SUMMARY The rehabilitation of an unesthetic smile in the anterior maxilla is always a clinical challenge, especially when an improper shape and size, old restorations, and unesthetic shading are present. In addition, an irregular gingival zenith contour in the anterior maxilla can affect the smile's harmony. Thus, detailed treatment planning is needed to define a functional and esthetic prosthetic rehabilitation. This study describes a clinical case in which a 55-year-old woman was rehabilitated using Digital Smile Design planning and full ceramic crowns (metal free) in the anterior zone of the maxilla and mandible. To normalize the gingival zenith, a dynamic compression technique was performed using provisional restorations to condition the gingival tissues and harmonize the proportional length of the anterior upper teeth.

In recent years, patients’ expectations are becoming higher in terms of esthetic dentistry. Having the ideal smile is becoming a purpose as the appearance of stars and famous persons have been undoubtedly improved through smile correction. Peg-shaped lateral incisors are a common dental form aberration which could distort the smile and may hamper patient psychology because of the smaller shape and size in disharmony with other teeth. Three-quarter ceramic veneers are a mini-invasive approach which could solve the esthetic problem of peg-shaped teeth and ensure patient’s satisfaction. The present paper was about a clinical case with peg-shaped lateral incisors treated with three-quarter ceramic crowns. It would also highlight the preparation particularities.

AbstractThe patient with complete edentulous maxillary arch and partially edentulous mandibular arch poses certain complication in the form of syndrome which was described by Kelly in 1972. There is flabby tissue in the anterior maxilla and posterior occlusal plane slope-down. There is supraeruption of lower anterior teeth, fibrous growth of tuberosity area, resorption of bone in the posterior mandibular ridges, and loss of vertical dimension of occlusion. The treatment varies from patient to patient to develop this syndrome and also varies from condition of the remaining teeth. Best treatment option is to use dental implants, but conventional prostheses are used in complex cases. This clinical report presents the prosthetic rehabilitation of a patient exhibiting combination syndrome.

ABSTRACT Scope of work The purpose of this work is the analysis and comparison of the various methods available for the realization of fixed restorations on natural teeth in the anterior sector with the presentation of some case report series. Materials and methods The methods used in relation to the clinical case, are the metal-ceramic, the galvan-ceramic, all- ceramic and porcelain veneers. Results It highlights indications and limitations of each of the methods proposed, emphasizing the prominent role of esthetics in the rehabilitation sector of the front. Conclusion The materials and techniques available, with proper clinical evaluation and to a timely therapeutic planning, are the basis of the rehabilitative ideal choice for each individual case, and they also depend on the achievement of clinical success. Thalassemia is a single gene inherited blood disease. Beta thalassemia major is life threating. It causes abnormality in various organs and oral-facial region. Thalassemia patients are immune-deficient because of iron-overload. Immune system abnormality includes neutrophilic dysfunction and impairment of phagocytosis by the monocyte-macrophage system. Iron accumulation also affects periodontal tissues, which seems to increase the level of cytokines and thus have an enhancing effect on gingival inflammation. This article highlights a peculiar case of gingival enlargement in anterior maxilla and mandible. The patient was known case of a beta-thalassemia major. Blood investigation revealed a lower level of hemoglobin. The patient underwent non-surgical periodontal therapy. Proper periodontal care improves the quality of life in these patients. This case report reinforces the significance of proper history taking with all minor details and the role of patient education in phase I therapy

SUMMARY Dental ceramics make it possible to restore anterior teeth that have been esthetically compromised, presenting a high resistance to wear, biocompatibility, color stability, and low thermal conductivity. The development of different types of ceramic and techniques for adhesive cementation have made it possible to produce more conservative restorations without involving the healthy dental structure and with minimally invasive preparation, such as the bonding of ceramic fragments. The purpose of this article is to describe a clinical case in which diastemas were closed by using nanofluorapatite ceramic (e.max Ceram, Ivoclar-Vivadent) fragments on teeth 7 and 10 with minimal tooth preparation and metal-free ceramic crowns (e-max Ceram) reinforced with zirconia copings through a computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing system (Lava, 3M-ESPE) on teeth 8 and 9.

In the past, aesthetics had a secondary role in implant rehabilitation. Nowadays, the search for a perfect and harmonious aesthetic has stimulated the development of new materials and techniques. Due to this aesthetic requirement, the hybrid abutment (titanium link + zirconia) emerged as an alternative to metallic pillars. The hybrid abutment made a more favorable aesthetic possible, provided reliable mechanical properties, and increased biocompatibility to the surrounding tissues. Additionally, the individual zirconia abutment improves the emergency profile and the final white aesthetics. The objective of this paper is to report a clinical case with a manufactured individualized hybrid abutment for a metal-free indirect restoration, showing the applicability, mechanical properties, and biocompatibility of the hybrid abutment.
