Demand elasticity and supply elasticity are one of the competencies that must be mastered by the first year students of IPS and cross-interest in the field of economic study of SMA that use 13rd curriculummwhich is still too difficult to learn. Generally the value obtained in this material is still quite sufficient, although many of them are above the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM). Based on these facts, the authors are interested to analyze how to improve the learning outcomes of the first year students by using Smart Teaching approach in learning process. This activity uses Classroom Action Assessment (well known as PenelitianTindakanKelas) method with two activity cycles, the first cycle is before the use of Smart Teaching Approach, and the second cycle is using Smart Teaching Approach which was held in November 2017.The research tool is student questionnaire, formative test, and observation notes. The use of Smart Teaching approach in learning process has increased the student learning outcomes significantly because of the completion of the questions in a very fast and precise way, so it can be concluded that the use of this method is very effective to improve the learning outcomes and student achievement in economic subjects, especially elasticity.

Improving student learning outcomes can be known through examination or evaluation of student learning outcomes, as well as to improve the quality of education at a particular Islamic Junior Secondary School (MTs) Ali Maksum that can be seen through the entrance test the institution itself. Entrance test could be determine the quality of student learning outcomes, therefore it is very important be re-examined or entrance test kits that is used to determine the graduation of new students. Entrance tests can also determine the outcome of the first year students in the first and second semester. In this case retesting can be done by looking at the results of the entrance test, the results of the 1st semester final exam, and the results of the final exams 2 that is analyzed using multiple regression. This analysis is used to predict the results of the entrance test and see how much influence the results of the 1st semester final exams and final exams 2. From the discussion, it is a result of its high predictive significance between entrance exams, final exams 1, 2 and semester exams in the first year in MTs Ali Maksum.

Keywords : Entrance test, predictabilities, validity

This article presents evidence supporting the claim that ethical reasoning is a skill that can be taught and assessed. We propose a working definition of ethical reasoning as 1) the ability to identify, analyze, and weigh moral aspects of a particular situation, and 2) to make decisions that are informed and warranted by the moral investigation. The evidence consists of a description of an ethical reasoning education program—Ethical Reasoning in Action (ERiA)—designed to increase ethical reasoning skills in a variety of situations and areas of life. ERiA is housed at a public, major comprehensive U.S. university—James Madison University—and assessment of the program focuses on interventions delivered prior to and during orientation for incoming first-year students. Findings indicate that the interventions measurably enhance the ability of undergraduate students to reason ethically. ERiA’s competency-targeted program and positive student learning outcomes offers a promising model for higher education ethics programs seeking to connect classroom learning in ethics to decision-making in everyday life.

The purpose of this paper is to describe the Problem Posing learning model with Task and Forced Strategy. As for the background of this writing is because of difficulties in understanding the material and also lack of enthusiasm of students in learning the material so that the impact on student learning outcomes is still low. The low student learning outcomes are, of course, many factors, one of which is the problem of applying a learning model that is still teacher-centered, so students tend to be passive. For this reason, the teacher can use the Problem Posing learning model that is modified by the task and force strategy (Task and Forced). Problem Posing learning model is a learning model that requires students to develop their systematic reasoning skills in making questions and answering questions. While the task and force strategy (Task and Forced) is a learning strategy that has little effect on students to complete the task until it is completed and on time to avoid the punishment given by the teacher as a consequence. So that students will be motivated in listening, understanding the material delivered and doing assignments on time. By combining this model and strategy can be a solution so that the learning process becomes quality.
