The Information SuperHighway, Email, The Internet, FTP, BBS, Modems, : all buzz words which are becoming more and more routine in our daily life. Confusing terminology? Hopefully it won't be in a few minutes, all you need is to have a handle on a few basic concepts and terms and you will be on-line with the rest of the "telecommunication experts". These terms all refer to some type or aspect of tools associated with a range of computer-based communication software and hardware. They are in fact far less complex than the instruments we use on a day to day basis as microscopist's and microanalyst's. The key is for each of us to know what each is and how to make use of the wealth of information which they can make available to us for the asking. Basically all of these items relate to mechanisms and protocols by which we as scientists can easily exchange information rapidly and efficiently to colleagues in the office down the hall, or half-way around the world using computers and various communications media. The purpose of this tutorial/paper is to outline and demonstrate the basic ideas of some of the major information systems available to all of us today. For the sake of simplicity we will break this presentation down into two distinct (but as we shall see later connected) areas: telecommunications over conventional phone lines, and telecommunications by computer networks. Live tutorial/demonstrations of both procedures will be presented in the Computer Workshop/Software Exchange during the course of the meeting.

O avanço das tecnologias nas tarefas cotidianas tem exigido da sociedade uma série de habilidades para lidar, principalmente, com ferramentas digitais. Dentre elas, talvez a mais significativa, por ser transversal a inúmeras outras ações, seja a leitura on-line. Não por acaso, pesquisadores nacionais e internacionais têm se debruçado sobre a temática inerente ao ambiente virtual, propósito, também, desta pesquisa, que objetivou identificar as principais dificuldades relacionadas à leitura hipertextual encontradas por um grupo de alunos de um curso a distância. Por meio de uma abordagem qualitativa, aplicou-se um questionário estruturado, composto por cincoperguntas e enviado por e-mail a trinta alunos, abordando questões referentes a leituras realizadas no computador, em se tratando do contexto hipertextual. O curso em estudo, Gestão Pública Municipal (GPM) é destinado, em especial, a profissionais que exercem atividades em órgãos públicos, atraindo um número significativo de servidores que precisam inserir-se no mundo digital. O mapeamento das impressões leitoras apresentadas pelos colaboradores permitiu identificar que, apesar de não sesentirem tão confortáveis no processo de leitura virtual, reconhecem a importância de superar os desafios impostos pelo hipertexto digital.

The Charity Commission for England and Wales published an updated list of the questions to be included in the 2018 Annual Return for registered charities. The trustees of charities excepted from registration with the Commission – which include a considerable number of church congregations – are not required to submit an annual return; but an increasing number find that they must do so because when an excepted charity's annual income exceeds £100,000 it loses its excepted status. The previously expressed intention to require every charity trustee to provide an e-mail address has been abandoned; instead, the Commission intends to ask all trustees either to supply an e-mail address or to confirm that they do not have one – which looks very like a welcome climbdown. The Commission's on-line Annual Return Service opened for submissions on 20 August.

O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar o mapeamento de Institutos, Cátedras, Grupos de pesquisas, com aportes freireanos, na América Latina e nos Estados Unidos, visando identificar que atividades acadêmicas realizam e como se constituem em legado da educação de Paulo Freire. Este estudo é recorte de uma pesquisa empírica, de abordagem qualitativa, sobre a presença de Paulo Freire no contexto educacional da América Latina e nos Estados Unidos, concluída, em 2016, e financiada pelo CNPq. Para este artigo, alguns dados foram atualizados em 2017.Os procedimentos utilizados na pesquisa foram: revisão bibliográfica, pesquisas on-line, visita a universidades via website, contactos via e-mail e entrevista aberta com professores freireanos, participação em eventos, com registro sobre as Cátedras Paulo Freire. Na sistematização dos dados, foram utilizados: quadros com o uso da tabela excel e, para a análise, foram criadas categorias temáticas.

E-mail-based conversations between thousands of people-very large-scale conversations (VLSCs)-now take place in a variety of on-line public spaces such as Usenet newsgroups and large listservs. This article describes the author's prototype Conversation Map system, which can automatically analyze and graphically summarize thousands of e-mail messages exchanged in VLSCs. Example conversation maps of nine VLSCs are presented. Finally, the sociolinguistic analysis performed by the Conversation Map is discussed as a form of artificial dialectics, and the graphical summaries produced by the system are considered as potential common ground between participants in a VLSC.

IntroductionIn order to promote the harmonisation of training in psychiatry and facilitate mobility of psychiatrists across Europe, the European Board of Psychiatry is developing appropriate training recommendations. In a recently conducted European survey, Greece was partly under-represented and there is lack of recent data regarding national psychiatric training.ObjectivesThe present survey aimed to investigate, from a trainee's point of view, the degree of compliance of Greek training centres to what the European Board of Psychiatry recommends.MethodsAn on-line survey, accessible only to invited trainees, was constructed in close adherence to previous questionnaires and guidelines set by the European Board of Psychiatry. Training centres in psychiatry were identified and trainees were invited by e-mail to complete the survey in autumn 2010. All responses were tracked and only valid completed questionnaires were included in the final results.ResultsPreliminary results from the first quarter of the sample clearly indicate that the overwhelming majority of Greek psychiatric trainees do not have individualized training programs (88%) and logbooks (99%). There is no auditing experience (90%) and no exposure to internal (90%) or external (93%) evaluation. On the other hand, structured theoretical training is available to the majority of trainees (94%) although psychotherapeutic supervision is offered to only 25% of trainees.ConclusionsMuch improvement had been observed over the last decade in psychiatric training in Greece. However, results of the present survey show that there is still inadequate compliance to some of the recommendations developed by the European Board of Psychiatry.

E-mail: [email protected]     1 ABSTRACT   The localized irrigation systems are most suitable to fertigation uses, when compared to sprinkle, but are affected by the clogging of drip emitters, influencing the uniformity of the irrigation system. This study aims to analyze the susceptibility of on-line drippers under fertigation with single superphosphate to the clogging. This study was done at the Irrigation Laboratory of UNIVASF, Juazeiro-BA campus, Brazil. Two on-line non-pressure compensating drippers with different flow rates were used, both with the same operating pressure (150 kPa). The parameters analyzed were mean flow, relative flow rate, standard deviation, coefficient of flow rate variation, the CUC, DU, SUC and HUC, and clogging degree. Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar a susceptibilidade ao entupimento de gotejadores tipo online sob fertirrigação com superfosfato simples. Esse trabalho foi realizado no Laboratório de Irrigação da UNIVASF, campus Juazeiro- BA. Foram utilizados dois emissores do tipo gotejadores online não autocompensantes com diferentes vazões, ambos com a mesma pressão de serviço (150 kPa). Avaliou- se os parâmetros vazão média, vazão relativa, desvio padrão, coeficiente de variação de vazão, os coeficientes CUC, CUD, CUE e CUH e grau de entupimento. Os resultados demonstram que a concentração utilizada de superfosfato simples não apresentou riscos de obstrução dos emissores durante o tempo de funcionamento do sistema.   Palavras chave: irrigação localizada, gotejadores não compensados, eficiência de aplicação

Dalam transaksi online, konsumen tidak memiliki kontak langsung dengan pedagang dan tidak bisa dengan mudah memverifikasi kualitas barang, sehingga menciptakan situasi di mana para pelaku transaki tidak pada kekuatan tawar yang sama. Oleh karena itu, penerapan khiyar akan membantu dalam melindungi hak-hak konsumen di dunia maya. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk menganalisis jenis khiyar dan aplikasinya terhadap bisnis online yang sedang menjamur di Indonesia serta membandingkannya terhadap lazada, zalora dan blibli. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa khiyar aib diaplikasikan oleh ketiga situs tersebut, sedangkan khiyar ru’yah hanya diaplikasikan oleh lazada. Metodologi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif yang bersumber pada rujukan-rujukan yang sesuai dengan melakukan pendekatan komparatif kepada ketiga situs tersebut.Kata Kunci: Jual beli, Khiyar, Bisnis On-line
