This study focuses on the strategic value of information technologies in the service industry and examines the relationship between information technology (IT) service competence and firm performance. The proposed relationship is further augmented by investigating the mediating role of operation-level dynamic capability particularly for the service setting. Survey data of medium to large-size enterprises in service industries in the United States were used to validate the proposed model. The results indicate that operational reconfigurability as an operation-level dynamic capability is a significant IT-enabled mediating driving force of firm performance in the service setting. This study is an early attempt to examine the strategic value of information technologies to lead to service firms business performance, particularly through the dynamic capability at the operation level.

Настоящий том посвящен актуальным проблемам квантовых технологий и микроэлектроники. Рассмотрены различные численные и аналитические подходы к моделированию и контролю элементной базы квантовых компьютеров и симуляторов с учетом декогерентизации и квантовых шумов. Представлены современные методы, направленные на инжиниринг различных квантовых состояний, а также их адекватный, полный и точный контроль. Представлены разработки, обеспечивающие существенное улучшение процедур томографии квантовых состояний и операций с учетом несовершенства технологий и измерений. Кроме того, рассмотрены некоторые вопросы, связанные с разработкой и моделированием приборов микроэлектроники и наноэлектроники. Для широкого круга специалистов в области квантовых информационных технологий, микро- и наноэлектроники, а также студентов и аспирантов, обучающихся по соответствующим специальностям. This volume is devoted to topical problems of quantum technologies and microelectronics. Various numerical and analytical approaches to modeling and control of the element base of quantum computers and simulators, taking into account decoherence and quantum noise, are considered. The modern methods aimed at engineering various quantum states, as well as their adequate, complete and accurate control are presented. Developments are presented that provide a significant improvement in the procedures for tomography of quantum states and operations, taking into account the imperfection of technologies and measurements. The Internet has largely been greeted as a technology able to create new spaces of political debate. In order to investigate the issue, scholars have paid attention to how transnational social movements use new information technologies. This has been done mainly exploring the use of the World Wide Web (WWW). However, new political spaces do not take place just on the WWW, and by consequence, research in this field cannot solely carry out Web analysis to explore the role played by the Internet in creating political debate. In looking at other areas of the Internet to understand the creation of new political space, other analytical approaches need to be adopted. The Internet also includes tools other than the WWW, such as E-Mailing Lists, collaborative on-line software, Peer-to-Peer Networks, Instant Messaging tools, and so forth. This paper explores the role that E-Mailing Lists play in creating new political spaces. To explore if and how this happens, I illustrate this crucial point with an analysis of the use of E-Mailing Lists by social movements. The case I will use is that of the organization of the protest during the G8 Summit held in Genoa in July 2001.

This chapter is focused in conceptualizing and getting results on topics that contribute to the understanding of the Society of Knowledge, focused in the area of Computer Administration of Knowledge and with the purpose of obtaining sustainable Intelligent organizations. The development introduces us to how we could approach organizations to carry out methodologically a diagnostic and outline of solutions. The contents are related with the information and obtaining of knowledge through tools of the Intelligence of Business and Technologies of Administration. The purpose is to facilitate the tools and concepts needed to recognize the strategic value of information, counting on the tools in effective form to achieve prospective results. This is gotten by a technologically appropriated structure of knowledge with Human Resources that crosses the organization in an integral and integrated form.
