Abstract The purpose of this study was to assess the level of digitization of Educational Technology Centres for teaching electrical and electronics technology in Colleges of Education in North Eastern Nigeria in order to provide information that will help solve problems of incompetence of public school students in Information and Communication Technology (ICT). The study, guided by two research questions and two hypotheses was conducted in six Colleges of Education in North Eastern Nigeria using descriptive survey research design. The sample of the study was 50 comprising of 15 non-teaching Educational Technology Centres staff and 35 Electrical and Electronics Technology lecturers from five colleges of education in North Eastern Nigeria. Checklist containing 103 expected digital facilities based on National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) minimum standard for Educational Technology Facilities in Colleges of Education in North Eastern Nigeria was used as instrument for data collection. Respondents were required to fill in observed facilities in the required column. Arithmetic percentage and Chi–square test of goodness-of-fit and were used determine the extent of digitization of the Educational Technology Centres in Colleges of Education in North Eastern Nigeria. Findings of the study revealed among others that analog technologies has higher number of frequency counts compared to digital technologies, hence there was low digitization of hardware facilities in Educational Technology Centres in Colleges of Education in North Eastern Nigeria. The study therefore concluded that Educational Technology Centres in Colleges of Education in North Eastern Nigeria were not digitized for instructional purposes; therefore, Government should digitize Educational Technology Centres in Colleges of Education in North Eastern Nigeria by adequately providing both digital hard and soft ware facilities.

INTRODUCTION:Katmon Fruit (Dillenia Philippinensis) is a fruit tree commonly use in the rural area in the Philippines. Katmon is eaten as fruit but is not very popular because of the unacceptable taste that resembles a green sour apple. The purpose of this study is to develop an instant sinigang powder as a base ingredients of sinigang and using the natural sour taste for sinigang dish.   METHOD:This study use katmon fruit, shiitake mushroom, garlic, iodized salt, and sugar to develop an instant sinigang mix powder. It were dehydrated using the Multi-Commodity Heat Pump Dryer for 13 hours. These were powdered using a grinder mixed with iodized salt and sugar. The nutrient content was computed using iFNRI online software. Thirty participants comprising: 10 faculty, 10 dormitory students,10 senior high school students did the taste test.   RESULTS:The results revealed that the product was liked very much in terms of color, texture, taste, aroma, and appearance. The instant sinigang powder is stored in a polyethylene metalized zip lock packaging 8.5 x 14cm. The cost per serving is PhP 37.5 .It is cheaper and has more nutritional value compared to other products.   DISCUSSION AND RECOMENDATION: The study recommend for more enhancement in terms of flavour of instant sinigang powder from katmon additional ingredient from natural sources to have more tasty and more nutritional content. This study also can help future researchers to have additional information about the katmon fruit.

AbstractThis paper asserts that creativity and criticality are interlocked constructs that converge through the shared impetus of challenging existing norms, practices and relations of power. Drawing on data from a student YouTube adaptation of a play about Filipino migrants from a literature textbook, it examines how high school students in the Philippines use their linguistic, multimodal and digital resources to retell a prescribed narrative from their own perspectives and contexts. By conducting a multimodal discourse analysis of this video, this paper demonstrates how these youth engage with translanguaging and transmediation, reshaping the meanings of the primary text while imagining spaces like Canada from their own fixed locations in the Philippines. Through these creative and critical processes, they are able to challenge the boundaries of both word and world, and assert their own voices in the discourse of migration and globalization.

AbstractMost studies have assessed the psychometric properties of the Gratitude Questionnaire – Six-Item Form (GQ-6) in the Western contexts while very few research has been generated to explore the applicability of this scale in non-Western settings. To address this gap, the aim of the study was to examine the factorial validity and gender invariance of the Gratitude Questionnaire in the Philippines through a construct validation approach. There were 383 Filipino high school students who participated in the research. In terms of within-network construct validity, results of confirmatory factor analyses revealed that the five-item version of the questionnaire (GQ-5) had better fit compared to the original six-item version of the gratitude questionnaire. The scores from the GQ-5 also exhibited invariance across gender. Between-network construct validation showed that gratitude was associated with higher levels of academic achievement (β = .46, p <.001), autonomous motivation (β = .73, p <.001), and controlled motivation (β = .28, p <.01). Conversely, gratitude was linked to lower degree of amotivation (β = -.51, p <.001). Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
