ResumenEl presente trabajo analiza el teatro desde una perspectiva social, con base en el desarrollo teórico de Antonio Gramsci, a fin de reconocer dicho acto escénico como parte de los mecanismos que propician la instauración o la transformación de las ideologí­as dominantes del contexto donde se suceden.Se analizan los elementos centrales que constituyen el acto escénico teatral y se articulan con los postulados teóricos sobre ideologí­a, praxis y hegemoní­a. Asimismo, se busca también, como medio de aterrizaje histórico, utilizar dos casos dentro de la historia del teatro mexicano: el teatro evangelizador colonial y el Teatro Conasupo1, de Orientación Campesina de principios del siglo XX.Palabras clave: Teatro, transformación ideológica, Gramsci, Teatro mexicano. AbstractThe next work analyzes theater from a social perspective, based on Antonio Gramsci’s theoretical development, in order to recognize said stage act as part of the mechanisms that propitiate the instauration or transformation of the dominant ideologies of the context where they happen. The central elements that constitute the theatrical stage act are analyzed and articulated with the theoretical postulates on ideology, praxis and hegemony. It is also looking, as a mean of historical landing, to utilize two cases within the history of Mexican theater: The colonial evangelist theater, and CONASUPO theater of Rural Orientation from the beginning of the 20th Century.Keywords: Theater, ideological transformation, Gramsci, mexican theater.

En el relato de la historia de la escenografía en México hace falta incluir a las mujeres; es una deuda pendiente. La memoria institucionalizada, en tanto política heteropatriarcal, las ha invisibilizado por medio del silencio que guardan las fuentes sobre su trabajo y por omisión en el relato histórico del teatro mexicano del siglo xx. Este trabajo es un apunte sobre la manera en que se ha construido esa memoria y acerca de la necesidad de hacer visible lo invisible.The (In)visibility of Mexican Women Stage Designers (1950-1990)AbstractThe inclusion of women in the history of stage and set design in Mexico is long overdue. The institutionalized memory, with its hetero-patriarchal politics, has rendered women stage designers invisible. They are largely ignored in diverse documentary sources, as in the historical account of twentieth century Mexican theater.
