a sample of 276 students obtained using proportional stratified random sampling technique. The study used a questionnaire instrument compiled using a Likert scale model. The results of this study indicate that students of SMA Negeri 5 Padang in terms of behavior, cognitive and decision are in the high category and this certainly needs to be maintained so that students always control themselves in the use of social media so that students can focus more on learning both at home and at school .

<span class="tlid-translation translation" lang="en">As a generation that grows in the era of internet and digital advancement, millennial generation is the generation that is always connected to each other (always connected generation). The high level of use of social media in this generation has raised concerns about the consequences of problems related to the use of social media in this group. One of them they try and have a desire to continue to connect with what is being done by others through cyberspace so as to cause anxiety in themselves and lead to a fear, which is the fear of being left behind. This phenomenon is called FoMO (Fear of Missing Out). This study describes the level of FoMO inclination in Padang State University students. The sample used was 416 respondents spread throughout the faculties and the sampling was done using propotional random sampling technique. The instrument used was a closed questionnaire using a Likert scale model. The data obtained were analyzed using percentage techniques. The results of the study in general showed that the tendency of FoMO in students was in the low category at 47.59%.</span>

ABSTRACT  This research was motivated by the low self-confidence development of children aged 6-7 years in Anak Air, Batipuh Panjang Village, Padang City. It is suspected that the cause of the child's low self-confidence is partly due to the inappropriate application of parenting methods. This study aims to: 1) describe the parenting methods applied by parents to children; 2) describes the self-confidence of children aged 6-7 years; and 3) looking at the relationship between parenting methods and the self-confidence of children aged 6-7 years in Anak Air, Batipuh Panjang Village, Padang City.This research is a correlational quantitative research. The population in this study were children aged 6-7 years and their mothers as many as 50 people with a sample of 75%, namely 38 people with simple random sampling technique. The data technique used a questionnaire and a check for the observation of children's self-confidence development, the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis and formula-data-moment.The results of this study indicate: 1) the parenting methods applied by parents to children aged 6-7 years are still inaccurate and inconsistent; 2) the development of self-confidence of children aged 6-7 years is still low; and 3) there is a significant relationship between parenting methods and the development of self-confidence of children aged 6-7 years in Anak Air, Batipuh Panjang Village, Padang City. Research suggestions are: 1) it is hoped that parents in Anak Air Kelurahan Batipuh Panjang Padang City can pay attention to and apply the application of parenting methods to children so that they can contribute to the development of children's self-confidence as expected; and 2) it is hoped that further researchers can find or examine other variables that affect the development of children's self-confidence. Keywords: self-confidence, parenting methods, family education

This study aims to assess teachers’ competence in learning process.  Research used is quantitative approach designed descriptively.  The research paticipant are 76 studens determined by proportional stratified random sampling technique (class A to F). The data for teaching competency were collected using questionnaire developed by the Ministry of Education and Culture (2015), involving 28 closed-statements with Likert scale model. The questionnaire was responded on a scale of 5 to 1 (very good/very high/always up to not good/very low/never). All data is processed by descriptive analysis using SPSS 20.00 for windows. The result is that the 9 courses which are assessed formatively by the participants indicated that the teaching competence is in the very high category (69%) so that it needs to be maintained and developed continuously.

This study aims to analyze the effects of the Self-Awareness Outcomes Questionnaire (SAOQ) in building the personal branding of Brawijaya University students through social media Instagram. The research sample used a random sampling technique consisting of 283 students from various faculties. The method used in this research is descriptive quantitative. The Self-Awareness Outcomes Questionnaire (SAOQ) is divided into sub-variables reflective of self-development, acceptance, proactive at work and emotional cost. The results showed that reflective self-development, acceptance, proactive at work and emotional cost had a significant influence in building the personal branding of Brawijaya University students through social media Instagram. It can be concluded that the interest of Brawijaya University students in building personal branding through Instagram is importance by reflective self-development, acceptance, proactive at work and emotional costs.

Abstract. The number of students accessing the internet every year makes any changes that occur in adolescence which can cause certain problems in him. ideally adolescents are able to develop well, not displaying behavior that leads to negative behavior. Narcissists are very self-centered, always emphasize that they are perfect (self-congratulatory), and see their desires and hopes as important things. Self-esteem affects the use of social media in a teenager seen when publishing himself by displaying photos or videos that are considered attractive and tend to be indifferent. This study aims to examine the relationship between narcissistic behavior and self-esteem on the use of Tiktok social media. The sampling technique used is proportioned random sampling, total sample 213 with data collection using a psychological scale. The data analysis technique uses multiple linear regression by showing the results of a positive and significant relationship between narcissistic behavior and self-esteem on the use of TikTok social media with a significance result of 0.000 <0.05 and a calculated F value of 11.027> table 2.14Keywords: (Narcissists, Self-esteem, Tiktok social media)

This study aims to identify and analyze the influence of income level, financial literacy, use of social media; on the consumptive behavior of teachers. The total population in this study was 127 civil servant teachers. The sampling technique used Isaac Michael's table with an error rate of 5%, the number of samples in this study was 94 teachers. The process of taking sample data using proportional random sampling technique. Data was obtained by using questionnaires and documentation methods. The collected data was then analyzed using descriptive analysis and multiple regression analysis. The findings in this study are that there is no significant effect of the income level variable on the consumptive behavior of teachers, there is a significant influence of the financial literacy variable and the use of social media on the consumptive behavior of PNS teachers. The level of consumptive behavior is related to the financial literacy of teachers and the use of social media. So that teachers are expected to increase their level of financial literacy and reduce the intensity in using social media to minimize consumptive behavior.

The aim of this reserch is to find out how much the level of financial literacy in Universitas Putera Batam students and to find out whether or not the influence of the level of financial literacy and promotion strategies through social media to the interest of using technology financial products. The type of this research is a quantitative research using probability random sampling technique, the respondents are the students of accounting, management, others study program. The data collection in this study used a questionnaire method with a Likert scale model and distributed to 100 respondents. In this study the data analysis that used is descriptive analysis, simple regression analysis and multiple regression analysis using SPSS 22.0.The results of this study showed that (1) the level of financial literacy in the fourth student of the study program belongs to the category of sufficient literate or is still fairly categorized with a percentage of 81.12 percent. (2) There is a positive and significant influence between financial literacy variables on the interest in using technology financial products. (3) There is a positive and significant influence between the variables of promotional strategies through social media on the interest in using technology financial products. (4) There is a positive and significant influence between financial literacy variables and promotion strategies through social media on the interest in using technology financial products. This illustrates that the interest of students of Universitas Putera Batam to use financial technology products is very satisfying category. The purpose of this research is determine the relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior in students of class XI Sman10 Padang. The independent variables in this study are self-control and the dependent variable is consumptive behavior. The measuring instruments used in this study are the self-control scale and the consumptive behavior scale. The sampling technique in this study used a stratified random sampling technique. The sample in this study were 72 second grade students of SMAN 10 Padang. The validity and reliability test in this study used the product moment technique and Cronbach's Alpha. The value of the power difference index value of the self-control scale moved from rix=0,133  to rix=0,729. Based on data analysis, the correlation coefficient between self-control variables and consumptive behavior is obtained by r = 0.389 with a significance level of p = 0.004, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between self-control and consumptive behavior  student of SMA 10 Padang. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara kontrol diri dengan perilaku konsumtif pada siswa kelas XI SMAN10 padang.Variabel bebas dalam penelitian ini adalah kontrol diri dan variabel terikat adalah perilaku konsumtif. Alat ukur yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah skala kontrol diri dan skala perilaku konsumtif. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 72 siswa kelas dua SMAN 10 Padang. Uji validitas dan reliabilitas pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik product momentdan Alpha Cronbach.Diperoleh nilai indeks daya beda item skala kontrol diri bergerak dari rix=0,133 sampai dengan rix=0,729. Berdasarkan analisis data, maka diperoleh koefisien korelasi antara variabel kontrol diri dengan perilaku konsumtif sebesarr=0,389 dengan taraf signifikansi p=0,004, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan yang signifikan antara kontrol diri dengan perilaku konsumtif pada siswa SMA 10 Padang.

This study aims to determine and analyze 1) the effect of financial literacy on the consumptive behavior of students of the Economics Faculty of Padang State University 2) the effect of self-control on the consumptive behavior of students of the Economics Faculty of Padang State University, and 3) the effect of financial literacy on self-control. This type of research is an inferential descriptive study. The sampling technique used in this study was proportional random sampling technique with a sample of 86 students. The data analysis technique used in this research is descriptive analysis and path analysis. The results showed that (1) financial literacy has a significant effect on the consumptive behavior of students of the Economics Faculty of Padang State University, (2) Self-control has a significant effect on the consumptive behavior of students in the Economics Faculty of Padang State University, and (3) Financial literacy has a significant effect on self-control of students in the Economics Faculty of State University field.Abstrak ditulis salam bahasa inggris, menggunakan jenis huruf Palatino Linotype 10 pt spasi satu,  Max 200 kata.Keywords : financial literacy, self-control, consumptive behavior

Abstract. The development of information technology has increased, one of which is by utilizing social media. In general, social media is used to make friends and connect with relatives in parts of the world. But now social media is used as a medium to get information in the field of sports. Instagram is a platform that is currently widely used by the public to get information, especially in sports and football clubs. One of these factors made Simamaung use Instagram as information media. Simamaung is a fan site and information media that reports about the Persib Bandung football club. In addition to reporting information about the development of Persib Bandung, Simamaung has a difference with other Persib bandung information media by providing information about the statistics of players, coaches and clubs. This study aims to determine the relationship between the use of Instagram social media Simamaung with the fulfillment of followers' information needs about Persib Bandung. The method used is a quantitative correlational method with descriptive analysis and inferential analysis techniques. The study population is followers of Instagram Simamaung (@simamaungcom) with a total sample of 100 samples. The technique used to take samples is the Simple Random Sampling technique. The theory used is the theory of Uses and Gratifications. The results showed that there was a significant and moderate relationship between the use of Instagram social media Simamaung with the fulfillment of followers' information needs about Persib Bandung.   Abstrak. Perkembangan teknologi informasi semakin mengalami peningkatan, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan media sosial. Pada umunya, media sosial digunakan untuk mencari teman dan menguhubungkan dengan kerabat di belahan dunia. Namun saat ini media sosial dimanfaatkan sebagai media untuk mendapat informasi di bidang olahraga. Instagram adalah sebuah platform yang saat ini banyak digunakan oleh khalayak untuk mendapat informasi terutama dalam bidang olahraga dan klub sepakbola. Salah satu faktor tersebut membuat Simamaung menggunakan Instagram sebagai media informasi. Simamaung merupakan sebuah fan site dan media informasi yang memberitakan seputar klub sepakbola Persib Bandung. Selain memberitakan informasi seputar perkembangan Persib Bandung, Simamaung mempunyai perbedaan dengan media informasi Persib bandung lainnya dengan memberikan informasi seputar statistik pemain, pelatih dan klub. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara penggunaan media sosial Instagram Simamaung dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi followers mengenai Persib Bandung. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode korelasional kuantitatif dengan teknik analisis deskriptif dan analisis inferensial. Populasi penelitian merupakan followers dari Instagram Simamaung (@simamaungcom) dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 100 sampel. Teknik yang digunakan untuk mengambil sampel yakni teknik Simple Random Sampling. Teori yang digunakan adalah teori Uses and Gratifications. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan dan sedang antara penggunaan media sosial Instagram Simamaung dengan pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi followers mengenai Persib Bandung.
