The model of organic rice production in the Mekong Delta, which started from 2015 until now (2020), has had good results. Organic agriculture still faces many difficulties and challenges at the beginning but many of them have been solved out. First of all, that is the success of organic rice production in the shrimp-rice area with the potential of hundreds of thousands of hectares. Then, the replication of organic rice production in the intensive practice areas and the replication of organic production for other crops have high economic value. The SWOT research and analysis showed that the development of organic agriculture still has many weaknesses and threats compared to strengths and opportunities. The biggest weaknesses and threats are the difficulties in changing social awareness and in changing farming practices of farmers. Farmers who are accustomed to traditional production which highly application of chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides, it is not easy work to change their traditional practices to organic practices. At the same time, there are some cases that farmers are dishonest, they do not follow the process or arbitrarily apply forbidden chemical inputs leading to failure of the model which affects the whole project and harms the invested businesses. The next challenge is weed management in organic rice production, especially in intensive rice cultivation areas in which paddy grows 2-3 crops for a year. That is because in organic production no chemical herbicides are allowed. Weaknesses and threats lead to many risks, making businesses and stakeholders afraid to invest in organic production. For strengths and opportunities, the Vietnam government has made new policies to encourage the development of organic agriculture for the Mekong Delta and the whole country. Besides that, due to the demand for organic products, organic product consumption becomes a hot trend in the world and the country now a day, opening up a great opportunity for the production and trading of organic products. To overcome weaknesses and threats to take advantage of opportunities for organic agriculture, the authors have proposed recommendations to create solutions for organic agriculture in Mekong Delta to develop.

Наряду с традиционными приемами ведения сельского хозяйства во многих странах развивается альтернативное земледелие, основанное на строгом соблюдении научных рекомендаций и требований по эксплуатации почвенных ресурсов с целью их сохранения при длительном использовании. Одно из таких направлений – органическое земледелие, успешно развивающееся в странах ЕС и США последние 30 лет. Оно предполагает создание высококультурной, экологически сбалансированной агроэкосистемы, критериями функционирования которой является устойчивость агроландшафта на фоне продуктивного долголетия всех составляющих его компонентов (почва, растения, животный мир). Устойчивость таких агроценозов обеспечивается путем минимизации негативного влияния на агроэкосистему (отказ от применения пестицидов и других средств защиты растений, химических удобрений, ГМО, ионизирующего излучения) и внедрения экологически обоснованной системы земледелия при обязательном контроле за состоянием всего агробиоценоза в системе эколого-мелиоративного и агроэкологического мониторинга. Научно-исследовательская деятельность и биологическая защита в органическом сельском хозяйстве должны отвечать основным задачам реального сектора. Ученым, вовлеченным в данное направление, важно взаимодействовать с сертифицированными органическими производителями, профильными союзами, понимать как частные задачи конкретных хозяйств, так и общерыночные тенденции, требования сертифицирующих органов, знать основные стандарты органического сельского хозяйства. В обзоре рассмотрены тенденции развития рынка органической продукции в России и в мире. Показана прямая взаимосвязь между государственной поддержкой экологизации земледелия и ростом рынка органической продукции. Представлены данные социологических опросов с целью выявления количественных и качественных показателей развития рынка органического сельского хозяйства и биологизации земледелия в Российской Федерации. Подчеркнута роль биологической защиты растений как ключевого элемента обеспечения стабильного органического производства, что потребует активного и целенаправленного внедрения научных методов поддержания плодородия почв и механизмов естественной биоценотической регуляции агроэкосистем, разработанных российскими учеными.In addition to traditional farming practices, many countries are developing alternative agriculture based on strict compliance with scientific recommendations and requirements for the exploitation of soil resources in order to preserve them during long-term use. One of these areas is organic farming, which successfully developing in the EU and the US for the last 30 years. It includes creation of a highly cultured, ecologically balanced agroecosystem, which has stability of agrocenosis with productive longevity of all its components (soil, plants, wildlife). The sustainability of such agrocenoses is ensured by minimizing the negative impact on the agroecosystem (refusal to use pesticides and other plant protection products, chemical fertilizers, GMOs, ionizing radiation) and the introduction of environmentally sound farming system with mandatory control over the state of the entire agrobiocenosis in the system of ecological-meliorative and agroecological monitoring. Research and biological protection in organic agriculture must meet the basic objectives of the real sector. Scientists involved in this area, it is important to interact with certified organic producers, specialized unions, to understand both the private tasks of specific farms and General market trends, the requirements of certification bodies, to know the basic standards of organic agriculture. The review examines the trends in the development of organic products market in Russia and in the world. The direct relationship between the state support for the greening of agriculture and the growth of the market of organic products is shown. The article presents the data of sociological surveys to identify quantitative and qualitative indicators of the market of organic agriculture and biologization of agriculture in the Russian Federation. The role of biological plant protection as a key element of ensuring stable organic production is emphasized, which will require the active and purposeful introduction of scientific methods for maintaining soil fertility and mechanisms of natural biocenotic regulation of agroecosystems developed by Russian scientists.

The aim of this paper is to analyse the current situation and potential for the development of organic agriculture in Serbia. Despite the favourable agri-ecological conditions for the development of organic agriculture, this branch of agriculture in Serbia significantly lags behind the world and European average in terms of the percentage of agricultural land under organic production. The motive for the conducted analysis within this paper stems from the fact that the demand for organic products in the EU has been increasing at a rate of about 10% annually in recent years, which represents a chance for Serbian agriculture. Data sources used are from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia (MAFWM), Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (SORS) and Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FIBL) while the basic research method is interview with experts and participants in organic agriculture. The results of the analysis show that the main limiting factors for the development of Serbian organic agriculture are dominance of small and economically weak producers and insufficient consumer confidence in organic products. The path to the development of organic agriculture is in the increased cooperatives activity and the improvement of consumer confidence in organic products.

Abstract Organic agriculture ensures a balanced state of the ecosystem, which is the key to sustainable development of the economic and social spheres of society. European countries are in the process of historical development reached an understanding on the need for its further ecological progress. That is why the world market for organic products has formed. Studies show that the development of organic production began in the 20‘s of the twentieth century. Since then, markets for organic products began to grow rapidly in many countries. Among the world‘s regions, the largest areas of organic land are located in Oceania and Europe. The article is devoted to the study of foreign experience in the development of ecological agriculture. The variety of names of ecological systems of management in the countries of the world and the principles which are included in the concept “ecological agriculture“ are studied. The history of the emergence of organic agriculture has been explored. The analysis of the development of organic agricultural production at the world level, the countries of Europe and the European Union (EU) and individual countries has been analyzed. A grouping of organic farms in Europe has been organized in terms of size. Ukraine, with its significant natural and economic potential in the future may also be one of the important subjects that will form a proposal in this market. The environmental policy of the country has an important influence on the efficiency of organic farms.

Farmers view weeds as the number one barrier to organic rice production. Also, organic rice-growing farmers feel weed management is their number one priority, so they need more research about weed management under organic conditions from the researchers. Weeds can be considered a significant problem because they have a tendency to decrease crop yields by increasing competition for moisture, sunlight and nutrients also serving as host plants for pests and diseases. Since the development of herbicides, farmers have been used these chemicals to eradicate weeds from their fields. Using herbicides not only increased crop yields as well as reduced the labour required to remove weeds. Today, some farmers have a renewed interest in organic methods of managing weeds since the widespread use of agrochemicals has affected the environment and health. It has also been found that in some cases herbicides use can cause some weed species to dominate fields because the weeds develop resistance to herbicides. Moreover, some herbicides are destroying weeds that are harmless to crops, resulting in a potential decrease biodiversity. It is important to understand that under an organic system of seed control, weeds will never be eliminated but only managed. Consistent methods of weed management can reduce the costs and contribute to economical crop production without endangers the environment.

Organic products nowadays are very potential to be developed because of the increasing demand from consumers around the world on safe food which are free from agrochemicals, such as fertilizers and chemical. Demand for organic products mainly comes from countries in the western of Europe, in the northern America, in the East Asia. Besides promoting health for human and the environment, organic farming can also increase income for farmers due to the higher price of organic products compared to ordinary agricultural products. The growing market share of organic products in the world is a great opportunity for agricultural producers to shift its agriculture from conventional to organic systems. This article is written based on the PSDR-LIPI research about sustainable agriculture in Vietnam in 2013, coupled with current news on Vietnam's organic farming today. The research result shows that the opportunity to reach a large organic market has not been caught by the agricultural producer countries, such as Vietnam. Until now, organic agriculture in Vietnam has not developed rapidly, although it has spread in some provinces. The slow growth of organic agriculture is as the consequence of several things, such as the orientation of agricultural development which emphasize more on quantity and not quality, lack of legal framework, and complicated and high investment costs for developing organic farming.Keywords:organic farming, organic market, legal framework, high investment, agriculture AbstrakProduk-produk organik saat ini sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan karena semakin besarnya minat konsumen dunia akan produk makanan yang bebas dari penggunaan bahan-bahan kimia, seperti pupuk dan pestisida kimia, sehingga aman untuk dikonsumsi.  Permintaan produk-produk organik terutama datang dari negara-negara Eropa Barat, Amerika Utara, serta Asia Timur.  Berbagai keuntungan yang bisa didapatkan dari pertanian organik adalah peningkatan kesehatan tubuh, kesehatan ekosistem (tanah, air, hewan, dan tumbuhan), serta peningkatan penghasilan bagi para petani karena harga produk organik yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan produk-produk pertanian pada umumnya. Semakin besarnya pangsa pasar produk organik di dunia merupakan kesempatan besar bagi para produsen pertanian untuk beralih dari sistem konvensional ke sistem organik. Artikel ini ditulis berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh penulis bersama dengan tim peneliti PSDR-LIPI lainnya tentang pertanian berkelanjutan di Vietnam pada tahun 2013, dan ditambah dengan berita-berita terkini tentang pertanian organik Vietnam. Hasil penelitian dan penelusuran menunjukkan bahwa kesempatan untuk meraih pasar organik yang besar belum banyak ditangkap oleh negara-negara produsen dan pengekspor hasil pertanian, misalnya Vietnam. Hingga saat ini, pertanian organik di Vietnam belum berkembang pesat, walaupun keberadaannya telah tersebar di beberapa daerah. Lambatnya perkembangan pertanian organik ini disebabkan oleh beberapa hal, di antaranya pembangunan pertanian yang masih berorientasi pada masalah kuantitas dan bukan kualitas, belum ada tuntutan yang besar dari pasar domestik untuk masalah keamanan pangan, dan besarnya biaya investasi untuk sebuah pertanian organik.Kata kunci: pertanian organik, pasar produk organik, kerangka hukum, investasi besar, dan pertanian

The market of organic agricultural products in Russia and in the world is analyzed. The main factors (macro-, meso - and micro-levels) affecting the production of organic products are highlighted. The conditions of growth in demand for organic products are analyzed. The potential for the development of organic agriculture, consisting of agricultural, environmental, market and management types of potential, and indicators for assessing this potential, are identified. The potential of organic agriculture development in the Saratov region is evaluated. Measures of state support for organic production in the regions of the Russian Federation and in the Saratov region and the degree of demand for certain measures are analyzed.


Significance The organic production system is based on a set of cultivation and production practices that prioritise sustainability throughout the supply chain while guaranteeing fair working conditions. To ensure that organic food reaches the largest number of consumers and is financially attractive to industries, increased attention is being paid to certification of organic products. Impacts A decline in artificial and chemical inputs by the agrarian economy would help reduce the sector’s sizeable carbon footprint. Wealthier consumers will switch to organic foods as the COVID-19 pandemic increases their focus on health and immunity. Government subsidies for supporting the cost of certification are especially useful to small farmers. Digital technologies for agriculture such as product labelling will remove some of the barriers to increasing organic consumption.

Organic agriculture approach started with coming up the adverse effect’s of chemical and genetic inputs on human health and natural environment in time, it has been also continued by raising the importance nowadays. Organic agriculture production amount of Turkey was 331.361 tons in 191.785 ha areas, although it was reached up to 1.627.106 tons (391% increased) in 379.042 ha (98% increased) areas. Black sea region has nearly 18.000 ha area (4.7%) of organic agriculture areas of Turkey. The region has organic agriculture potential with regard to regional land structure and qualification of produced products. In 2010, organic agriculture production was 31.960 tons in 88.322 ha areas, although it was 119.425 tons (274% increased) in 18.061 ha (80% decreased) areas in 2016. In recent years, Rize (57%), Tokat (14.6%), Ordu (7.5%), Gümüşhane (4.9%) and Samsun (3.8%) are leading provinces in the region in terms of organic production quantities. Tea (67.927 tons: 57.7%), hazelnut (11.785 tons: 9.9%), apple (11.253 tons: 9.4%), pear (5.207 tons: 4.4%), maize (4.705 tons: 3.9%) and alfalfa (4.301 tons: 3.6%) are major organic products of Black Sea region. At present study, current situation of organic plant production and potential in the Black Sea region were presented.
